February's page is the last of the Yalpha Mingle pages. Sigh... As I usually do when learning a new technique or something, I try to put into practice right away. Reinforces the instructions into my grey matter... BIG GRIN So that's what I did for this mingle page. Designed a husked heart and added a husked dragonfly. The fiber is attached to a card that pulls out with a bunch of humorous jokes and quotes. Click on image to go to my website for detail pic and details. Enjoy

Yalpha Mingle For Dec08
Well I've been productive today. Finished my Yalpha mingle page (accordion style) for this month and then some xmas ATC's which I'll upload later.
This month' mingle is the letter "Q" for quilling, which I've been having fun doing recently, then it's also for quotes which I love, and the quotes deal with Quality and the last quote deals with the word Quit. I think I did pretty good covering the spectrum of "Q's".

Yalpha Mingle for Nov
Just finished my Nov Yalpha mingle, just in the nick of time too. I was sure I was going to be late this month. Phew as I wipe my brow... I also went a little overboard as usual. It's a 6 page accordion folded booklet, using of course that split Uncial hand I recently have been playing with. Ecoline inks that are so clear and vibrant. I'm happy with the piece, although my spacing could be greatly improved upon. I didn't do any preliminary layout and of course that shows up to me... But it's readable which is more than I can say for some artwork I've seen. Click on image to see larger images and descriptions etc.

Yalpha Mingle for Oct
Well I'm still without internet service. Not funny
I'm not able to upload stuff to my web, so I'm limping along with pics on my blog. Sheesh
I chose the letter "e" for Embossing Paste. Since I was recently doing some testing and sampling with the stuff I figured i might as well send off some samples of what I'm doing. Eventually this will all be on my web site.
OK it's 1:40 Calgary time and I'm now re-connected again. So you can click on the image to view the other pages and descriptions. Enjoy

Yalpha Mingle for August
I had this irresistible urge to use buttons. So I pulled out my button drawer (I have a lottttttt of buttons) and started messing around in there. Since I hadn't used the letter "B" yet I thought I'd use it for August's Yalpha mingle. I had fun with it and boy this is not a light weight or skinny page... Whoever gets it, I hope they enjoy it.

Another Mingle Page done for July
I was checking out Lorraine Douglas's blog and came across a recent broadside she made using a funky style of Nueland. I'm fickle and I fell in love again... Not all the letters were represented in the broadside, so I played a bit and came up with letters I really am content with. Click on pic to see other pics and descriptions. Enjoy

One envelope done & my Yalpha mingle for July
My first of three envelopes done for July --- Ahead of time. Sheesh. I'm kinda in a foul mood. It's taking ages to copy and transfer my files to my desktop. I'm having to re copy because the CD's are for the pits or the XP on the desktop is for the pits. Maybe both. Who knows. But you don't want to be near me at the moment. And in between this waiting, I'm trying to create.
Even in this foul mood I'm happy with what I've been creating.
Also finished my mingle page for July and I chose the letter "R" for roses.

Yalpha Mingle for June
I've usually got my Yalpha Mingle done by this time of the month, but hadn't even decided on what letter to use or which direction to go in.
Then I was experimenting with something I wanted to use for one of my Stampede pieces. And I'm looking at this little experiment and it clicked, LIGHT BULB TIME, "cut it to 4.5 x 4" and you have your mingle page. Luckily I do experiments in more central areas of my paper rather than in little corners so I had room all around for the right spacing.
I've never done this before, but I was thinking woodworkers do it all the time when they are creating inset artwork, so why not with paper. I really wanted a black background, but the style of Decorated Capital I wanted to do needed to be done on white. I used one of the lettering styles from my recent Thomas Hoyer class. I love it. I'm glad I will be making a larger version, because I will be sorry to see this one go. I also seem to be working a lot with black. I wonder why.

Yalpha Mingle for May
Well my Yalpha mingle for May is done and I picked the letter "C". The C is cut out of some previously decorated paper using the Luminous Marble technique from Julia Andru's book Papers Transformed. When you click on the image it will take you to my web page with links to the technique etc. I ran the three cat brass stencil through my Cuttlebug and put some rub ons on thehigh points. The back uses some of my borwn Alcohol background paper. Enjoy

Yalpha Mingles for April
Well I finished 2 Yalpha Mingles today. I'm only uploading one at the moment, because the other one, when you see it, you'll know right away who it's for, so I'll wait till Thursday to upload that one. I was in an off the page kind of mood today. Probably a sign of frustration since I wasn't able to get the XP environment onto my computer and decided to put it aside till tomorrow. Sheesh, all I want is for this new Epson printer to work.
