Flowers Everywhere!
Thanks to Amanda at Imperfectly Beautiful, I’ve been making these roses like crazy. I love them! You can read her tutorial here. The only thing I do differently is that I cut out a round piece of felt and glue the fabric down as I go… it really saves burning your fingers. I used a jar lid to trace around on my felt and cut out. That will be the finished size of your rosette.
I also tried my hand at some different posies… this is one of them. I love the covered button and couldn’t believe how easy those are to make when you buy the kit at your fabric/sewing/craft store.

Easy Paper Art
I made this little piece of “art” that is currently on display above Miss Priss’ crib. I painted an old frame white… which was actually the most complicated thing EVER! This frame was an old cheapie from Wally World – still had the ancient price sticker on it. The red from the wood BLED through like crazy. Hubby finally took it out and shot it with Kilz and that did the trick. It was crazy- I’ve never had that issue. Anyway…. moving on…
I free-handed the design using coordinating scrapbook papers. I did use a bowl as the template for the tree top. I glued it all together and added the owl that coordinates with her bedding.
I did do a layer of Mod Podge over the finished product.
The T was an unfinished chipboard letter I bought at Hob Lob. I painted it pale yellow and then rubbed a light pink over it with a rag.

15 Minute Message Board
I got the idea for this message board somewhere in bloggy land though I cannot remember where! If you know, please post the link so I can link it up!
Seriously, this took 15 minutes to make! I had this huge frame that I picked up at a garage sale for $1. I marked the back every 4” down on either side and then stapled twine across the back. I used two staples on each side and pulled the twine as tightly as possible.
I had this burlap monogram so I actually used twine to attach it at the top for a little something extra.
Now I have the perfect place to display my recipes for the week and frequently used recipes along with Cayson’s artwork.
I used mini clothespins that I already had – they’re spray painted black.
I’m so excited because this takes up my large wall in my kitchen and I didn’t spend a dime today to make it – it was all things I had!
My other idea for this is to hang black & white photos on it... you could easily change them out!

Onesies for my darling
I’ve made a few onesies for Miss Priss… quite an easy task using the nice iron on adhesive!
I sewed on a sweet little bow to this heart.
Added a button and ribbon to the T.
This cute little birdie is my favorite! I added a bead for the eye and handstitched the edge.
Little Miss modeling one of the onesies along with the matching flower bow!

Tutu Info
I’ve had a lot of requests for info on the tutu I made for Miss Priss. It was soooo easy to make! It maybe took an hour while watching tv. Granted, I was making it for a newborn so it was small.
I bought my supplies at Hobby Lobby. You can find rolls of tulle in the fabric section with the ribbon and in the wedding section. FYI, Dollar Tree has white tulle for $1! I used red, hot pink, & pale pink tulle for my Valentine tutu.
I also bought a package of non-roll elastic for the waist band.
Since I made a newborn size tutu, I really did not use much tulle. One spool would be plenty.
Here are a few tutorials that I consulted for info (the 2nd one is fabulous – showing a quick way to cut the tulle):

A couple quick things…
Here are a few small projects I’ve done over the past week or so…. the first is the hanging on the right. I covered a board with some cute fabric. I hot glued painted mini-clothespins to it for a little board to hold the recipe of the day, my favorite photos, a quote or two, or whatever I feel like looking at! The second was a little something for my sis. I painted a wooden cutting board with chalkboard paint and added a ribbon for hanging. A perfect chalkboard for the kitchen!
I know these are simple little projects but that is what my life is currently full of – lots of small projects!

Burlap Monogram
I’m working on cozying up my kitchen and making a few little changes – including this chalkboard!
I had two of these apple wood things hanging in my kitchen… they’ve been there since we moved in (6+ years!)
I painted the plaque because the pattern does show through the burlap. I did use my Cricut to cut out the j on freezer paper. I put it on the cutting mat, shiny side up and then used the flip image feature to flip the j.
You don’t need a Cricut for this project! You can print out your pattern on your printer and then trace it onto the freezer paper and cut out using an X-Acto knife. I’ve done this before an it’s quite simple. It’s also great because you have access to a lot more fonts just with Word.
I ironed the freezer paper, shiny side down to the burlap. Be sure to empty the water reservoir. Then I just painted the stencil.
Peel off the freezer paper once the paint dries.
I stretched the burlap over my plaque attempting to center the design and then stapled it in place. I had to add a wall hanger to the back since it had previously hung horizontally.
I have another similar project but on a larger scale that I am going to attempt! So stay tuned!

Back to School Craft: Backpack Tags
I’ve been making these for Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephew and one for my son. They’re fairly simple to make – especially if you have a Cricut! My friend, Cindi, showed me how to make these – she is a brilliant crafter!
I cut out 2- 3” circles using this Gina K paper – be sure to set your Cricut on multi-cut. It’s a heavier cardstock and put together is like chipboard. If you have a deep-cut blade, you can just cut out one circle from chipboard.
Cut out 3” circles in coordinating paper. Use a glue stick to glue the layers together – 2 of the heavy cardstock and then a pretty scrapbook paper on each side of the circle. I set my layers under a heavy jar until the glue is dry.
Punch a hole in your tag. I used my Crop-A-Dile.
Put a light coat of Mod Podge on each side. Finish by gluing the initial on the front.
Add a binder ring or clip of some kind. I finished off my tags with some ribbon to girl-ify the girlie ones.
Here’s the one I made for my son. He’s obsessed for baseball thus a baseball tag.
