ATC Exchange 2022 - Sumi Ink Series

Continuing on after Julie's ZOOM class we decided to exchange ATC's every other month for the next year. Our fifth trade should be mailed by July 15th... We're a total of 11 participants.

Thought I'd create a 2nd set for July's exchange. I don't know how the encaustic series will hold up in the mail...

ATC Exchange Nov 2021 _ Holiday Theme

Julie Wildman has organized an ATC exchange for every other month ending in September 2022. We're 10 players, so a bit of work BIG GRIN.

Here is what I created for November including the envelopes done in Weaver style writing.

 

 

Xmas Triptychs - On Black

 

For my last 2 of the 10 triptychs I needed to make, I thought I'd do some on black cardstock using my Kuretake Mica inks.

Pencil To Paper & Illumination Triptych ATC's

Further to the class I took on the weekend with Ann Purdy "Pencil To Paper" I had created a "J" that was too large for an ATC - sigh, so that one became a greeting card which you'll see in another post...

So then I created the "O" the right size...

I also caught part of Cheryl Tefft's Illumination ZOOM class held by the Edmonton Calligraphy Society - it was held during my in person class... so couldn't really catch it till I got home and watched the last hour. So decided to combine the 2 techniques. I really like the results of this set of triptychs.

I had created this background during class but couldn't remove the masking fluid in time to use it... Couldn't find my rubber cement eraser. Sheesh... Finally found it.

I love making triptychs, so for the Xmas ATC exchange I joined, I thought I'd do triptychs and have lots of room to play on... A bit more work but I think worth it BIG GRIN.

And the last one from day 3... I like making triptychs. More room to put stuff on it...And I'm using Ranger's glossy accents on the large letters. Gives a nice sheen and dimension.

ATC's Abstract Series 3

And the last in the Abstract series this one done with Sumi and colored pencils. Actually this is really the 1st series which I didn't like because I put a quote on the middle card in portrait mode. The other 2 ATC's had too much white space in portrait mode and I didn't like the middle ATC being sandwiched by 2 landscape ATC's looked funny... So hence the funny orientation of design elements...

Day 3 of Julie Wildman's Calligraphy ATC class. I really likes some of the samples using unreadable type writing, coloring within areas and then cutting them into ATC's. So thought I'd make a few... The word on top of the ATC's is the actual artwork before cutting it up...

ATC's - Bleach On Black series. I signed up for another class with Julie Wildman, this time making ATC's. In uploading to my website I realized I stopped making them in 2011. Sheesh that's over 10 years ago. I started in around 2005 and was a really avid ATC'er. There were a bunch of us that were trading like crazy and then for some reason I can't remember, we stopped... Must admit it's fun doing them...
