Power Poppy: Tweet Tidings

I hope you’re having a great weekend everyone!  Today is Day 7 of Power Poppy’s newest and most fabulous Happiest Holiday 2017 release.

Today’s stamp set showcases the sweetest little chickadees. If you loved our digital “Chickadee in Barberry” stamp then you’ll love our fabulous clear stamp set!

Introducing… Tweet Tidings

For my card I wanted to share that sweet single Chickadee.  These little birds remind me of my childhood as my Dad built these cool bird feeders and we put them outside the living room window and we’d have all the little birds including Chickadees come and visit for a snack in the winter.  So dear to my heart…

Power Poppy: Introducing... Under Glass & a Blog Hop

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today is the final day of our “Abundance” collection Sneak Peeks!  Yup… we’ve had 5 new and super detailed beauties come into the Power Poppy shop.

Our Power Poppy final stamp set is…. (drum roll please!)….Under Glass”!

The concept for this stamp set is that these are all vignettes that can work on their own OR under the glass dome (also called a cloche), which is a super old time way to keep plants warm in chilly temperatures, but is now a hugely popular design trend for displaying cute stuff!!

I just HAD to use the nautical vignette because it would totally fit into my home decor.

And here’s a close up of my Copic colouring of my cloche.  I used some white gel pen to achieve some of the highlights on the glass.
COPICS: Coffee Pot: W0, W2, R08, R14, B97  Sand/Shellfish: E00, E31, E33, E34, E35, Y23, Y32, YR12

I decided to go a little more country with my card today…

Introducing… Orchids Rock!

Welcome to Day 1 of our five day clear stamp reveal for Power Poppy!  For our first day, we are introducing you to… Orchids Rock!

This stamp set is packed full of gorgeously delicate exotic beauties for you to colour!  And it has a load of great sentiments too!  Perfect to rock someone's mailbox with... :)

Orchids Rock by Allison Cope for Power Poppy
For my card today, I had been dreaming about making a gradient back ground of  purples and reds and I knew the voluptuous Lady Slipper Orchid from this stunning stamp set would be the perfect for a back ground like this!

I die cut my oval and then used my Copic Airbrush System to create the fade of purple to the deep reds using V06, R35, R56.  I then coloured my stamped orchid using Copics as well, fussy cut it out, sculpted it with a ball stylus and then added it to the stitched on oval back ground using foam adhesive.

And here’s a close up of that popped up orchid…

Introducing… Frosted Gingerbread!

Frosted Gingerbread stamps Power Poppy
It's Day 3 and we’ve got another doozey for you from Power Poppy today!

This little beauty will be sure to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours.  It’s called “Frosted Gingerbread” and it’s full of cute, non-sticky images and sweet messages for all those holiday cards!

So I began my card using some simple die cut layers.  I stamped my adorable gingerbread house from the stamp set onto white cardstock and coloured it up using Copic Markers.

Then I carefully added some Liquid Applique to the snowy aspects of the house, let it dry and then applied some heat to make the solution puffy!  I love the texture it leaves…

Introducing… Bottlebrush Holiday!

Welcome to the first official day of our Power Poppy release!  Are you as excited as I am?

Today the Bloom Brigade is going into the crafty woodlot and creating with the fabulous new “Bottlebrush Holiday” stamp collection.  This set just makes me giddy… there are so many cute images with the bottlebrushes PLUS there is a ton of great sentiments too!  It’s a favourite for the holidays for sure!

For my card today, I knew I wanted to work with a non-traditional holiday colour scheme so I found this cute ornate swirly patterned paper from Authenique and it was red, cream, white and light blue in colour so that was my starting point.

I used some rich Memento “Rhubarb Stalk” ink to stamp the adorable “HO” images and then added some shading to the wreathes and the H’s using Copic Markers.  A cute little light blue bow and my card was complete!

Now join the remainder of the Bloom Brigade with me and take a stroll on over to all of their blogs.  I know you won’t regret it at all!

I thought it turned out rather kinda cool!  So come on over and play along with us this week.

Introducing... Lavender!

We have the start of the newest release for Power Poppy today!  Our very first stamp set for June is the stunning new “Lavender”.  This beautiful stamp set is packed with four gorgeous images and 9 wonderful sentiments.   It’ll make you wanna go out and pick up some lavender for sure!  I just love that smell!

Here is my lovely lavender creation for you today…

I began by stamping the 3 stems of lavender with Memento “Elderberry” ink and then I coloured them in using Copic Markers.  For my sentiment, I stamped it using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white powder.  Super simple!

I even added a bit of sparkle to my lavender blooms!

Now… check out what my fellow Bloom Brigade members have instore using this beautiful stamp set…

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Cute!

Howdy fellow card creators! It's Wednesday and it's just in time to create another fun card using the newest Splitcoaststamper Card Sketch!

Last week I went supply shopping and I just couldn't resist the latest and most super cute patterned paper by Authentique called "Anchored". It is nautical themed and there is just something SO cute about this paper that I just had to have it!

http://authentiquepaper.com/products/Anchored

So in order to honour the theme of the paper I was trying to think of what I had that was nautical in nature and then I remember that Mo Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil had some cute little sailor images!  I had already bought the whole collection of the little sailor cuties; "Sailor Boys" in my digital folder so I used the little boy with the sailboat as my main image.  I loved the way Mo coloured him in her example image so I used it as my guideline for colours and shading.  I used Copic Markers to colour in my little boy and my Copic airbrush to create the soft back ground behind him.

I didn't want my little sailor fella to be a flat image so I printed him out 3 times on my laser printer and coloured and layered each piece of him to get a more dimensional image.  I think he turned out adorable!!!   I'd have to say... one of my most favourite cards EVER
For my other nautical details, I used my Silhouette and a cut file entitled "Nautical Set" to cut, create and layer an anchor themed paper strip and a cute little boat captain's wheel for my tag element.  I cut everything out of the fabulous "Anchored" paper collection so it would match perfectly.

Come and play along with us over at Splitcoaststampers today and join in this week's Card Sketch!

I'm also sharing this card for this week's Mo's Digital Challenge this week: #224 - Anything Goes With a Mo Image!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!   Happy stamping!

And Finally, Introducing... So Distressed!

Here we are at our last day of November Sneak Peek Sets! Do you sometimes look at your blank sheet of card stock and think, “I wish there was a way I could warm it up or add some interest or texture without taking anything away from the main image?" Or have you been longing to get your fingers inky and dabble in the mixed media craze? Well, we’re ready for you! Introducing...

SoDistressedGraphic
With Mixed Media all the rage, why not add a background set to your bag of creative tricks? This pattern and background set offers all kinds of images that can be used on their own, or as a way to add "texture" to your cards or creations. The options are endless! How about trying to layer these images for even more fun? This set measures 4" by 6". Our team loved getting inky with this clever set, so hop on over for some creative inspiration.

When I first saw this stamp set, I actually jumped for join!  Being a scrapbooker and a card maker, I enjoy tinkering with all kinds of mixed media projects and I knew the "So Distressed" stamp set would become one of my all-time-favs and I knew I'd be using it A LOT!  Since I love to experiment with these kinds of images, I actually have two cards to share with you today.

For my first card, I started with a card base of "Thunder" cardstock from the Cool Neutrals Cardstock collection.  Then I created a simple mat using Classic Kraft Cardstock.  Then I cut 2 pieces of patterned paper and applied some of the stamp textures to the edges of my papers...

For my embellishments, I twisted some 'Smoke Grey' Seam Binding (yum... my new favourite "black"!) and some Silver Metallic String and I accompanied it with a beautiful Emerald Coast button and fun star pin.

The minute I saw the chevron stamp, I immediately thought of that traditional strip on the "air mail" envelops and so I created a faux mini envelop as part of Christmas card design.

Below is a close up of my card.  Inside this shot, I used four of the many texture stamps from this set... the "coffee stain", the "ink drops", the "graphic mini dot", the double row "distressed dots" and the "chevron".  I used Memento "London Fog" ink and Ranger's "Vintage Photo" ink for all my stamping.

And of course, I had to finish off the inside.  I used almost all of the stamps from the "So Distressed" set for this one; including the "Snow Day" set to add my skates to the corner and the "Christmas Candles" stamp set for the Merry Christmas greeting.

Here is my second creation.  I decided to go even more "mixed media" for this one!

To start my card, I used some Classic Black cardstock for my card base and then some matting using "Desert Marigold" cardstock (from the Sunflower Cardstock Collection) and "Festive" (from the Tiger Lily Cardstock Collection).
I started off my focal piece by embossing a piece of Classic White Cardstock.  Then I inked up the "graphic mini dot" with some Memento "Tuxedo Black" Ink and very carefully applied it to the raised surface of the embossed paper.  Then I used a ink blending tool and rubbed in some Ranger Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade.

Then I applied a layer of watered-down layer of white acrylic paint and added a few more areas of fresh "graphic mini dot" stamps in black ink again.  Here's a close up... you can see all the teeny, tiny little dots on the raised parts of the paper...

I even took the time to add some "distressing" to my Tailor-Made Classic Tag with the images from one of our other November release stamp sets, "Grab a Cup".  I attached it with a loop of Black Jute.

I hope I've inspired you to create today!  I know you are going to LOVE this new stamp set!

And, while you’re hopping remember, we have one more day of….
