Opaque Envelope Exchange/08

I joined an "Opaque Envelope Exchange" this year and these are the 3 envelopes for the people I was expected to mail to. I love each of them and each for a different reason. The black one is just so bold and up in your face. The dark green one makes me think of springs past and my mom's favorite flower, the brown one makes me think of hot summer days when life was easy. They were all created on the same day and I guess my memories were just swamping me. The link on the pic will take you to the Envelope gallery and "AT THE MOMENT" they are the first three on that page.

Last two envies for July are done.

I finished the other two envelopes for July. Yahoo!! Picked up a new stamp set from Darkroom Door "Full Bloom Vol 2". Very pretty set with orchid florets and a Dendrobium sprig and lovely quotes, so I wanted to make something with it. I'm happy with the results.

Then I was cruising some rubber stamp stuff and a spark ignited... the next envelope uses the concept I saw but instead of rubber stamping I used dry embossing. You've probably all seen these beautiful script type stamps with a large flower on top of the script background. Looks so beautiful. But since I don't have one of them, mainly because I find them very limiting, I created my version. And of course both envelopes also use Pan Pastels. Enjoy

One envelope done & my Yalpha mingle for July

My first of three envelopes done for July --- Ahead of time. Sheesh. I'm kinda in a foul mood. It's taking ages to copy and transfer my files to my desktop. I'm having to re copy because the CD's are for the pits or the XP on the desktop is for the pits. Maybe both. Who knows. But you don't want to be near me at the moment. And in between this waiting, I'm trying to create.

Even in this foul mood I'm happy with what I've been creating.

Also finished my mingle page for July and I chose the letter "R" for roses.

Decorated Envelope Exchange 208

Here are the other two envelopes I needed to make for June. I used Pan pastels for the backgrounds with touches of colored pencils. Love the new stamps that were just issued of Anne of Green Gables. I'm partial to that stamp having lived in PEI for several years. I also love the colors of the duck stamps that were issued a few years ago. I seem to be on this yellowish streak lately.

Anyway, enjoy.

Decorated Envelope Exchange

One envelope for June done, 2 more to go...

I'm really trying to stay even, or maybe get ahead. So finished one of the envelopes for this month's swap. I've wanted to use the Year of the Monkey International stamp for quite some time, but very rarely post internationally. Now was my chance. Enjoy.

Decorated Envelope Exchange 08

These are my envelopes for April for my Decorative Envelope Exchange 08 I'm hosting. I'm enjoying it immensly. We're all really creating such wonderful artwork.

I went a little bit on a tangent for Robert's. Tried out doing one of those Ornamental Versal letters for Nadine, and a vine type for Cheryl. I'm happy with the results, although the postage stamps might have been placed in a better area on Robert's. Too late now, they're stuck down...
April 14th: I've also just uploaded the Thanx ATC's I make for everyone.

Yogi's Decorated Envelope Exchange

Hi all
I tried getting on a decorated envelope exchange and was told I was too late. Sheesh. So I asked to put my name down for next year's list. Then I got to thinking - WHY WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR???So I've decided to put out a call for anyone wanting to join me in a Decorative Envelope Exchange.

You will be expected to create and mail 1 envelope per month for 12 months.

The due date for mailing the first one will be the last day of Dec 2007 so it arrives at its destination in January of 2008.

The last mailing for this exchange will be the last day of Nov 2008 to arrive in December 2008 to close the year.

Decorate your envelope (the largest dimension for an entry is 7" (width or height) except for #10 business envelopes, which are permitted), using any "hand created" artistic techniques you like (not computer generated). It does not have to be calligraphic but is appreciated if it is. Try to incorporate beautiful postage stamps to make the artwork even more pleasing.

Ensure sufficient postage for odd sized envelopes.Put your return address on the back of the envelope. Images may be posted of the envelope, with the persons address on front distorted or removed.

Include in the envelope a description of the techniques and or supplies used to create your envelope, and mail to the person on a MASTER LIST I will generate.

Real easy and not a big commitment.

Closing date for joining is Nov 30, 2007

Please enter a message in the comments to let me know if you would like to join. I will send you a confirmation e-mail to say i rec'd your request.

I hope we get lots of people from far away places. I would love to get beautiful cancelled postage stamps from foreign countries.
