March 2014 Diva Dare ~ Day 5
Welcome to March's Diva Dare! This month's Dare is entitled "Do The Polka".
What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka!
I just LOVE polka dots. . .and I love to polka! LOL What a fun Diva Dare, right? For my card, I used Text Objects. The papers are from the Life of the Party Collection from My Mind's Eye. I started by stamping the medium heart onto the polka dot patterned paper and cutting it out. Then I used the Bountiful Backgrounds set and stamped the polka dot pattern and stamped and cut out the smaller heart.
I die cut a large heart using the Jotted Heart Die. The pink piece of patterned paper has the large polka dots, which make me smile! :) As finishing touches, I added the little button as well as the scored dotted line at the top of the card. Are you ready to polka?
During this month's Diva Dare, there are 2 prizes up for grabs!
Win a set of your choice! For another chance to win some new Verve, leave a little comment love on our design team's "Do The Polka" Diva Dare posts! One lucky commenter will win a Verve stamp set of his or her choice, so be sure to tune in each day! Comment deadline to be entered in our prize drawing is March 26, 2014.

January Diva Dare – Day 10
Greetings Verve Fans!!! It’s Maureen and I have the honour of wrapping up our fabulous new Diva Dare Challenge this month. I don’t know about you, but the Divas have been melting my heart for the last 9 days with the sweetest Baby Love creations. Before I get onto my take for the challenge here are a few details…
We dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - Baby Love! The baby part could be for a new little someone...or a special someone! Be sure to look for the details on how you can win some new Verve goodies at the end of this post!
My ideas for this one kept changing over the week…UNTIL I noticed one of my 7 year old female students wear the sweetest little zippered flower party shoes to school. I then thought of my sweet little niece, Ava, who is around the same age. She is the last girl grandchild in our family so her (and her twin brother!) are the “babies,” no matter what age they are! LOL So with “zippers,” my sweet and patient-with-the-boys-in-our-class girl students and my sweet “baby girl” niece in mind, I created this card…
I used a stamp from Text Objects to make a black border, then stamped “Baby Girl” from To the Moon in different colours to match the zipper. I love this “You Go Girl” sentiment from the same To the Moon set. With zipper flowers on my brain, I wanted to make (YES “make with my own hands!” lol ) a fun zipper flower hair band to wrap up as a little gift. I have only one son so I’m always fascinated by how my girl students and niece are wearing their hair on any given day.
Of course, the hair band needs to be wrapped in some fun packaging with a fabulous matching tag…
Oh, I just love using this Sweet Treat stamp with the Sweet Scallop die :) Here’s a closeup…
So......will you answer the dare? If so, here are the rest of the details:
1. Play along with us and link up your new Baby Love creation (posted January 14th or later) to the linky widget on the DAY ONE Diva Dare post before midnight MST on January 29th. One lucky stamper will win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Verve Store. Verve Stamps are not required, but if you've got 'em we would LOVE to see ‘em!
2. For another chance to win, be sure to give the Divas a little shout-out in the comments section as we share our Baby Love creations. One lucky commenter will win the Verve stamp set of his or her choosing! Winners will be announced on Monday, January 31st right here on the Verve blog.
So go ahead and show us your Baby Love creations...we DARE you!
I hope you’ve been inspired by my Baby “Girl” Love gift…I can’t wait to see what YOU dare to make ;) Have a wonderful day!!

January Diva Dare-Day 5
Good morning, it is Teresa and it is my turn to share with you my interpretation of this months theme "Baby Love". The theme explanation is as follows.
We dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - Baby Love! The baby part could be for a new little someone...or a special someone! Be sure to look for the details on how you can win some new Verve goodies at the end of this post!
I have been wanting to make one of these journal/mini photo album ever since I seen this one that Alex made. You use Starbucks coffee cup sleeves, so cool don't ya think? I luv the idea, well because I am a huge fan of Starbucks.
I have used four sleeves, painted them a cream color and sewed the bottoms shut so that I can use it for a journal card or to add photos. I have used designer papers from Making Memories, it is the Je t'adore collection. I used the heart and classy label from the Love Notes set and the Vintage Oval Stamp and die.
I used glass glitter again...sigh.....I adore the look it gives to anything, you can add it to an edge or like I did here the entire heart shape.
I punched holes in the side and used an circle ring to bind them together. I also made journaling cards using the ticket die from Lifestyles to go into the sleeves. I used the set Text Objects to stamp across the bottoms.
Another page of the mini album, a button and bakers twine accent this page.
This is the completed mini album, I hope you like it and I dare you to create your very own Baby Love creation!
