Understanding - Bubble Stamp Booklet

4.25"w x 5"h x 1/4" thk.
I had these rubber stamped pages from a long time ago... I had used one of my extra large stamps and embossed with various colors of embossing powder (gold, copper, silver, black), then colored in some of the bubbles using Prisma Colored pencils primarily and one with some w/c.

I wrote synonyms of the word "understanding" on 1"h white cardstock with the arrow shape at the tip. Adhered to each page (one below the other on subsequent pages). Bound the booklet using an accordion glued spine.

I added “do you UNDERSTAND” on the last page…

Danish - A Day Wasted

I saw a black/white design of these circular shapes (next post...) but didn't really want to do black and white... When I looked at them they reminded me of Danish with icing (haven't had one of those in eons...).
size: 4.25"w x 6"h
On Canson Pen & Ink paper, Distress & Tombow markers. Text written with a marker and colored.
words: A day without a Danish is a day wasted.

Doodle - Grand Mosaic

Just playing again... I did that colored area first and then just let it sit since I didn't know what to do next... You can't see it in this image but I used clear heat embossing powder to give a shine and dimension to those colored blobs...
size: 4.25"w x 6"h
On Canson Pen & Ink paper, Prisma colored pencils, Zig Writer. Text written with a Zig Calligraphy marker (Baby Blue).
words: I am but a small shard in a grand mosaic. Fred Crane

Circle Booklet - Hllarious Crooked Puns

A friend sends me funny sayings and things and this time it was hilarious crooked puns and then another friend had just made a circle booklet and I thought it would be perfect for these puns. It's so good to have friends that inspire me...
The last time I made one of these structures was in Oct 2023.
size: 4"sq x 1/2" thk
This time I used 2 scalloped circle dies from Spellbinders cutting white cardstock (16 large scalloped circles and 14 inner decorative circles..) Cover done in funky lettering and Prisma Colored Pencils. Wrote in my Pun text using a ZIG Writer. Colored each circle's dots with a rainbow color and then clear embossed them (I've been in a rainbow mood lately,,,)
Since there are so many circles I thought I'd make a box for them. Added Sari ribbon to hold it closed since the top comes off and a title on a scalloped circle.

Sparkle And Shine

I was in another one of my moods... this time for something sparkly... So pulled out a bunch of my various brands and colors of sparkles...
size: 6"w x 4.25"h
Outlined the word "Sparkle" and filled with diluted glue and sprinkled with glitter. With the 1st and 2n letter I was still getting a hang of the glue... For the word shine, I filled it using an embossing pen that had a pink tone to it (which I didn't realize before I started using it...) and then sprinkled with clear embossing powder.
Finally added the shadows with a Zig Writer.

words:
Sparkle and Shine

BVCG Lettering Challenge - Oct 2020 - Day 12 and 13

As mentioned previously I came across another Art Deco typeface created by Olga Ryzycneko called "Decolot" which I also fell in love with. So decided to use that typeface to create my words for the 2nd week of the challenge. I also was in a mood to use colored cardstock. I'm using Emerald Creek - Quietfire Design Modern Gilding powder "Kells Gold"

Thermal Embossed Handwriting

I was watching Tim's Saturday's Facebook video and in among everything was mention of Resist Spray as an adhesive. All of a sudden my mind went to calligraphy...

I've tried a lot of different ways to emboss my calligraphy and have never been happy with the results. I also find the standard felt tip or sponge tipped embossing pens create too fat lettering. UGH!! I had an embossing ball point pen that really worked beautifully, but I used it all up and haven't come across another one yet.

So I did a bit of experimenting with the Resist Spray liquid. Yes it's liquid and I can dip my pointed pen nib into it. Alleluia. It's like the 3 bears story.. Too much ink and you get bubbling in the embossing. Too little ink and it dries to quickly so the embossing powder doesn't stick. Just the right amount of pressure and I'm happy. This takes a bit of practice and getting used to the medium and pressure needed. I will need to play some more... I used Emerald Creek - Quietfire Design - Modern Gilding Powders.

Then I started thinking again and decided to try my glue pens. The Sakura Quickie Glue pen gave me really good results and the Zig 2 Way Glue pen gave me good results as well but thicker lettering.

I also came across someones blog post where they said to empty the contents of the Zig pen and fill it with Versamark. I know I tried Versamark for calligraphy eons ago and found it too thick for writing. It didn't flow.

So until I experiment again on another laid back day... have a great one.
