Holiday Whites

Sharing some beautiful ornaments I received from Erica, one of my three partners in Cassandra's ornament exchange...

Happy White Wednesday!

I'm Dreaming of a......

Happy White Wednesday and my first Christmas post of the season!
I'm sharing a victorian cone (with just a touch of whimsy) ornament that I made for a special swap sister in our
Bloggerette Sorority Ornament Exchange.

The cone is covered with Warm & Natural then smothered in loads of antique crocheted lace. Mercedes is a "pink" girl so I added a bit of pink and rose with a fabric flower, tulle and seam binding.

Tucked into the inside tulle is an adorable little winter faerie
and if you look closely you'll see she's holding an invitation to the Midnight Christmas Faerie Ball.

And what better way to conclude White Wednesdaythan to share this wonderful white turkey vintage postcard.
Wishing each of you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.
I do count you among my blessings.

One Woman's Trash is Another's Treasure

I haven't participated in a White Wednesday for a while now but this past weeks garage sale finds were certainly motivation to do so. The woman's bust, vintage pearls with rhinestone clasp and that glorious birdcage cost a mere $7. (Weekend junkin' is the best hobby ever!)

I'm linked to Kathleen's Faded Charm where you'll find hundreds of dreamy whites.

It's The Little Things........

a cut glass bowl of eggnog potpourri...
Santa's timepiece nestled in the corner...
a reindeer in a birdcage...
another bowl of miscellaneous holiday sweetness...
a vintage picture loaded with charm (purchased for 10 cents at an estate sale!),
and even the harp gets a mini holiday makeover...
It is the little things that make you feel warm and happy.

It's time to catch you up on some other little things that are helping to make the season bright-Countdown to Christmas matchboxes!
Day 13 from Carol, of Heirlooms For You

Day 14 from Jill, of File Under Misc.

And Day 15 from Kim, of Blackberry Crows Prims

Many thanks to Carol, Jill and Kim for my new lovely little things!

It's a White Christmas Miracle on Day 8

It was meant to be! I received the most lovely vintage white and shimmery box from Freda, of
Sew What's New.
The part that's "meant to be" is today is White Wednesday at
Faded Charm and I planned on linking to show my Christmas Village. With that in mind, I sifted through my remaining matchboxes to discover Freda's little white gem intended for Day 8. Okay, maybe not a Christmas miracle, but let's at least call it a sign! So thank you Freda for your beautiful little gift and for the
tie-in to White Wednesday.

I've been collecting these village pieces for many years, and of all the holiday decorating I do, amassing the village (I believe it may have grown to city status) is indeed a labor of love. Just bringing the boxes up from the basement is a job! It's extremely difficult to capture the charm and serenity of this snowy vintage winter wonderland. I hope you enjoy visiting nonetheless.

Glamorously Ghostly

As we count down the final hours until All Hallow's Eve, let me share with you this special White Wednesday ornament I made, inspired by the Romantic Gothic Ghosts Workshop.

Autumn Isn't Always Orange

sometimes it's simple and beautiful and perfect in white.....

...and sometimes it's magical and enchanting.

The sweet prim pumpkin held by my harp faerie, was purchased from an ebay seller, Tin Crow Primitives, should you happen to have a harp faerie in need of a pumpkin.

Inside White Wednesday

Welcome to my second White Wednesday which takes place inside my home this week. Just a couple of quick pics of a mantle and tabletop vignette. This stunning bottle was made by Joanna Pierotti. If you're not familiar with her work you'll want to pay her blog a visit. She's an extremely gifted artist and if you're quick you may be able to purchase one of her creations (most are gone within hours of listing!) in her etsy shop,
Moss Hill Studio.
If you like the sweet frozen charlotte angel assemblage posed next to Joanna's bottle, then be sure to visit Metal Corset for more beautiful assemblage/mixed media pieces.
I put together this little tabletop display using all estate and garage sale finds. It's amazing how much charm a little money and a few attractively displayed items can add to a nook or cranny of a room!
If you enjoy the White Wednesday posts, spend some time visiting all the participants - links to all can be found at the home of White Wednesday, Faded Charm.
Enjoy!

White Wednesday Voyeurism Ends Today!!!!!

I have been a long-time admirer now of all the White Wednesday bloggers and Kathleen's host blog, Faded Charm. Though my photography skills and WW contributions may not be as sharpened or charming as some, I still feel the need to jump in. I hope my fellow WW fans will enjoy these pics of my summertime retreat, namely my deck and backyard. Welcome to my humble deck...... One of my many garage sale cages (I have a thing for cages). They serve as plant hangers in the summer and usually faerie habitats inside during the colder months.
Also on my deck are some more of my garage sale finds. Can you believe this charming birdcage was $2? And the little porcelain bird in the little porcelain nest, aka a salt shaker and tray, was another find at 25 cents!
And the view from the deck is quite lovely too. Thank you to all who joined me on my first White Wednesday venture.
