Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  This month's dare is entitled Favorite Things.  With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season upon us and the New Year quickly approaching, it's nice to take a breather and look back at what we've accomplished. 

So this month, we are daring you to share your favorite Verve creation(s) for this year OR create a new one with one of your favorite Verve products.  

When I scrolled through my blog at my Verve creations this past year, I was overcome with joy and gratitude to be able to design for this amazing company with a true message of faith and love all.

After adding several cards to share on this post (yes, really!), this one stuck out as my absolute favorite of the year.  I think it stood out to me because of the sentiment...all about LOVE!  Isn't that really what life is about?!  Besides Verve being one of my very favorite things, I adore layers of patterned and glittery paper, heat embossing, ribbon & twine bows, stitching and scattered sequins, too!

February 2014 Diva Dare - Day 5

"Perk Up" - February Diva Dare

Welcome to February's Diva Dare!  This month's Dare is entitled "Perk Up."    

What we're daring you to do this month is make a card or project to perk someone up, whether it’s with a warm beverage or just a heartfelt sentiment to brighten someone’s day.  No shortage of options as Verve has some wonderful coffee and tea sets as well as a plethora of uplifting/heartfelt sentiments.

A layered Verve card with yummy ribbon, stamped and embossed vellum, stitched panels, sequin sprinkles, curly twine, and glitter paper is definitely one that perks me up!  

 I adore the new Verve Stamps set, More Than Love!  It has the most beautiful sentiment fonts!  I used the small "smitten" as a scripted pattern on the long background panel and heat embossed the larger sentiment in silver onto a vellum Tagged Rectangle Die.   There a few layers of Wavy Hearts and Heart Quartet Dies with a peek of the Classy Label Die, too.  A fabulous Autumn Elements ribbon bow and a sprinkling of Pastel Sequin Mix finishes off this loving card!

"Playing Favorites", December Diva Dare

Welcome to the last Diva Dare of 2013!  This month's Dare is entitled "Playing Favorites" and it is a fun one indeed!

What we're daring you to do this month is to post your favorite Verve Stamps 2013 creation OR make a new card using your favorite Verve stamp set.

As a fun extra this month, the Divas are answering "The Diva Fab Five Questionnaire."  Here goes!

What are your three favorite Verve products?

Tough question!  There are so many favorite Verve products that I can't possible choose only three!  I'll choose three favorite Verve products that first come to mind...they are Holiday Treats (of course), Award Banner Trim Die (use it on almost every Verve creation), and the Sweet Scallop Tag (a fantastic basic tag).

What is your current go-to color combo?

I LOVE color/pattern, bold and contrasting color/pattern!  I adore aqua, kraft and pink together...but notice there's an additional splash or coral on my card today, too!  There are so many fabulous color combinations, I have several favorite combos?!  Many times, I take a 6x6 paper pad and find a yummy combination of color and pattern right from there!  The coordinating papers take some of the guess work out of putting colors together.  

What is your current go-to embellishment?
I use loads of SEQUINS and TWINE...so, you can imagine how excited I was when Verve began offering their own sequins!  Sequins and twine are definitely my go-to embellishments these days!  Just a few months ago, my answer would have been seam binding and buttons...but, I still LOVE them, too!

What is your favorite stamping or organizational tool?

I don't think I could live without my Fiskars Paper Cutter, My Scor-Pal and Big Shot (though, I just bought a Vegabond and can't wait to see if I love it).

What is your favorite treat to eat while stamping? 

I don't usually snack on anything while I'm creating, but I do enjoy a cup of coffee with french vanilla creamer!

My card features those coffee/latte cups from one of my favorite stamp sets, Holiday Treats.  and the coordinating Cup of Cheer Die Set!  I adore the chevron rectangle image that fits snuggly into the Tagged Rectangle Die!  The Award Banner Trim Die peeks out from behind the focal panel and there's a sprinkling of the delicate Pastel Sequins Mix.

November Diva Dare - Day 11

"Shape Up", November Diva Dare

Hey Verve fans!  Stacey here with my take on the November Diva Dare - Shape Up!  What a fun challenge with endless possibilities!  

What we're daring you to do this month is to create a card or project including a common shape.  For example:  hexagons, chevrons, arrows, triangles, hearts, stars etc.  Lots of fun ways you can go with this dare and we can't wait to see what you create!

Check out ALL the shapes I packed into my card!  Some fabulous Verve Stamps, A Cut Above by Verve Dies and some fabulous patterned paper is all you need to get your card in "shipSHAPE!"  

After layering a few different patterned papers, the "Merry Christmas" sentiment and red snowflake image are from the Holiday Treats stamp set.  The sentiment was stamped in red and die cut with the Tagged Rectangle Die, while the snowflake was also stamped in red and die cut using the Frosty Snowflakes Die Set.  To finish up the card, I added some curly twine and a sprinkling of the Metal Mix Sequins and Pastel Sequin Mix.

November Diva Dare ~ Day 9

"Shape Up", November Diva Dare

What day is it? It's Day NINE of our Dare and I'm so excited to share how I took the challenge this month.

What we're daring you to do is to create a card or project including a common shape.  For example:  hexagons, chevrons, arrows, triangles, hearts, stars etc.  Lots of fun ways you can go with this dare and I can't wait to see what you create!

For me the shape of a coffee take-out cup is pretty common and I'm in the mind set for money gift card holders, so I've combined those two for my take on the dare to "Shape Up".

It helps that my inspiration is the new Holiday Treats stamp set and it's Cup of Cheer coordinating die set and I loved the idea of the card holder in the same shape as a take-out coffee cup. I used my Pazzles Inspiration Cutter and one of the Library cutting files to make the card base and cut out the Bundled Up pattern paper by Crate Paper. Then it was time to embellish with Verve goodness.

I stamped the chevron tag and gorgeous "From Our House to Yours" sentiment from the stamp set in Crumb Cake then die cut the tag out with the Tagged Rectangle Die. A flag makes for a more festive look so I added a second "Have a Cup of Cheer" sentiment and cut it out with the Flag It Die Set.

This all sits on top of the sleeve over the cup shaped card base and that is even Verve embellished with the Award Banner Trim Die and a bow made with Grapefruit color seam binding ribbon from Truly Madly Deeply Ribbon Collection.

Love the chevron latte cup a whole "latte"! Stamped in Garden Green the latte cup is die cut out using the coordinating A Cut Above, Cup of Cheer Die Set

Add a sleeve for a gift card or money and there's still enough room for a personal note.

"Shape Up", November Diva Dare

Mornin' Verve lovelies!! Andrea coming at you on this glorious Friday (any Friday is glorious, am I right?) with this month's Diva Dare entitled "Shape Up".

What we're daring you to do this month is to create a card or project including a common shape.  For example:  hexagons, chevrons, arrows, triangles, hearts, stars etc.  Lots of fun ways you can go with this dare and we can't wait to see what you create!

Here is my card using this month's dare:

Now, you can get pretty broad with this challenge, I mean any shape is a shape, right? I chose to use Verve's newly released Holiday Treats set stamped on a Tag shape (Verve's A Cut Above Tagged Rectangle die). I added lots of rectangles, a banner and some circles (in the form of flowers and bells). The die cut is from an old K & Co. Christmas tag set and I added a bit of Star Dust Stickles to the floral arrangement she's carrrying...just for a bit of pizzazz. All edges are distressed and I also added a square of burlap behind the images.

"Shape Up", November Diva Dare

Hi there! Welcome to Day 5 of our November Diva Dare Challenge! 

This month, we're daring you to create a card or project including a common shape.  For example:  hexagons, chevrons, arrows, triangles, hearts, stars etc.  Lots of fun ways you can go with this dare and I can't wait to see what you create!

I used a patterned paper with circles in it, and those circles have other shapes! The tag die is the Tagged Rectangle Die. I cut a tag out and then stamped the rectangle stamp from Holiday Treats. The sentiment is from Chevron Love.

I also stamped a couple arrows from Chevron Love and layered them behind the tag. I finished my card off with some twine, a button, and some silver pearls!

October Diva Dare - Day 10

Hello there!  It's Charmaine, and I'm excited to bring you Day 10 of the Verve October Diva Dare!!   

Tag, You're It, October Diva Dare

What we're daring you to do this month is to create a gift tag, use a tag on a card, or be inspired by a tag!   

 

I decided to use a tag on a card for the challenge.  I used the new Chevron Love and Holiday Treats sets.  The tag image is from Holiday Treats and I just love the chevron heart from Chevron Love.  The papers are from the Harvest Lane Collection from Simple Stories. The tag was die cut using the Tagged Rectangle Die. 

After I die cut, stamped and assembled the tag, I also die cut a heart from the Heart Quartet Die that fit perfectly in the center of the large heart.  The ribbon is from the Autumn Elements Ribbon Collection.  I added a little sparkler to finish off the tag and attached it to the card.  The tag can be taken off the card and used on a gift or maybe even for a bookmark.  I hope you've been inspired to create!!  Now it's your turn!!
