Ubisoft has emerged from the shadows to provide details on its next Ezio adventure, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. After a leaked product placement card outed the title last week, the studio today launched a web site for the game and released a fact sheet.
Players will once again become master assassin Ezio and experience what Ubisoft describes as a 15-hour single-player campaign that takes place in the city of Rome. As the title suggests, Ubisoft has also added a new gameplay mechanic in which players recruit and train assassins to create a brotherhood. Those assassins can then be deployed across Rome on missions or be called upon by Ezio to aid him in his quests.
"Defeating the corrupt tyrants entrenched [in Rome] will require not only strength, but leadership, as Ezio commands an entire Brotherhood who will rally to his side," Ubisoft stated. "Only by working together can the Assassins defeat their mortal enemies."
Along with a bevy of new weapons, the game will also include an already much talked about multiplayer mode. Ubisoft said players will get to choose from multiple character classes, each with their own signature weapons and killing moves, and battle it out in a variety of "unique" multiplayer modes.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is set to launch this holiday season for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PCs. Follow the game's new web site for more details.
Sharkey says: Assassin's Creed was fun but flawed and Ubisoft did a great job upgrading the game and making Assassin's Creed II thoroughly enjoyable. The studio now has the engine and the gameplay mechanics down pat, and though a year of development time is a small window, Ubisoft is now, for the most part, simply continuing the game's story. Looking forward to it.
