Charity Angel

It is my Tuesday post on the Art Impressions blog!
I have a trio of cards to share today, using the sweet Charity Angel (Sku#T4177) .  She is one of three angels in the Art Impressions collection of Christmas stamps (you can see Faith here, and Hope here!)  I had this set of papers with graphic patterns, and coloured up my angels to match:

I made a little banner of pennant shapes, spelling out Joy, which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder for a little shimmer.  I glued them onto some gold cord and added a bow at each end.  There are three little gold sparkles on the lower right of the card as well.

Happy stamping everyone!

Hot Air Balloon...Part Two

While I was on a roll yesterday with my Mojo Monday card... I decided to keep going and make a second version with the little hot air balloon shapes.  Here is the flip version with a simplified background:
Patterned papers are Elemental; Cardstock is Kraft, Sorbet, Pacifica & Colonial White; Stamp set is Avonlea WOTG Flair; Ink is Desert Sand; Sorbet brads; Cricut Artiste cartridge.

Mojo Monday #261

I have been wanting to try out this little hot air balloon from the Cricut Artiste cartridge, so I used it for this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I popped up the balloon and one of the clouds for a little dimension, and softened all the edges with a little sponging in Desert Sand:
Patterned papers are Elemental & Lucy; Cardstock is Kraft, Sorbet, Indian Corn Blue & Colonial White; Ink is Desert Sand; Stamp set is Find Your Style; Sorbet Baker's Twine; Cricut Artiste cartridge - all CTMH.

Humble Artist's Swap

A few months ago I was thrilled to be asked to join a group of very talented ladies who are the Humble Artist's Swap group.  We do a bi-monthly swap, with very specific requirements!  I'll see if I can remember all of them for our February swap that I'm posting today:
Must use Kraft paper and/or Kraft borders
Must use either Roxy, Elemental, Typeset or ....
Must have an Art Philosophy shape
Must have 3 embellishments
Must have at least 6 layers
Must use at least 2 different stamp sets
Hope I got them all?  Here's what I came up with:

Elemental Cards

This stamp set definitely is intended for Valentine's Day, but I wanted to make something a little less holiday-specific.  I stamped the heart/flower image and then stamped it again in a contrasting colour that I cut out, scored and stitched down on top, so that the heart edges could be bent up, and the colour underneath would peak out.
Patterned papers are Elemental; Cardstock is Desert Sand & Colonial White; Stamp set is Affection; Inks are Sorbet, Creme Brulee & Sweet Leaf - all CTMH.

Inspired By Challenge #9

This is my second post for today - scroll down to see my Mojo Monday card :o)  Laurel chose the cutest vintage Minnie Mouse picture for this week's Inspired By challenge... and I knew that I had to use my cute little dress form and something melon-y colourwise.  I also decided to try colouring with Copics on patterned paper, and kindof like how it turned out?  There is still time to play in this week's challenge, so head over to the blog and check it out.  Here's what I came up with:

Here was our inspiration:
Patterned papers are Elemental; Cardstock is Sorbet & Colonial White; Stamp set is Tailor Made; Buttons - all CTMH; Memento Brown ink; Spellbinders die; Copic markers.

A shaped card

Here's card #2 for my upcoming workshop.  I really wanted to show the class how easy it is to use non-holiday paper for a Christmas card, and the Elemental papers work perfectly for that.  I designed my own shape for the edge (and yes, I have to precut 20 of these!)  I love the slightly country feel to this one:
Patterned papers are Elemental; Stamp set is Holiday Magic; Inks are Pacifica, Olive & Desert Sand; Cardstock is Colonial White & Barn Red - all CTMH.

An Elemental Thank-you card

I got this absolutely adorable die in the mail this week from Taylored Expressions - that makes this teeny, tiny little shopping bag!  I could hardly wait to make it into a card... and luckily I need a thank-you card for a girlfriend.  This week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge is "Gratitude" so I'm entering it there :o)

Patterned papers are Elemental, Cardstock is Kraft, Colonial White & Sorbet; Inks are desert sand & sorbet; Stamp set is Say it in Style - all CTMH. Dies are Spellbinders & Taylored Expressions.
