Chocolate Trifle, Oh My!

I've always wanted to make a Chocolate Trifle!  We have a church potluck once a month, so I decided to give it a go.  The review on the recipe said it disappears fast.  Boy they weren't kidding!  It's a good thing I made two of them.  All I can say is YUM!  It was so good I'm going to make some for my daughter's grad party in a couple weeks.  It's so easy too!  The hardest part was waiting for the  brownies to cool so I could put it together.

Ingredients

1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix

1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix

1/2 cup water

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1 (1.5 ounce) bar chocolate candy (I used mini chocolate chips)

Directions

  1. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch squares.
  2. In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain.
  3. In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mixture and half of the 12 ounce container of whipped topping. Repeat layers. Shave chocolate onto top layer for garnish. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.

Have fun! Enjoy and make sure to get a piece for yourself before it disappears. ;)

A Weekend at the Coast

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  My family and I stayed at the beach this weekend.  It was cloudy and drizzly the whole time until the day we left the blue sky peeked out, but thats okay it gave me a reason to stay inside most of the time and relax. ;)
We took a couple walks on the beach and my daughter was lucky enough to find some beautiful green beach glass to add to her collection.  We also went to the cute little shops and as always we had to go to the candy shop.  Okay, so I have to tell you I am a total sucker (no pun intended) for candy.  The colors, the smell and the whole nostalgia of it all gets me every time.
There was also a book at the house we stayed at that had pictures of these bathing beauties from 1922.
Aren't they adorable!?
Well, back to work tomorrow!  I hope you have a nice week! ♥

♥ More Bluebird Giveaway! ♥

This sweet necklace is being added to the bluebird giveaway.  About a year or so ago I decided to try my hand at making necklaces.  So I got a glass cutter, soldering iron, soldering tape and silver solder.  It's a  fun way to use vintage images.  I'm no expert, but it's fun when I need a creative outlet :)  My friend is very sweet and sells them in her shop.
I use fabric or vintage sheet music on the backside.
Just leave a comment to enter the giveaway, easy as pie!  Thanks to all of you who have already left a sweet comment to enter.  I love to read them & it's fun getting to know you sweet ladies along the way!

Bone China Plates

I have never purchased fancy dishes before.  We have been using the same simple inexpensive white set of dinnerware for many years and I suppose it hasn't been much of a priority of mine.  After 16 years though I finally started thinking about nice dishes to use for holidays and family dinners.  A couple months ago my Mom gave me the set of silverware that my Grandma chose in the early fifties when she got married.  It's called White Orchid, it is beautiful... I was thrilled.  This is what made me start thinking about it.  I found 10 Mikasa Rosemead dinner plates on Ebay for a deal.  I had 3 pieces of this pattern already so I decided to get them.  They arrived in the mail this week.  It will be fun to use them or will I be one of those people that never uses their nice dishes for fear of breaking them...I hope not.

Oh yeah, today I found this sweet vintage basket for $1.99 at the thrift shop.  You can't beat that! ;)
I sure hope you are having a good weekend!  ♥

Friendship Motto

My Mother-in-law passed this vintage friendship motto on to me after having it for years.  She knows how much I love these kinds of treasures.   The words are always so clever and the images are full of charm.
I wanted to share it with you lovely ladies.  Thank you for stopping by and  taking the time to leave your kind words.  You make the world a happier place. ♥

Happy Fourth of July!

I hope you all are having a fun & safe holiday weekend!
Do you have any fun plans?  I am working, but it's okay because I get holiday pay;)  I'm sure my hubby will have something yummy ready to eat when I get home and I got some sparklers for the kids.
