SAY NO-2-MAY-13 2.0!

Salam 2 all.

I have a simple question to ask the christian extremist and evangelist, and please do give a straight forward answer:

WHY DID YOU TRANSLATE THE WORD 'GOD' TO 'ALLAH'?

In King James Bible, you have translated Matthew 27:46 from the hebrew bible 'Eli, Eli lamma sabachthani' into English as 'My God, My God, why have thy forsaken me'.

My question is, why on earth did you translate the verse into bahasa Melayu as follows: 'Ya Allahku, Ya Allahku, mengapa Kau tinggalkan aku'.*

You can asked any Malaysian and those who understand even basic bahasa Melayu, and they will tell you right in the face that the translation was wrong. The proper and correct translation of 'My God, My God' would be 'Tuhanku, Tuhanku'.

That's why the first pillar of Rukunegara, 'Believe in God' is 'Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan', and not 'Kepercayaan kepada Allah' because we do acknowledged that not everybody believe in Allah as the One and Only God.

And you may want to refer to the statement by a Malaysian, who is a staunch christian believer Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus J Ongkili as published by The Daily Express on 07.02.2014 when he said, 'if (the word) 'Allah' is critical in my prayers, then I can understand the sentiment. But if other words can carry the same meaning (in addressing God), then I will not want to hurt others whose views are different from mine.

Besides Allah, I can always address God as Bapa Syurga in Bahasa, or in my native dialect "Kinorihingan" (meaning Bapa Syurga), or Latin/Hebrew Jehovah, Yahweh and Trinity God in English. Using such terms does not in any way affect the quality of my worship'.

There you are. The statement is res ipsa loquitor - it speaks for itself. It is as clear as the sun rising up every morning, and setting down every evening!

What this mean is that that the usage of the word 'Allah' is not a question of faith as far as christianity is concerned, it's just a question of wrong translation of the word God!

So the question of infringing the christian's Constitutional right to profess and practice their religion doesn't arise at all. The question of freedom of religion also doesn't arise at all!

Wrong translation of a word is not a fundamental right, it's just a linguistic issue!

What needs to be done now is to explain the real problem to all the stakeholders and rectify the wrong translation, that's all!

That's exactly what Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus J Ongkili said in the above quoted statement. And for your benefit, I repeat what the learned christian said,

NOT USING ALLAH DOES NOT IN ANY WAY AFFECT THE QUALITY OF HIS WORSHIP!

And that is exactly what some sector of the christian community in Indonesia did. After realizing the mistake, an influential christian body by the name Yayasan Lentera Bangsa published a Malay-Indonesian version of the bible called 'Kitab Suci - Perjanjian Baru & Lama' 2nd Edition, First Print Year 2008.

And they dropped the used of the word 'Allah' completely and in toto from the Malay-Indonesia version bible.

For example, in Matthew 27:46 as quoted above, the new translation is as follows: (at page 40 of the Kitab Perjanjian Lama Matius 27:46): 

Dan kira-kira jam kesembilan Yesus berteriak dengan suara nyaring, sambil berkata "Eli, Eli, lama sabakhtani?" Yang artinya, "Elohimku, Elohimku, mengapa Engkau meninggalkan aku".

Thus it is very clear that the usage of the word 'Allah' is not - as the Court of Appeal correctly held - it is not an integral part of the christianity faith.

This means that the Court of Appeal's decision, as upheld by the Federal Court, is not only legally correct. It is also religiously correct.

I therefore called upon all the christian extremist and evangelist to learn to respect the decision of the Federal Court and the Court of Appeal, learn to respect the Federal Constitution, learn to respect the law of the country, learn to respect the sensitivities of other religion including Islam, and learn to respect your own religion.

Otherwise, you are just being atrocious, insolent and disrespectful!

Do you remember that when Justice Lau Bee Lan allowed the Herald's application to use the word Allah, you demanded the Malay-Muslim to respect the decision.

When the Attorney General decided not to prefer any charges against the Bible Society for committing an offence under Section 9 of the Selangor Ant-Propagation Law 1988, again you demanded the Malay-Muslim to respect the decision.

BUT WHEN THE FEDERAL COURT DISALLOWED THE HERALD'S APPLICATION TO APPEAL, THUS UPHOLDING THE COURT OF APPEAL'S DECISION TO PROHIBIT THE HERALD FROM USING THE WORD ALLAH, YOU SUDDENLY BECAME HYSTERICAL AND CONDEMNED THE DECISION; AND REFUSED TO ACCEPT AND RESPECT THE DECISION OF THE APEX COURT OF THE COUNTRY!

DON'T YOU THINK THAT IS HYPOCRISY OF THE HIGHEST DEGREE!

And may I remind you before you continue with your provocative attitude, please do read the book "13th May: Before & After" written by our beloved Father of Malaysia Almarhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, and the Mageran Report dated 06 Oktober 1969 for you to realize that what you are doing may cause serious racial and religious conflict in this peaceful country.

The record shows that prior to the bloody riot, the racial chauvinist has been instigating the chinese community to go against the Malays by playing up the issue on Malay rights and privileges as enshrined in the Federal Constitution, in particular Article 153.

The chauvinist and racial bigotries even fanned up an anti-Malay slogan Malai-si - Death to the Malays - Mampus Melayu. And as the saying goes, the rest is history; which you can read for yourself.

And what you are doing now is worse - you are challenging the very fundamental and core of  the Malay-Muslim faith. You are playing with the word Allah -  the One and Only God; the very foundation of the Muslim faith!

I personally do not want to see May 13th happened again. And I pray very hard it will never happen again! You can consider yourself lucky because the Malay-Muslim in Malaysia are very tolerant and peace loving people - after all Islam is a religion of peace.

We the peace loving Malaysians do not want to see the repeat of May 13th as we know how the people of all religious and racial background suffers because of the stupidity of some atrocious, insolent and disrespectful bunch of idiots!

So again I call upon you to stop all this provocation and instigation. Let us live together in peace and harmony, and help build this beloved nation of ours for the benefit of our future generation - your children and my children!

And I will end here by quoting The Final Testatement - The Al-Quran:

Adakah pihak pelampau dan extremis keagamaan dan juak-juak mereka tidak tahu menghormati keputusan Mahkamah Persekutuan?

Setelah mendengar hujah panjang lebar daripada kesemua pihak pada 05 Mac 2014, Mahkamah Persekutuan pada 23 Jun 2014 telah menolak permohonan Titular Archbishop Kuala Lumpur untuk merayu terhadap keputusan Mahkamah Rayuan melarang kristian daripada menggunakan kalimah Allah didalam penerbitan The Herald mereka.

Ini adalah keputusan Mahkamah tertinggi didalam negara. Ini keputusan Mahkamah yang ditubuhkan oleh Perlembagaan Persekutuan dengan kuasa-kuasa perundangan dan kehakiman yang tertinggi dan muktamad. Ini adalah keputusan Yang Arif Hakim-Hakim yang dilantik oleh Yang DiPertuan Agong dengan perkenan Majlis Raja-Raja.

Menolak keputusan Mahkamah Persekutuan bermakna menghina Perlembagaan!

Menolak keputusan Mahkamah Persekutuan bermakna menghina Raja-Raja!

Melihat kepada komen-komen yang dibuat oleh para pelampau dan extremis keagamaan ini dan penyokong-penyokong mereka, adalah jelas mereka hanya akan menyokong keputusan Mahkamah yang menyebelahi mereka.

Lihat sahaja bagaimana bila Peguam Negara membuat keputusan tidak akan mendakwa Bible Society dalam isu bibel versi Melayu yang menyalah-gunakan kalimah Allah. Walaupun terang-terang bibel tersebut bercanggah dengan Seksyen 9 Enakmen Anti-Dakyah Selangor, tetapi kita dapat melihat bukan main berkokok para pelampau dan extremis ini memuji keputusan Peguam Negara.

Mereka mendesak MAIS supaya menghormati keputusan tersebut. Malah dengan lebih biaDap mereka mendesak MAIS mengembalikan bibel-bibel dakyah tersebut.

Tetapi bila Mahkamah Persekutuan membuat keputusan menolak permohonan rayuan mereka, sekaligus mengekalkan keputusan Mahkamah Rayuan bahawa kalimah Allah bukan merupakan intipati integral kepercayaan kristianiti, tiba-tiba kaum ini menjadi sawan tak keruan.

Bukan sahaja mereka tidak tahu menghormati keputusan Mahkamah Persekutuan, malah mereka mencabar umat Islam dengan ugutan akan terus menggunakan kalimah Allah didalam gereja dan didalam amalan keagamaan mereka!

Kalau ini bukan kurang ajar dan biaDap, saya tidak tahu nak bagi label apa lagi kepada perangai pelampau keagamaan dan extremis liberalis ini.

Dan kalau melihat komen-komen yang dimuat-turun di laman-laman web mereka, terbukti tanpa sebarang keraguan bahawa memang mereka ini kaum yang cukup biaDap, kurang ajar dan sudah menurun perangai dan kelakuan mereka ke tahap kehaiwanan; malah lebih rendah daripada haiwan!

Saya ingin memberi peringatan kepada kaum cauvinis dan pelampau agama ini, jangan kamu nak uji kesabaran umat Islam. Memang kami diajar supaya bersikap toleransi dan sabar, tetapi hanya kepada mereka yang tahu beradab dan saling menghormati.

Tetapi bila kamu melangkau ke dunia kebiaDapan dan kurang ajar melampau, sehingga menyerang Allah dan agama Islam, kamu kami anggap sebagai kafir harbi, dan rakan sekongkolan kamu yang mengaku Islam kami anggap adalah munafik.

Dan Islam mengajar kami adalah diperbolehkan untuk menentang kafir harbi dan kaum munafik ini dengan apa sahaja cara yang bersesuaian dan dibenarkan Islam dan undang-undang negara ini!

Kamu mendakwa Jesus mengajar kamu agama kristian berteraskan kasih-sayang. Tetapi cara kamu bertindak bukan sahaja tidak mengikuti ajaran agama kamu itu, malahan membuktikan kamu langsung tidak bertamaddun dan menunjukkan ciri-ciri manusia yang tiada punya kesedaran sivik!

Dan saya percaya ramai penganut kristian yang benar-benar mengikuti ajaran Jesus TIDAK bersetuju dengan tindak-tanduk dan kebiaDapan kamu ini! Mereka tahu dan mereka sedar bahawa kita selama ini hidup aman damai dan harmoni antara kaum dan agama kerana amalan toleransi dan saling hormat menghormati yang menjadi teras kepada perpaduan rakyat negara ini.

Satu soalan mudah yang saya minta kamu jawab:

Dalam Kings James Bible kamu menterjemahkan Matthew 27:46 daripada bahasa hebrew Jesus 'Eli, Eli lamma sabachthani' dengan ayat 'My God, My God, why have thy forsaken me'. Persoalannya mengapa dalam bahasa Melayu kamu terjemahkan ayat itu dengan 'Allahku, Allahku, mengapa Kau tinggalkan aku'.

Sedangkan mana-mana rakyat Malaysia dan orang yang faham bahasa Melayu tahu terjemahan tepat dan betul bagi 'my God, my God' ialah 'Tuhanku, Tuhanku'. Sebab itu Rukunegara Pertama ialah 'Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan', bukan 'Kepercayaan kepada Allah' kerana kita meraikan kepercayaan agama-agama lain yang tidak mempertuhankan Allah.

Bermakna persoalan penggunaan kalimah Allah didalam bibel versi bahasa Melayu adalah soal salah-terjemahan, bukan soal kepercayaan!

Jadi tidak timbul soal hak kebebasan beragama yang dijamin oleh Perlembagaan Persekutuan! Tidak timbul soal menyekat hak asasi penganut kristian mengamalkan agama mereka. Tidak timbul soal mencabul kebebasan kamu untuk beragama dan bertuhan.

Salah-terjemah perkataan bukan soal hak asasi tetapi persoalan bahasa!

Apa yang perlu dilakukan sekarang ialah memperbetulkan salah terjemahan tersebut, itu sahaja.

Dan itulah yang dilakukan oleh sebahagian penganut kristian di Indonesia bilamana sebuah pertubuhan kristian bernama Yayasan Lentera Bangsa menerbitkan bibel versi bahasa Melayu-Indonesia dinamakan 'Kitab Suci - Perjanjian Baru & Lama' Edisi 2, Cetakan Pertama tahun 2008.

Contohnya bagi ayat Matthew 27:46 diatas, telah diterjemahkan seperti berikut (dimukasurat 40 Kitab Perjanjian Lama Matius 27:46):

Dan kira-kira jam kesembilan Yesus berteriak dengan suara nyaring, sambil berkata "Eli, Eli, lama sabakhtani?" Yang artinya, "Elohimku, Elohimku, mengapa Engkau meninggalkan aku".

Ini bermakna penggunaan kalimah Allah bukanlah sebahagian daripada keprecayaan penganut kristian - atau seperti yang diputuskan oleh Mahkamah - it is not an integral part of the christianity faith.

Bermakna keputusan Mahkamah bukan sahaja tepat dan betul dari segi undang-undang dan Perlembagaan, malahan tepat dan betul dari segi kepercayaan penganut kristian sendiri.

Oleh itu saya menyeru para pelampau dan extremis keagamaan ini supaya belajar menghormati keputusan Mahkamah, belajar menghormati Perlembagaan Malaysia, belajar menghormati undang-undang Malaysia, belajar menghormati sensitiviti agama lain termasuk Islam, belajar menghormati agama kristian sendiri.

Jika tidak, kamu memang kurang ajar! Jika tidak kamu memang biaDap!

Dan kalau kamu tidak menghentikan provokasi dan penghasutan berterusan ini, kamu hanya sekadar mengundang supaya peristiwa 13 Mei supaya berulang. Bacalah buku "13th May: Before & After" karya Almarhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, dan Lapuran Mageran 06 Oktober 1969 untuk kamu sedar bahawa apa yang kamu sedang lakukan sekarang adalah tindakan provokatif yang boleh mengundang berulangnya peristiwa 13 mei 1969.

Atau adakah kamu memang sengaja mahu 13-Mei 2.0 berlaku? Kami rakyat Malaysia yang cintakan keamanan dan keharmonian tidak mahu melihat peristiwa 13 Mei ini berulang, kerana kami tahu betapa sengsara dan menderitanya rakyat akibat perbuatan biaDap para cauvinis dan pelampau perkauman dan agama ini.
