Easy Easter Mail Art

Hello Again!

I'm back with more cute
Easter Mail Art!

Stamps Used:

Ok, so this time I totally forgot to take some action shots.

Start by stamping your group of bunnies, then mask them off.  Next, stamp your cross with lilies.

You can see here I have done that then began to color my cross and flowers.
(you can remove the mask to color, but i chose not to for some reason)

Now remove the bunny mask so that you can color them too!
(I chose browns , because i think of "chocolate bunnies")

So, after everything was colored I re-masked my bunnies then added a layer of yellow ink over the background.  When I was satisfied with that, I used layering stencils with pink and yellow to add more details.

Hoppy Mail Art Monday!

Hello again crafty friends!

It's me Tera again. Today I am going to share a super fun and easy Easter envelope with you!

Stamps Used:

Are you ready for some colorful "Hoppy" mail?

Well, let's hop to it then...

Beginning with an A2 envelope, I stamped the bunny in black memento ink, then masked him off.  Next I cut a blob shap out of scrap paper to make the mask for the address box.

(below is the envelope with both masks in place)

Using Distress Oxide inks (picked raspberry, cracked pistachio, mustard seed, and ripe persimmon), I inked my main background layer

Next, using the same colors through a layering stencil I added a new layer of ink for depth.  I also added a few flicks of water for distressing.

Now for the magic....
I removed the masks to begin coloring.
(I love the reveal!)

Finally I used various markers to color the bunny and add details.
(I love matching postage so I have added one on the envelope so you can see the full effect. I may use a different stamp to mail yet, we will see...)

I hope this artistic bunny has your creative juices flowing too now!
Hoppy crafting!

Easter is Right Around the Corner

Happy Friday ALL!!
Michele here with a bit of last minute Easter inspiration...for those of us who just remembered we needed a couple of cards before the bunny hops by.
I started with watercolor paper and used Authentiques Eastertime for accents.

Stamps used:

I started by stamping the bunny on watercolor paper with archival ink.

Then again on a thin dictionary page to mask the bunny.  This allowed me to stamp the clump of plants around the bunny with Distress Oxide ink.

The bunny is colored with Distress Markers and a waterbrush.

These little gift cards are perfect for some Easter treats I will be passing out Sunday.

Next a couple of cards...

Stanp used:

Using the same masking technique I stamped the chick several times.

The last chick is colored with Dustress Markers and a waterpen and popped up.

Stamps used:

I used the masking technique here too and the background is Distress Oxide Inks.

The bunny is colored with Distress Markers and a waterpen.

Can't wait to see what you do with my favorite masking technique!!

Until next time...get inky!!  HAPPY EASTER!!

Hop on in for Mail Art Monday...

Hello!

Welcome Back for another Mail Art Monday!

Stamps Used:
Creepy Rabbit by Tera Callihan
Hippitty Hoppitty

Today is an EXTRA fun piece for me because both of the stamps used on this piece are actually created by me!
(I hope you like them!)

To start, I used a piece of paper cut to 8.5in x 8.5 in
(which makes and A2 envelope when used with my envelope punch board)
I layered some Dylusions paints, Tim Holtz distress paint and Tim Holtz layering stencils to create my background.
(the colors I used were squeezed orange, pure sunshine, bubble gum pink, and white linen. I also used the Tim Holtz sponge dauber in picked raspberry and wild honey)

Next I added a few scraps of Tim Holtz tissue paper to add some visual interest.
After I got all of the background layers just right I stamped my bunny on the envelope and again on a separate piece of paper. I used a variety of markers to color him.

To glue him to the envelope I used Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium, which really made the colors even more intense!
(yes I used this on the bottom and top of the bunny so he would be safe going through the post)

Lastly,  to finish everything off I stamped "Hippitty Hoppitty" by my little bunny!
Sorry I forgot to take progress photos, but you know how it is when you really get into a project! you have too much fun!

I can't wait to get this little guy paired up with the perfect stamp and mailed out to his new home!
Happy crafting!

EGGstra Special Easter Wishes...

Welcome to Viva Las Vegastamps! Susan here today to bring some seasonal crafting inspiration... and a Bunny who's all dressed up for the Easter Parade!

This project is a little altered home decor project using a leftover scrap of Ranger Distress Stain painted cardstock and a plaster egg decor piece... and my stash of VLVS! {of course}, with one "Fancy Bunny #17610" to star in this crafty redux. This egg base is partially decorated on the front and is glittered, which will make a great finish for the backside – so I will alter the backside which is flat and plain just screaming for some inky stamped goodness.

First thing, trace shape onto my painted scrap of cardstock, stamp bunny with Versafine ink, and make a quick mask.

I traced shape onto a section of Miracle Sheet, trimmed and adhered my stamped background with mask applied to the backside of the egg. Using purple and green dye inks, I stamped in some grass and pattern to the egg background... and my bunny is perfectly safe!

Now the magic is revealed!! A few minutes of fussy cutting is always worth it for layering stamps and seamless image. I had planned to use "Fancy Border" #18951 for grass, but it wasn't working... so I smooshed the edge of ink pad to paper making chunky grass.

Now for the finishing touches... lots of hand coloring and doodling using a variety of pens and a waterbrush. I tied off some creme organza ribbon for a hanger at the top with a bow – and from the bottom, hung a ribbon tail with a triple matted sentiment block combining words from two different stamps. This stamped lovely is ready to hang and is super sparkly!

You won't believe this project from yesterday by Suzanne! She uses a whole plate of stamps and no patterned paper to create her layout.

Today I'm sharing a total of four projects! the first two come from Judy -- she was having so much fun with her new inks and stamps that she kept going after the first!

Judy used Clearsnap Archival Dye Glacier Lake and Wicked Black ink. Smooch Pearlized Accent Inks in Pumpkin, Sassy Pink and Gold Lame. She also used VLVS! images Explore, Men in Balloon Basket, Girl in Polka Dot Dress, Writing background , Diamond Harlequin BG and Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder.

2nd up we have Susan M. Brown:

Tags are popular among our stamping crew, and scene stamping on them is a favorite! Susan used ColorBox Archival Dye Inks - Wicked Black and & Khaki Green; ColorBox Cats Eye Chalk Inks - Citrus Yellow, Lime Pastel, Wisteria, Creamy Brown, Orchid Pastel, and Prussian Blue; Smooch Spritz - Gingersnap; Smooch - Banana Custard, Sweet Melon, Lettuce, and Plum Berry from "JUICY" smooch mini kit. She finished off the tag with the letters for HOPPY from our December Daily Plate and the Easter stamp.

And last but certainly not least today we have Lea:

Easter Greetings!

Easter Island statues + bunny = quirky greeting card for this year's end-of-March celebration, perfect for my little oddball holiday celebrating of sorts. At any rate, a handful of bold images have been used here:  Easter Island Gang, Easter Greetings/Lilies and Dumb Bunny.

I actually started out with Dumb Bunny - embossed him onto a piece of Kromecote cardstock using Stampo's Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder and colored him in using Copic markers.  I set him aside.

From there, I cut out a variety of patterned papers to layer onto a turquoise card.  The final top piece is actually another piece of Kromecote that I colored using some of the new Tim Holtz Distress Stains in shades of Peacock Feathers, Crushed Olive and Picked Raspberry - all touched up with a bit of Brushed Pewter.  Using Staz On ink, I stamped the Easter Island Gang and embossed the Easter Greetings/Lilies.

Voila!  Quirky greeting card for Easter.  A handful of jelly beans, a stack of new books, and a yearly screening of the French film, Chocolat will complete my holiday.  Happy Easter!

Hippy Easter!

Hi everyone! This is my first blog post for Viva Las Vegastamps! I am very excited to be part of this team. Viva Las Vegastamps! was one of the first companies I fell in love with when I first started getting into rubber stamping many many years ago.

My first project is a little Easter greeting. I know Easter is over, but I had to make something when I saw the Easter stamp I got in my pound of rubber.

I used a coaster that was from the $1 area at Micheal's that I had in my stash. I have been trying to use up my stash(stamps excluded :P). I made my own background paper with craft paints and a Dollie shaped as an egg shape that I sprayed with some of my sprays. I used Miracle tape to adhere the paper to the coaster. White glue will not work, it came off after the coaster once the glue dried. I stamped the Easter Hippo Coloring Eggs on white cardstock, and colored it with prisma's colored pencils. attached it with Miracle tape to the coaster.

It still needed something, and I needed to cover a tiny bit of the corner that didn't get cover with the paper. I had recently learned how to make cabbage roses And I thought they would be kinda cool on the piece. I was raked die cut  of the Tattered floral dies and had some extras to make some more. I made 3 sizes for this one. and I hot glued them to a Crystal spray.

Don't forget to check out the Viva Las Vegastamps! blog. where there are new blog post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

And there is a monthly card challenge where you can win $25 to shop at their store! That can buy you a pound of rubber! :) The theme for April is "Earth day" Just make a card using Viva Las Vegastamps! and post it to your blog then go to our blog to the tap where it says monthly challenge and link your blog post of the card to our blog. :)

Viva Las Vegastamps! Happy Easter!

Easter is just around the corner....
Today I would like to share a new way to use your Viva Las Vegastamps! Miracle Tape with crepe paper to make a ruffle.
All you need is Viva Las Vegastamps! Miracle Tape and crepe paper. Cut a strip of VLVS! Miracle Tape the length that you would like your finished ruffle.
Lay the VLVS! Miracle Tape with the protective covering side down and pleat the crepe paper on the sticky side, it doesn't need to be prefect. It took a little practice, after a couple of times it goes quickly.
If you plan to sandwich the ruffle between two pieces of paper add another strip of VLVS! Miracle Tape to the pleated side.
Adhere the the ruffle between the pieces of paper by removing the protective covering.

Stamp images on white card stock and  heat emboss with VLVS! Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder, add stamped image to the card.
You can make crepe paper ruffles for a ton of different projects... you are only limited by your imagination.  Be sure to use Viva Las Vegastamps! Miracle Tape! It is the GREATEST TAPE!

Pattern Papers
Stewart Superior Memories Black Ink
