Easter Blessings

Morning!  There are some beautiful Easter projects over on the Elizabeth Craft Design Blog today, including my card below.  Check it out for some inspiration!

Even though those flowers are gorgeously 3D, my card came together very quickly.  I die cut the ECD Garden Notes Lily 2 set 3 times, used a very light green Copic down the center of the petals and then added a very light yellow at the base of each petal, letting it fade to white.  Assemble and attach onto card with a lilac Blessings die cut (available both at ECD and Quietfire Design.)

CCNS78 Some Bunny says Hello

Hi!  I'm sharing a Easter/spring themed card with us inspired by this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  I had just gotten some new goodies from the on-line store so I couldn't wait to play.  First, I played with the Smoky Peridot from the Twinkling H2O's Thankful collection to make my grass with the Impression Obsession Grass Border die.  I then die-cut a set of bunnies with Springtime Bunnies on white card stock.  For my base layer which was the the stitched rectangle from MFT Blueprint 13, I embossed some chevron stripes using a Darise embossing folder and then sponged Broken China in just a small area.  I arranged my die cuts on the sponged area and adhered the grass and two of the bunnies with Crystal Effect.  The last bunny I popped up with small Joy! foam pads. I added a mini tag with a sentiment from ODBD Ornate Frame Sentiments that was also popped up and threaded through with green twine.  And of course I had to use my new water Dew Drops - loving these!

I hope you can play along!

ODBDSLC231 Easter Inspiration

Welcome to the Easter Inspiration challenge this week at Our Daily Bread Designs.  Easter cards are just not sent out as often as Christmas cards though I think both days are equally important to our faith.  His resurrection is key and unique to Christianity.  So here's to more Easter cards!

Again, I just love this paper from ODBD and I didn't want to cover it up too much.  This month's new release has this wonderful background stamp of the hymn Christ Has Risen Today.  I used that to emboss on top of one of my shabby rose paper in white embossing powder.  I then trimmed it down with the largest pierced die from ODBD Flourished Star Pattern.  I stacked the larger cross from the Ornamental Crosses set 4 layers thick and then the smaller cross also four layers thick with the top being Pucker Me Pink craft metal sheet.  Finally, I added some thin ribbon and an Easter greeting from Earth's Gladdest Day cut with a Mini Tag Dies.  I used a very narrow ribbon to make a bow for the tag.  I hope you like it!

Easter Lily

Good morning!  I had such a lovely time this weekend with some dear old friends that I forgot to post this so I'm doing it very quickly now before the little one awakes.  I used a Cuttlebug folder (Modern Wallpaper, I think) after I die-cut a white base with my favorite stitched die from MFT Blueprint 13 (I know - you're probably tired of me using this but I can't help it!)  Instead of centering that onto my card base, I lined it up in the top right corner to go with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.  I added my sentiment from ODBD Earth's Gladdest Day and a MFT Lily Die-namics colored with Copics.  I used some pink striped washi tape - I think I'm loving this look so don't be surprised if you see it again!

Three Days Apart

This week's Shining the Light Challenge at ODBD is to make an Easter card that celebrates the true meaning of Easter which to me must include the cross.  I also wanted to make a card that was mostly white because He made us white as snow by dying on the cross for us.  I love the pink dogwoods and their symbolism.  The dogwood symbolism is tied to the crucifixion of Jesus. Legend, says dogwood was the wood used for the crucifixion cross and because of that, God ordered from that day forward the dogwood tree would never grow tall, but be cursed to be twisted and short. The center of the dogwood blossoms have clustered fruit resembling the crown of thorns.  Here I used some gold glitter for the center.  Thanks for looking!

Let me Rest

I tried a new technique where you embed the die-cut back into the negative space.  The vellum was a little too thin to go back into the space properly so I glued it onto the white foliage swirl to lift it up some.  I also used pink vellum for the little flowers.  The cross was die-cut several times for thickness.  Thanks for looking!

North Coast Creation March Release Look Back

Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations March Release.  For my card, I stamped, colored and then fussy cutted the bunny and some flowers and popped him up in front of the basket image.  They were just begging to be put on a card together.  Hope you like it and thank you so much for looking!
