No Tricks, All Treats

When I started blogging it wasn't with the intention of administering a swap group. It sort of happily evolved into that. This journey has introduced me to some very talented and kind bloggers, many of whom I now consider friends.
One of our recent projects was an altered carte de visite Halloween book. We each altered 5 cdv's (small antique photographs) and I bound them into books for each of us. The spectacular spider ribbon charms were made by Karla, one of the contributing artists.
Aren't they wonderfully spooky?

A couple of my artist friends involved in this project gifted me with pieces of their artwork...the best kind of gift one can receive!
Thank you Karla! These are such amazing treats!
I'm absolutely in love with my altered Halloween book!

As a lover of all things vintage and especially vintage Halloween, I was thrilled upon opening this gorgeous wall hanging from Kimberly.
Thank you Kimberly! It's already found a treasured place on my living room wall!

And this is just the beginning.
Lots more Halloween creations coming. If you'd like a sneak peek, check out our group photo gallery HERE.
The last two swaps for 2012, both holiday themed, are also posted and open to signups!

The Altered Ancestors Project Finale

These little books of altered cdvs are so special bound with crinkled seam binding and embellished with antique skeleton key charms and faux gem tintypes.

All to be delivered today to the talented ladies responsible for creating such memorable family members.

Everyone submitted 5 cdvs and will receive a book of 5. I chose 1 of each participants to share...

Seriously, the Last of the Ancestors....No, Really!

As I was packing away the cdvs strewn about my work table, a couple of them were still telling me stories....

His given name was Andrew but everyone knew him as Poker Face.

Prudence was the black sheep of the family. She seemed content with her pet bird and her spell book.

The Last of the Ancestors

It's time for me to finish playing with cartes de visites and move on to other projects. Here's the last of the family....(The photos are kind of washed out so you may need to click on them to get a good view.)
Claudette was a timeless beauty.

No one was surprised when Henry ran off to join the circus.

Divorce was not an option in those days. George was painfully aware.

Ernestine was an avid reader. Her books took her to wonderful places.

I'll soon be blending families when I create cartes de visite books for the 10 of us participating in this fun collaborative!

Meet A Few More of the Family

From the time she was a tiny baby, everyone knew there was something very special about Edwina.

Some thought Uncle Harold took his cigar smoking much too seriously.

Hope those brought a smile to your face! Here's a little something I thought might make that smile a little bigger.
My friend Riki is having a giveaway, and an amazing giveaway at that.
