Cheery Lynn Designs - Think Spring

Hi and Good Morning :) Well whats happened to spring??  We still have white stuff here in Scotland and its fffffreezing!

My card today is for our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs where this week our theme is 'Think Spring'.  This gave me a lovely excuse to create something light, warm and fresh.  As always our winner will receive a $20 voucher to spend online in the Cheery Lynn store, and over the next few weeks were are looking for guest designers too, with a very generous store credit to get you started!

For my card, I used a 6 x 6 white card blank, and stitched Prima Papers onto white American Crafts cardstock.  This same card, and aqua blue bazzil card was used for all the dies on this card, and they came out beautifully. :)

I cut the gorgeous Dainty Dutch Deco frame (I love this!) and added fanciful flourish and mini flourish die-cuts, before adding a cute Penny Black image matted onto Scalloped and Square stackers.  I then layered the victorian picket fence on top, and cut out some stunning daisies in various sizes from the daisy strip die - this is such a timesaver!  I layered the daisies and held them together with a brad and then use card-candi over the top to soften the look.  I finally added some smaller daisies, leaves, butterflies, dragonfly and tag, and finished the look off with some pearls and twine.

All dies used on this card are:

I hope you find time to join in this week, theres still plenty of time to enter.  Dont forget to checkout the rest of the talented DT creations over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

Have a smashing week, and thanks so much for visiting today.

Sweet Stampin - Gingham

1st Post of the Day

Hi and Good Morning & Happy Weekend! :) Yay!

My first card today (for yes, there will be more........) is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where this week our theme is 'Gingham'.    We are sponsored by the fabulous Stamp and Create, and also our brilliant monthly sponsor The Ribbon Girl.

Now I dont use a lot of gingham, (I prefer stripes and spots) but it does give a really fresh and yet cosy feel to this card.  I used one of my favourite Penny Black images, K&Co paper, ribbon, pearls and wooden charms from stash.  I cant tell you what the bumble-bees and tag dies are, as I am sworn to secrecy until my next post! LOL :)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and I will be back later with some brilliant new release Cheery Lynn dies!

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone has some fabby plans for the Bank Holiday Weekend! :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin where this week the theme is 'Out of the Frame'.  We are sponsored by the brilliant Sew Sweet and our monthly sponsor is the generous Joanna Sheen.  Excellent prizes! :)

Now, 19 years ago on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday my wonderful husband David and I got married at Gretna Green.  I have never remembered the date - lol, so we always just celebrate on the Bank Holiday Monday.  I am not really a gushy romantic (I leave that to him - lol ;) but he is a keen photographer, and I know he will love this card :)

I used a gorgeous Penny Black stamp, Prima Faery Belle papers, Spellbinder dies, twine from Joanna Sheen and camera charm from stash.  As you can see, I have also been giving my mini sewing machine some hammer this week too - I luvs it! :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

A Gem of a Challenge - Animals or Teddies
Penny Black & More - Whiskers or Wings
My Mums Craft Shop - Anniversary - this is my anniversary card for my hubby :)

I might be a little quiet on the grid the next couple of weeks as we have our holidays, but I will still be popping along with my usual posts and visiting when I can.  Have a smashing weekend,

Flora & Fauna - Charisma Cardz

Good Morning :)  Back again today with my card for our new challenge over at Charisma Cardz where this week our theme is 'Flora & Fauna', and we are generously sponsored by The Stamping Boutique.

This was a great excuse to get out my PB's and use this adorable Hedgie image which I coloured with Pro-markers.  I hand-stitched K&Co papers (from my scraps box) onto white bazzil card and punched a border with my favourite MS Doily punch.  I used a mix of Memory Box and Spellbinder dies on this, and a McGill punch for the white fronds.  The flowers are WOC and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat.

I will be entering this card in the below competitions:

Penny Black & More - Whiskers or Wings
Dream Valley - Die Cuts & Punches
Crafters Companion - Best Friends

Celebration - Cheery Lynn Designs

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!

My card for today is for our 'Celebrations' challenge this week over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog, and the lucky winner will recieve a $20 voucher to spend in the online store - brilliant prize! :)

Now I decided to make a Christmas card for our 'Celebrations' theme this week, without using any obvious christmas dies, papers or embellishments just to see if I could still make it look jolly festive! :) lol.

My card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, as this Penny Black stamp is quite large and I didnt want to squish it up or cramp it and I coloured the image with PM's

I hand-stitched Memory Box papers to taupe coloured bazzil card and tucked the Anastasia border just underneath to the left.  I then layered the Horizon Coved reflection die in contrasting colours and the gorgeous little mini-doily was from the Polynesian Sails die (its a little extra in the middle of the die and so cute! :))  I made the flower in the top right using one of the corners from the Lace Corner Deco D die set and used a pearl brad to hold it together.

The wintry looking flower in the bottom left was made using 4 layers of a 3 leaf die and stamen from the Build a Flower set also held together with a pearl brad.

All dies used on this card are:

4 Legged Friends - Sweet Stampin

Well I cant believe its Saturday already, this week has flown by - I think its been all the sun!! ;) lol.  It was certainly tricking trying to photograph my card due to all the rays coming through the window!  :D LOL

My card today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin where this week our theme is '4 legged friends' :)  awww!  We are sponsored by the brilliant Joanna Sheen for our monthly prize and also the fabby Whimsy Stamps for our weekly prize, so 2 chances of winning a great prize :)

I used a cute little Penny Black stamp, and hand-stitched Fizzy Moon and MME papers onto crisp white bazzill card.  I thought I would try just punching 2 sides of the backing card with the MS punch to give it a different look, and I think it turned out ok, and then added some candy pink and white twine in a cross-stitch.

The dies are a mix of Doo-Hickey and spellbinders and the bow is Anna Griffin.

Sweet Stampin - Animals :)

Awww, I was feeling really ready for spring when I made this card, and its not stopped sleeting or trying to snow since! :) lol.

So, our new theme today over at Sweet Stampin is 'Animals', and we are sponsored this week by Di's Digi Downloads, and one of our regular monthly sponsors Joanna Sheen.

I was really chuffed we had this theme, as I always seem to neglect or forget my Penny Black stamps, and they are just lovely to use.   I hand stitched the papers - no idea what they are, as they were from my scraps box, and followed Donna's great sketch on the Sunday Sketch & Stamp blog.  The letters were cut on my digi-cutter.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Joanna Sheen Challenge - Celebration
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - Fabby sketch
Stamptacular Sunday - Seeing spots
Bling it On - New Beginnings
Emerald Faeries - Green & Yellow
By The Cute & Girly - New Beginnings.
Papertake Weekly - Happy Highlights
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Totally Gorjuss - Welcome

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I hope everyone has a smashing weekend!
