Petite Criss Cross

I recently acquired the Petite Criss Cross press plate from Spellbinders.  *I love anything sewing themed for cardmaking, and thought this would be a great background to coordinate with products that I already have.

I foiled the plate onto some pale peach cardstock with some copper foil, then added the smaller frame from Hoopla Oval by The Greetery.  I inked and spattered the frame a little to make it look more like a wooden embroidery hoop before gluing it down.  The floral bits are all from the Embroidered Blooms die set (also The Greetery) that I had cut out previously for a project - always happy to use up a few leftovers.

The hardware for the hoop was cut from some rose gold metallic cardstock, as was a halo mat for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the You Are Everything Sentiments press plate, pressed in Copper Pot ink.

Doggie Kisses Get Well cards

I have a couple of sweet Get Well cards today - using the Ai Funny Farm collection set: Doggie Kisses (Sku # AiCS38):
These are the cutest images!  Quick and easy to colour, too.
You can't see it too well in the photos, but I did some zigzag stitching with my sewing machine, using a metallic gold thread from Gutermann.  I fussy cut around my image, and used pop dots to mount him and the paw print.  I kept the next one fairly simple:
 Copics used - Browns - E57, E55, E53, E51, E50
Greys - C3, C1, C00
Pinks - R85, R83, R81, R22, R20

Baseball anyone?

I'm sharing a couple of cards made with one of the new Get Well stamp sets - here is Baseball Set (Sku #4904):
These are fairly quick and fun - I let the patterned paper do the talking.
These are just a little larger than a regular A2 sized card - I made them 6" x 4 3/4".  That oval die is a pretty good size, and I wanted to see more of the patterned paper.  I coloured them with my Copic markers and cut the sentiment into a speech bubble before adhering it with Pop Dots.
 Copics used - Skin tones: E11, E00, E000, E34, E31, R30, R20
Hair: Y26, Y23, E50, E18, E07, E02
Blues: B97, B95, B93, B91, B02, B01, B000, B0000
Oranges: YR07, YR04, YR02, YR00
Greys: W5, W3, W1
Browns: E55, E53, E51

Create a Background Challenge

I've been waiting for a while for the Art Impressions Funny Farm stamp sets to be released!  They're really fun :o)  All four sets are now available on the Ai website - and the entire Design Team are sharing projects with them today on the blog.  Here is Doggy Kisses Set (Sku #AiCS38):
This is just one of the four main images included in the set, as well as a whole bunch of Get Well sentiments.  Our current challenge on the Ai blog is "Create a Background - so I pulled out four tonal Distress Inks and blended them onto a piece of watercolour paper.  Then I sprinkled some water with my paintbrush and let it dry.  I mounted my circles off center on their black mats, raised the sentiment with pop dots and added a few Enamel Gumdrops.  AND... I have a coupon code for you to shop with on the Ai site - Art Impressions is celebrating their 30th anniversary with a 30% off deal - check it out:
 Hope you can play along!

Feel Better

Art Impressions came out with a collection of "Get Well Soon" stamp sets this spring, and today I am featuring Better Soon Set (Sku #4864):
I coloured my images with Copic markers, and paper pieced his duvet.  I matted the image and sentiment on some black cardstock to make it stand out, and used pop dots to attach the image circle.
I made the cards 5" square, and added some enamel dots to jazz things up a little.  These are great Get Well Soon cards to have on hand.
 Copics used: E11, E00, E000, R35, R32, R30, G46, G43, G40, Y35, Y11, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50, C3, C1
