Viva La Verve - October 2014 Week 4 Recap and Viewfinder

Hello, Verve fans!  Marisa here today sharing this week's Recap and Viewfinder for the October 2104 Week 4 sketch by Charmaine.

Here is my take using Charmaine's sketch.  The centre cluster was fun to play around with and the heart was such a fun addition.  Still using up my Stella and Rose MME papers and I created the sentiment using various words from Inspire Hope.  Love how you can build sentiments with this set.

Now on to my Viewfinder picks for this week.

First up is a delightful cupcake treat by Nancy Thomas.  Love how she used the Small Packages set to create her cluster of goodies and the enamel dots are a fabulous touch.

Next up is Lyn's card.  Adore the coral and grey colour combination, fabulous cluster of flowers from Great Friend and her use of the wonderful sentiment from Poppy Birthday.  

Third up is Karen with a pretty in pink creation using Pink Power.  Love the sparkly silhouette and unique die she matted it on.

 I used the Small Packages stamp set and Pennant Trim die. 

And here are a few cards from the gallery that caught my eye.

 This baby card from Lyn is the definition of precious!  The little details, like the heart bunting and the stitching, make this one really stand out!

 

 Kris' card, made for local servicemen will be a delight on Veteran's Day.  In addition to the patriotic red, white, and blue, Kris carries stars though her design from the stitched banner at the bottom to the bunting across the top.   

 And finally, Nancy's card of encouragement offers the wisdom of the Psalms to an injured college football player.  Not only did she put together a stellar design, but she did so in the school colors, too!

Viva La Verve - October Week 1 Recap and Viewfinder

Here is the Week 1 sketch + color challenge.  Feel free to just use the sketch, just the colors (orange + ocean blue + yellow) or both!

I used just the sketch this time round as I wanted to showcase the new Masquerade set and needed some bold colours to do so.

 I loved the large panel in Julee's layout and it was the perfect layout to showcase the fabulous, new Masquerade set.  Just adore the dress and masks, not to mention the matching dies!  My local dollar store had this fabulous, sparkly, red paper and I

Loved this card by Ellen using Take Note. Her flower/leaf cluster is fabulous and the stitching a lovely touch. 

Next up is this delightful card by DarleneAdore how she created the background by embossing the small cupcake and topping them with a sequin.

My last selection is this card by Nancy.  Love how she added the Luke 1:45 Plain Jane sentiment to the large panel and that flower from Happy Place is just too cute!
