Absinthe + Nylon

It's still super hot and summery here (by Danish standards) and I can't think of a better excuse for minimal eye makeup and super bright lips.

Not that you'd ever really need an excuse for wearing Nylon lip tar, but you get the point :)

Also, let me take a moment to (repeat myself and) tell you how much I love Sugarpill Absinthe! It's super bright but also very easy to blend out and use in a look like this.

Diva

After doing my eye makeup today, I reached into my lipstick drawer and pulled out... MAC's Diva! I love wearing shades like that!

Blogging, how I've missed thee!

I'd like to start with a statement: I love blogging.

And now that my exams are over, and I'm looking to spend my time doing exactly what I want instead of thinking about deadlines and grades all the time, I might actually have some time for the blogging world again!

I want blogging to be fun!

I don't really make money off of it and my blog isn't nearly as professional looking as so many others out there. But I love it anyway. Blogging is a source of inspiration to me, and I'd like to keep it going. I hate thinking back at the past year and realizing that I haven't done nearly as much makeup as I'd have liked and definitely haven't posted as much either.




However, since I can't change that, I'll try my best to keep up with the blog for the summer - and hopefully long after that as well, but let's face it - I shouldn't promise anything. I hate starting every post with "sorry I haven't posted, but I've been busy" and lame excuses like that.

Anyway,

the point of this post really wasn't to ramble on and on, but to share some random FOTDs I've done the past couple of months but never got around to posting.


I'm not entirely sure what I used in them, but I figured it was something to share :)

Back to Black

After taking a bit of a hiatus from the whole blogging/YouTube/Twitter world, I'm back with a new FOTD.
I've got tons of other things I want to try/write about but we'll see how that goes ;)

S/S Trend tutorial: Pop Classic

"Better late than never" seems to have become an increasingly popular sentence for me to start my posts with. But it's true, isn't it? :)
In any case, here goes the pictures and tutorial for the Pop Classic summer trend that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago :)

Face of the Day: Love+

I'm loving the combination of red and purple at the moment, so it seemed like an obvious choice to use those colors when I had some time to play around with my makeup today.

I used my very favorite red eyeshadow: Sugarpill's Love+, but was quite surprised to see how pink it looked with the other colors. Oh well, I still think it's purrrtty :)

There are two different lip looks behind the cut - one version that's more matte and one that's more glossy. I did the matte one first, but while I liked the fading effect, I really didn't like how it looked with the eyes, so I ended up putting a gloss on top :)

I finally had the time to play around with some fun makeup today, and this is what I ended up with! :)

Purple lips!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love purple lips!
And! I think I've just found my new favorite purple lip combo :D

Make Up Store Magazine inspired: Bold brows, eyes & lips!

Have I told you that I love Make Up Store Magazine?!
They're always super inspiring, and the latest issue is no exception :)

I wanted to do a look inspired by the picture on page 150 in the newest magazine (issue #15), and this is what I came up with :)

I guess the inspiration for this look came from a look one of my colleagues did at work, but I used completely different products and it turned out a bit different :)

I just really think the blue lips are fun :D

FOTD: More To The Beach!

Just another really, really quick FOTD post.

FOTD: Orange lips are awesome! :)

The weather here was super nice today, so I decided to put my favorite plastic flowers in my hair and use some orange lipstick! ;)

For whatever reason, I find Morange lipstick quite hard to capture in pictures.
It always looks more red in pictures than it does in real life.

Petals & Peacocks: The bright version!

Last time I wore the Petals & Peacocks lipsticks, it was a bit of a more neutral version, so I thought it would be a good idea to show you how awesome and bright it can be as well :D

I really do love this lipstick!

FOTD: Testing the lip tars!

This FOTD was done super quick (we're talking 5 minutes... maybe 10) so it's really not that exciting... But I wanted to put the lip tars to the test.

These pictures were taken just after applying the lip tar, so they're not meant to show you the staying power. But I will tell you, that even though I didn't wear primer or liner with this, it didn't bleed at all on me! Sure, it smeared a little after eating and drinking, and it did fade a bit as well but it really wasn't bad at all!
Now, 8 hours after application, I still have red lips. Not perfect red lips, and definitely not as bright as they were when I first applied the color, but not lips I wouldn't leave the house with either.

And the most crazy thing about it? It didn't even take a drop to cover my entire lip!
