Sept/19 - Accordion Booklet - ECD Happy Birthday My Friend - You Can Never

This is a card I saw on Quietfire Design "Letters Live" video last Thursday given by Kathy Jo. I loved the way the pages were attached. Something new for me. I just got my order from Stampin Up "Best Catch" along with a few others for another day... Also at our last gal's get together, one of the gals gave me this used drier sheet... Sheesh these guys are constantly giving me things to see what I will come up with. BIG GRIN. I guess I will be surprising them

MC Apr/16 - Off Set 3D Double Diamond Card - White Dress - ECD Live, Love, Laugh - Celebrate HB

Finally made a box design for the most recent dress form I made when teaching the gals at the last quilling session. A little on the complex side BIG GRIN, and quite oversized, but love the way it turned out. Love Anna Griffin embossing folders. They are just so feminine. And of course love my heirloom hybrid roses.

MC Mar/16 - Accordion Fold Dress Card - ECD Dream & Happy Birthday - Paris

It's been a couple years since I made a dress card... One of my quilling friends asked for one that I had made a while back for her birthday... And when she got it, the rest of the gals wanted one too and then they were asking me to teach them how to make one... So I figured I'd better brush up on doing it again. BIG GRIN. This time I incorporated it with the accordion fold frame that I had taught them a while back. They've probably forgotten it. sigh!! so I might have to show them that again too. We'll see. Anyway love the way it turned out and love the Paris in the spring time background stamp. The dress just reminds me of spring.

A Way With Words - ECD - Best Wishes Black & Silver - Christmas is a piece of home

Welcome to A Way With Words!  Each day during this event Quietfire Creations will be sharing projects made with the brand new Elizabeth Craft Designs  (ECD) word dies.  All these designs are from original hand lettering by Suzanne Cannon and can be found on the Quietfire Design site.

I received my sample dies recently and couldn't wait to use them BIG GRIN. Today's card uses "Best Wishes" (at Elizabeth Ccraft Designs and at Quietfire Design)

I was driving along and all of a sudden I had this urge to die cut real leather...it's the way my mind wanders... So went into my leather drawer and found this black suede leather with silver markings on it. I remember buying it along time ago with several other pieces... 

It die cut beautifully. I didn't even bother backing it.

Then I decided to use the new cardstock pad I recently bought at Michael's "Silver Foil" - a really good deal... 

Side folded my white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Cut the silver striped cardstock the size I wanted, adhered it to a black cardstock and used my layering ruler to cut a 1/16" border all around. Adhered a piece of silver wired ribbon vertically and wrapped it around the top and bottom edge, then adhered all of that to the card front. Tied a silver bow for later.

Stamped the holly corner (Penny Black "Holly Scroll set") onto white cardstock, scanned it and created a silhouette image to import into my electronic cutting machine (saves fussy cutting...). Cut out a bunch of them (a few for later projects), stamped onto the cut out using Distress "Pumice Stone". Used QoR watercolors to paint the leaves. Adhered the holly corner to the card front and then added the Liquid Pearls "White Opal" pearls to each berry. When dry, touched it with a black Bic marker. Glued the bow using hot glue.
 
Adhered the leather words using PVA glue.

On the inside stamped the same holly corner using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Painted with the Qor paints and when dry, outline the leaves using a gold gel pen and added white gel pen dots to the berries.

Stamped the quote ("Christmas is a Piece of Home") with the black and clear embossed.

MC Mar/15 - Spring Dress Card - Smile - Sing As If - HB

And I made another of the dress cards... Actually this was the first one I started making, but then got side tracked to make the white card which you can see HERE and now went back to finish the spring card... I love them both sigh!!

This one uses quote and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design on the inside and a couple of Suzanne's eCut files available from the Silhouette onLine store.

 And another card I saw on Pinterest (sorry no link to the author...) that intrigued me. I'm not in to dolls per se... but I used to love sewing my own clothes and remember making a skirt and matching blouse that was very similar to this one (although it was in black's and white's)...

MC Oct/14 - Arianna Blooms - There is Always & A Hug cards

And last but not least... the last two cards from my card making session. BIG GRIN.The Arianna Blooms is one of my latest stamp acquisitions... (there are a few more that I haven't used yet...). I'm also using a tool set from Ten Second Studios - meant for shaping metal but works great for shaping flowers...

One of the challenges called for using fabric... so I adhered some to cardstock and die cut it.
