Jumbo Berry

My Strawberry obsession continues!  This is the Jumbo Berry set from Pigment Craft Company... and I just adore the scale of this.  When I create, I like to make multiples once all my supplies are out, so I've got four A2 sized cards, all with just slight variations.

I used the sentiment from Latte Heart Elements, which I think is really cute.  I had a few of the white die cut flowers leftover from my previous berry cards, so I tucked them in on a couple of the cards.

I am playing along with this week's Color Throwdown challenge!  I haven't played in a long time, and when I spotted this week's challenge, knowing I was about to create strawberry cards - it was meant to be.

Birthday Wreath

Just felt like doing a fairly quick & simple card for a couple of challenges tonight, so I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches #259, and am using the palette from The Color Throwdown #415 :
I've had these little twig wreath die cuts (Memory Box?) sitting in my craft room for longer than I can remember... my friend Tania gave them to me, so she'll laugh if she sees them here :o)  Not my favourite card, it's a little busy with the die cuts, but I loved getting the chance to play with a couple of challenges!

Patterned paper is Pathfinding, Cardstock is Chocolate, Glacier & Cashmere; Stamp set is Happy Birthday, ink is Chocolate - all Close To My Heart; Wreath die, Memory Box, Happy die, Avery Elle; Gumdrops are Your Next Stamp.

Seize the Sketch & Color Throwdown

This card came together in a strange way tonight...  I loved the colours in this week's Color Throwdown challenge, and when I stumbled across the sketch at the Seize the Sketch challenge I knew that I wanted to give it a try.  I've used these Carta Bella papers for several cards, so I pulled them out onto my craft table, and sitting there beside them was an image I'd coloured weeks ago, perfectly fitting the colours, the papers and the sketch?!  It all came together pretty quickly after that:
It's not quite this limey in person!!  Here were the challenges:
Patterned papers are True Friends, Carta Bella; Cardstock is Slate, Cotton Candy & White Daisy, CTMH; Ink is London Fog, Memento; Copic Markers;  Flower & Button, CTMH; Stamp set is Camper Crazy, CTMH.

Color Throwdown #273

Yes, I know it's January, but I'm still in Christmas card mode... it's gloriously sunny here, and -30 degrees Celsuis, so it's easy to still be thinking of the holidays.  I've used this week's pretty grey/turquiose colour combo from the Color Throwdown challenge, and used Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday sketch with a few tweeks.  So far I'm sticking to my "always make two" mantra for Christmas cards:

Cardstock is Grey Mist, Heavenly Blue & White Daisy; Stamp sets are In the Background, Scandinavian Wishes & Remarkable Wreath; Inks are Grey Mist, Grey Wool & Heavenly Blue; Bitty sparkles; Button - all Close To My Heart; Ribbon from Michaels.

A Square Mojo card

I used the square option from this week's Mojo Monday sketch, and had fun distressing the edges of my papers - I don't do it very often!  I pulled out some Tim Holtz distress glitter and added it around the edges of my pieces, too.  My second generation grey snowflake has disappeared in the photo!  It's quite pale, and is behind the sentiment (it's there, really!).  I've used today's Colour Throwdown colours as well:
Patterned papers are Very Merry Christmas, Echo Park; Cardstock is Grey Flannel & White Daisy, CTMH; Stamp set is Frosted WOTG, CTMH; Inks are Grey Flannel & New England Ivy, CTMH; Olive Waxy Flax, CTMH; Tim Holtz Distress Glitter.

The Color Throwdown challenge blog is celebrating 5 years, and it's 250th sketch this week, so I wanted to play along with the pretty summery/ice creamy colours... and I've used this week's Mojo Monday sketch:
Here was our colour inspiration:
And our sketch that I flipped up on it's end:

Heart2Heart Sketch & Color Throwdown #180 Challenges

I love a good sketch challenge!  So when the Heart2Heart Challenge blog had a lovely sketch this week, I definitely wanted to play.  I've combined it with The Color Throwdown challenge whose colours for this week worked perfectly with CTMH's Dreamin' papers.  Instead of the side panel, I stamped a row of Damask Tiles in a 'soft' black (I was aiming for more of a dark grey...).  The card is 5 3/4" square:

Patterned papers are Dreamin'; Cardstock is Grey Wool & Grey Mist; Ink is Black; Autumn Button; Just Blooms Autumn Sunflower; Black Hemp - all CTMH;  Stamp sets are Blessings, Verve & Damask Tiles, CTMH.

Color Throwdown Challenge #175 & Merry Monday Challenge #3

I've never been one to make my Christmas cards very far ahead... but the idea of being more organized at that time of year REALLY appeals to me!  So when I discovered the Merry Monday challenge on Lesley's blog, I thought I would try to play along whenever I can.  I liked this week's sketch, and the colours from the Color Throwdown were screaming Christmas at me, so here's what I came up with:
Here's the ultimate in recycling... I think this little bell came on a box of chocolates we received over the holidays, and I really liked the little crinkly ribbon that it came on, so it's been sitting on my craft desk, waiting for a home:

Patterned papers are Season's Greetings, Echo Park; Kraft & Cranberry Cardstock is CTMH.

Mojo Monday #216 & Color Throwdown #169

Aqua & red are one of my favourite Christmas colour combos right now... so I loved working with the Color Throwdown colours this week!  I used Debbie Carriere's Mojo Monday sketch:
Patterned papers are Season's Greetings by Echo Park; Cardstock is Black & Colonial White, CTMH; Stamp sets are Just For the Holiday & Falling Snow, CTMH & Glad Tidings, Verve; Inks are Cranberry & Black, CTMH.

Color Throwdown Challenge #166 & CASE Study Challenge #64

I haven't played the Color Throwdown Challenge in a few weeks, so I'm happy to have 2 cards to post for this week's challenge!  The colours immediately made me think of the Miracle paper pack from last spring, and I decided to use it to make a couple of soft & pretty sympathy cards for my stash.  I was inspired to play along with this week's CASE study challenge too, when I saw the pretty cut-out card made by this month's muse, Kryssi Ng (scroll down to see her card). Here's the first:
and here's a close up of my raised panel & cutout:
and another one:
Here is Kryssi's card:
Supplies for both cards: Stamp set is Blessings by Verve; Patterned paper is Miracle; Cardstock is Kraft, Colonial White & Crystal Blue; Ink is Desert Sand; Heavenly Blue Sassy Strands; Garden Green button & brads, paper flower & wooden button - all CTMH.

Color Throwdown Challenge #162

I love blue & brown together!  This week's Color Throwdown challenge added a pale creamy yellow to the mix, too.  I'm generally a less is more kinda gal, so I almost didn't add the little striped ribbon - what do you think?  Is it one element too many?  I'm still pleased with the outcome either way:
Patterned paper is Life's Journey Dictionary; Cardstock is Cocoa, Crystal Blue & Colonial White - CTMH; Stamp sets are Bloom & Grow - Verve; Happy Birthday - CTMH;  Inks are Desert Sand & Crystal Blue - CTMH; Just Blooms paper butterflies - CTMH;  Cuttlebug flower dies; Charming Oval dies - Verve;  Ribbon - CTMH;  Opaque Mocha Pearls - CTMH;

Color Throwdown Challenge #158 & RCC19

Here's an interesting colour combo for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge... it reminds me of CTMH's new Dreamin' papers:
I used a little Basic Grey Ambrosia for this, and some Verve stamps.  I'm also entering it in this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge which is Anything Goes:
Patterned Papers are Basic Grey, Ambrosia; Sentiment is Blessings by Verve; Vintage Oval Frame die by Verve; Pacifica cardstock is CTMH; Liquorice Opaque Pearls are CTMH; Twine from The Twinery.

Color Throwdown Challenge #153

My long awaited Verve stamps & dies arrived yesterday, so they were the first things I grabbed for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!  Here is the colour palette:
I was very much inspired by Broni Holcombe's gorgeous card, so here's my spin on it: (even though it looks a bit rectangular, it's actually a 5 1/2" square card)
Stamp set is Bloom & Grow, by Verve; Elegant Leaves and Floral Circles dies by Verve; Cardstock is Kraft, Heavenly Blue & White Daisy; Inks are Black, Olive, Crystal Blue & Heavenly Blue; Heavenly Blue & Kiwi Bigger Brads - all CTMH.
