Art Of The Fold - Hexagon Alphabet Booklet

Our May (Art of the Fold) challenge is to create a Hexagon Booklet  that Mary Conley gave us the instructions for. This one was done from an 8.5" x 9" piece of Bogus Recycled Sketch Paper. that was laying around...

Size closed: 2"sq
I used a hexagon punch to make a master piece and then traced around it to get all my hex's down on my Bogus paper. Cut my slits and around the perimeter  and inked a border using a Zig Writer.. I then created a smaller hex template for my geli print paper from more scraps... at around 1.25"w x 1.5"h. Adhered them to the larger hexagons.
I had these black die cut letters (Tim Holtz /Alterations/Vintage Market/Sizzlets Decorative Strip) from another project so decided to use them... Edged them with a gold Krylon pen.

Wax Seals - Y, For You, Good Luck

While playing with my Crafty friends I played with some old and new wax seals getting better at multiple layers. Some are still a little wonky...

The 3 lower stamps "For You"  and "Good Luck" is a new technique I tried. Never seen it done before. I used 2 separate wax seals, it was tricky... I did the word seal first, Then I did the round frame separately. Put it back into my seal, added some translucent wax around the edges of the word seals and pressed my round frame into the soft wax. You can see a little overspill. Will have to figure out how to eliminate that without putting the translucent all over the stamp...

Workshop Week 2024 - Wax Seals

Taught by Betsy Goodman
I like the way these turned out...
I punched out a heart from a gelli print, then dripped glue from my glue gun for the upper left one, pressed my seal into the glue. When cooled hit the high points with a Krylon gold leafing pen.

The other 3 were wax - pink just dripped. The other 2 had 2 colors of wax melted into the dripping spoon and poured without mixing. All with the gold added.
