Tenggiri Fish with Assam Sauce

like to buy this kind of Tenggiri Fish slice nowdays
because no 'operation' required
n they usually won't stink too much XD


*10 minute before frying
use a little bit of salt to do spa for the fish
*pat fish really dry before sending it into the frying pan
*heat up some oil (make sure it's hot before the fish goes in)
*fry for 5-6 min on each side - leave aside on the plate
*heat up the remaining oil in the pan
*saute some pounded lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves,
chopped ginger, garlic n shallot until fragrant
*pour in some assam paste n water
*sprinkle some sugar n salt
*cook until gravy thicken
*shower on the fried fish
*serve hot ^^

Guava Smoothie

having 2 big guava in the fridge
i hate chewing on hard guava~
only love those fully ripen lembik lembik ones
therefore,
i took out my blender n make it smoothie
should have taken out the seeds before blending
 while drinking need to busy pooi pooi pooi...
so disturbing~

but it's 100% real fruit smoothie though~
yumph!

Steamed Chicken Roll in Herbal Sauce

been knowing about this rolled chicken for many years already
no mood to try until now =P
the original recipe was suppose to be in very clear herbal sauce
i find it not enough kick~ so i made my own kao-kao version
with these:
sliced ginger, sliced red date 红枣,
wolf berries 枸杞, american ginseng/洋参须, yoke zuk 玉竹

*marinate boneless chicken chop with some salt n rice wine
*roll it up n wrap with aluminium foil
*twist both side like a candy
*steam for half an hour
*take out n let it cool
*cut into slices



for the sauce:
*saute all herbs with a drop of oil for a few seconds
*pour in chicken essense from steaming chicken n some water
*let it cook for 10 minutes
*season with a pinch of sugar (i used honey rock sugar) n salt
*pour on chicken roll, garnish with spring onion n serve


snakie: "wat u did to the chicken? how come the drumstick no bone wan?"
he tot it was chopped chicken drumstick =P
muahahahaaa...

Bak Guah Sandwich

every time after cny
there will always a few packets of Dried Meat (Bak Guah)
 in the house for sure
a few slices is good
but a few packets is no fun...
heat up the 'bak guah' with little toaster oven
(all bubbling excess oil can be easily remove this way)
'kiap' all the sandwich ingredients tat i can find from the fridge
i had cheddar cheese, mayo, tomato sauce,
cucumber, tomato, yellow onion n lettuce
.
super yummy!!!
the crunchiness of the fresh vege make it so heavenly nice!
can beat the 'submarine' neh~

Chap Goh Meh Feast~♥

there goes the Wabbit New Year
in jz a blink-blink~

special lunch menu:
Pandan Fried Rice
with big chunk of Japanese Cucumber =)
炒饭加上小黄瓜~ 无比的清爽

Teriyaki Chicken learnt from MASA sifu
 *marinate chicken chop with
1T mirin, 1T soya sauce n 2T rice wine for 10 min
*grill 1 side of the meat till golden (the side with skin)
*turn to the other side
*throw in shreded yellow onion
*cover n cook for 5-6 min
*pour in marinated sauce
*on big fire until gravy r thicken
*serve
.
succulent proven =)
yummy!
next round i wanna play teriyaki chicken sandwich~

it's Valentine!

power Valentine's sandwich for me, myself n yan ^^
home-made wholemeal bread + cheddar cheese
+ omelette + dried meat + mayo + tomato sauce
+ cucumber + salad vege + ♥

Lemongrass Drinks
a drink i paid rm9 in Belanga to learn =="
 n i modified it to my own cocktail version ^^
lime juice + soda + lemongrass + kaffir lime leaf
+ vodka + whole japanese plum

we old people dun like to go merebut-rebut
in the mall or restaurant with the younsters
so we decided to cincai eat at home
since both of us were busy at work
.
although cincai but it's still Valentine's Day mar...
curi-curi sneaked to supermarket to get ingredients
.
was planning to make Western or Italian
but seems like every big occassion also same thing... boring lor
so i decided to make a special
Localicious Valentine's Meal
with
Grilled Chicken Chop n Pandan Rice Platters ~ ♥
(n one big pot of hearty ABC soup behind the scene)

Chicken Chop:
* slice open those thicker part of the meal
(so tat it'll cook evenly n won't curl up)
*use a fork to poke the meat all over
(the more the merrier - ya... very cruel but it'll get marinated nicely)
*marinate with mirin, pepper, oyster sauce, rice wine
*grill 5-6 mitutes on each side
 with some smashed lemongrass on the grilling pan

Pandan Rice:
*blend shallot, garlic, ginger n pandan leaves into paste
*blend the paste with some salt
 n a spoonful of planta into washed rice
*add water n some smash lemongrass, stir well - cook rice as usual
( i steamed my rice)
 simple yet blissful Valentine's Day
snuggled at home with a great movie
sipping Lemongrass cocktail n munching chocolate cupcake ♥

迷你盆菜 = 碗菜!

人家有盆菜~ 我们家有‘碗菜’!嘻嘻~
本来想说 要似模似样~ 学人家一层层叠的~
还拿了祖母留下的鸡公碗出来
最后放弃了~
没力气呗………………
.
这碗杂菜用了
收在冷冻库里的隔夜烤鸡肉块
年菜用不完的大白菜
和年货里的罐头蘑菇
加上几条鱼饼和萝卜块煮成的
调味料只用了味醂和蚝油
丰裕兼清淡
最适合大吃大喝后的这几天

made 21 cups of these =P
mainly lychee flavour with some canned longan n mixed fruits

nestum cake for the ancestors n family
bunny n carrot made of fondant ^^
(整理照片的时候才发现很像猪兔子~ 鼻子太大了啦)
