Food with Soul

in the mood of trying new recipe ^^
so we had these:

ah yan self-invented Lemongrass Chicken
*marinate chicken cuts with sugar, salt 
n blended lemongrass for 1-2 hours
(cut lemongrass as thin as possible  before blending)

*saute smashed lemongrass stalks,
chopped ginger, shallot n garlic till fragrant
*pour in the chicken together with the marinate
*add in some water n let it cover for a while (stir once in a while)
*season with some sugar, soysauce n black sauce
*cook till sauce thicken
Stir-Fried Mix Vege with fresh mushroom

沙葛汤 Sengkuang Soup
tasted this very yummy soup from Tai Ping Lang last weekend
n tot it was white radish until we check with the crew there =P
love the sweetness!
*skin sengkuang n cut it into big chunk
*cook together with pork rib, red dates, wolf berries n 玉竹
*boil for 2 hours
*dun forget to sprinkle some salt before serve

Happy Mid Autumn 2011

虽然这个中秋 我很没有心情买月饼 开月光会
但还是过得很热闹:
  
越来越难找的<猪笼饼>
从马六甲三保井巴刹远道而来的小礼物
充满童年的浓浓回忆……
从吉隆坡半山芭紫藤到马六甲爸爸妈妈家定居的小月饼
Melaka Raya 荣成礼坊的梅子莲蓉素饼
和 每年中秋必备的公仔饼 今年有兔子形状的哦!
Uncle Lim 旗下出产的月饼
从第一刀切下去的直觉
就告诉我这东东很没有heart
味道果然很假
当中最贵的一颗月饼
味道还不错!
老公对这颗月饼情有独钟
特地从Gardens买一颗来sayang
不同凡响的小幸福
茶味很浓
今年没有月光会
但我们还是有好康=P
在院子里玩了整个钟头
也喂饱了好多饥饿的蚊子><
去年今日此门中   人面桃花相映红
人面不知何处去   桃花依旧笑春风

星期天 · 晚餐

简单温馨的星期天晚餐

酱烤杏鲍菇 + 煎鸡柳 + 鱼柳 platter

这条鱼有点大
在鱼身上划三刀 下锅前撒点盐 拍点粉
用小火两面煎熟 起锅前淋上甜酱油

用鲍鱼汁快炒的豌豆苗

最近蚂蚁又在厨房里为所欲为
才一部戏的时间
它们就来欺负我放在盘子里解冻的鱼
却对旁边煲汤用的猪骨无动于衷
=="

Nyonya Dumpling

the last time (and the one and only time)
i wrapped a dumpling on my own was in year 2008
everyone comment that it looked like Loh Mai Kai
.
during my holiday last week
i was being forced to wrap dumpling again
this time... with a 'sifu' guiding at the side
although it's still ugly...
dad commented: 我看到有两粒很丑的~ 一定是你包的。
wahh... need to so 'mm bei mein' mehhh?

at least this time i have all the edges!
n it doesn't look like Loh Mai Kai any more mar...
