Mum's Work (2) - "Rien ne sert de courir..."

Here is the 2nd works of my mum!
She has chosen the design from Echevette again, I think she likes Echevette a lot!

It had been a few weeks, since she has finished this stitch, but we couldn't find the suitable frame for this stitch...

Then, I realized that I've bought a small basket for something to make, then when I sized it was just fitted!!

I like crafting, so I asked her to let me make the lid with her stitch, like this!
How is it? I added linen lace around the lid to hide the juncture, lol

Here are the photos of the fabric which I used for the back of the lid.
Very lovely flower fabbie suits this basket, I think.

I thought it's a nice idea to make stitched lid of the basket, and so I'm going to buy the same baskets (bigger size, I prefer) and will do the same as hers to make my own sewing box, some other time!

My mum's first work!

My mum has just started doing cross stitch with me! So I gave her fabrics (Aidas which I've bought at very first when I've started cross stitch) and she has chosen THIS from lots of charts that I have, for the first stitch!

How is this?
I think she has really well done as the first work!!
It's really pretty design, so I want to try to stitch this some other time!

When I downloaded them, they were free, but unfortunately, include this, they are not free chart anymore...
I must say I was really lucky!

She finished as an ornament, trimmed with code and made tassel by herself with the left code, but as they were twisted, it shrunk when she untied, LOL

Recently we found and bought so many tassels, so next time when I try to finish like this, I will use proper tassel!
Just to make sure, I've asked her if she tries to use the proper tassel and undo, but she said that she is satisfied this result and so leave it as it is... so it's of course still shrunk, whenever I see, LOL

Here is the backing fabric. This fabric was my favourite, lovely isn't it?!
But it really suit well for this design I thought and she liked this as well, I pleased to gave it to her to use!
Now she has been trying to stitch another one from Echevette and when it finished she will try to more bigger design which she felt in love at the first sight!

Souvenir d' Alsace

Thanks for stopping by!
Last night, "Souvenir d' Alsace" from
Echevette was finished!
I'm one of big fan of Echevette, really love desgins that she makes!

This time, I used stripe fabric for the frame, and added big white buttons on the four corners.

At the first time when I saw this pattern, there was an idea came up into my mind to use red polka dot fabric for the frame, but it was so-called "red", so it didn't suit DMC#498 which I used to stitch for this chart.
Therefore I used this stripe cloth instead this time!

I'm quite satisfied with this result!
I'm planning to put it on the rails on the wall which I bought @ IKEA a few weeks ago!

Joyeux Noel

Here is the pretty design "Joyeux Noel" from "Echevette" France!
I made a mount with red fabric and added snowflake spangles on it.
I think it looks became more Christmassy!

This is a very small pattern, so I could make it for about 1.5 days, even I am a beginer as you know! I really enjoyed stitching along, this time too!
Thanks Echevette!I love your design very much!

Sorry for my poor English, it's shame that I can't express about what I want to say properly in English, sigh...

Coeur de bienvenue

"Coeur de bienvenue" from Echevette has just finished today!
Echevette is one of my favourite blog (site) and when I saw this design at the site, it was like "first sight love", and I have downloaded it immediately, it has just hit my heart (lol)!

I trimmed around the edge with linen lace just inside the frame, it looks became really cute!

Recommends colour is #ecru (DMC) but I used #blanc, because the colour of fabric I used was quite similar with #ecru, so it didn't show well the outline or the heart itself much. That's why I used #blanc instead.

To stitch along white area of this big heart was quite tough, but I enjoyed stitch along synthetically!
I had been excited to see the finished piece, so I was really happy when I have done this!!

Three small motifs

I've remembered that I had three small frames in the closet which I've bought for a long time ago.
Then the nice idea suddenly came up in my mind!

I decided to stitch small motifs for those small frames.

I searched and found really nice designs for them.
I stitched with dark brown thread (forgot the DMC #...),

A bird is from free chart @ Echevette, and other two are also free chart from A Mon Ami Pierre.
I've chosen and extracted these three motifs from their charts.

Actually I've mistaken to center the fabric for the first one, so tried to add the lace design on the top, and it became much better than nothing, so... it means I should have added the "lace" for other two as well to unify! lol

These are very cute I think and they are my favourites now!
They are hanging on the post (pillar) in my house now!
