"Petals and Wings" - May Diva Dare

Good morning, it is Teresa and I am bringing to you Day 2 of May's Diva Dare!  In honor of the newest release, this month's Dare is entitled"Petals and Wings".     

What we're daring you to do this month is create a card with both a flower anda butterfly on it. 

I have used this week's Mojo Monday sketch and it is contest week, so be sure to play along! I have used all the goodies from the latest release, this butterfly is amazing and it can be cut out using the All Aflutter Die..so sweet! The butterfly is in the set Die Sidekicks, this set has all kinds of great stamps to go with dies that have been previously released. The darlin flowers are from the Petals & Wings set, luv these flowers, some of my Verve favorites. The sentiment is Hello Friend Plain Jane, I hope you are inspired to play along and take this month's Verve Diva Dare!

March 2014 Diva Dare - Day 11

Hi there! Jen here, bringing you Day 10 of the March Diva Dare challenge, "Do The Polka".  

What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka! 

I was so happy when I found out this challenge involved polka dots because it meant I had another excuse to use the fabulous background stamp from Better Together. I just love stamps that let me step away from patterned paper for a bit to just focus on stamping. I combined the dots from Better Together with the flowers from Lean On Me (colored with Copic markers) and the leaves from Dream Big along with their respective dies, Pointed Flowers Dies and Dreamy Leaves Dies. The sentiment is stamped on a bit of cream cardstock cut with with Rounded Rectangle Die. Underneath it all I die cut the Pennant Trim Die from a bit of pale pink cardstock. To finish it all off I added a few teeny tiny rhinestones in a pale pink.

March 2014 Diva Dare - Day 10

Hi there!  Laurie here, bringing you Day 10 of the March Diva Dare challenge, "Do The Polka".  

 
What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka! 

I am completely smitten with Verve's sentiments!  I love what they say, I love the mix of different fonts, & I love how balanced they look!  Verve makes some amazing images as well, but oh those fonts...they are a show stealer!  :-)  Because I wanted the sentiment to really shine (I used one from the new Better Together set), I embossed it on cardstock that I die cut using the Jotted Heart die.  For the polka dot part, I added some circles that I punched out and then did some simple stitching on them.  Kind of fun, but still subtle so the sentiment is still the focus.

March 2014 Diva Dare - Day 9

Hello there!! Amber here bringing you another day of POLKA DOT FUN!

What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka! 

I wanted to make my card more clean and graphic than girly, so I picked some neutral colors and kept the frill to a minimum! I pulled out the amazing new set Better Together to create this card, and as you can see, may pieces of polka dot patterned paper:) The sentiment, red chevrons, and that fantastic dotty graphic stamp are from the Better together stamp set.

The stitching stamp is from Borderline. Love this little stamp! I also outlined all my paper pieces with a black Copic marker to define the edges a bit.

That fun blue flag was cut out with a flag from the Flag it die set, another MUST have. 

Well that's all I have to share today, quick simple card!

"Do The Polka", March Diva Dare

Hello Verve Fans!! Christyne here bringing you some inspiration for Day 8 of the March challenge, "Do The Polka".  

 
What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka! 

 To answer this month's dare, I went a little polka-wild.  I found a bunch of polka dot papers and paired them with Verve's new Better Together stamp sent since it has that awesome dot background stamp and chevron accents.  I combined all of my dots with this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#337), using the Banner Bundle die set to cut out the main panel.  I accented this panel with some DP stars cut with the Starry Die.  Because all of these polka dots just weren't enough for this card, I added a big pop of ribbon from the Red, White, and Beautiful Ribbon Collection.  There you have it...polka-crazy!!

March 2014 Diva Dare - Day 7

"Do The Polka", March Diva Dare

Hello Dare Challengers! It's your St. Patty's Day birthday Diva bringing you lucky Day 7 of the March challenge for "Do The Polka".  

 
What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka! 

 

 I am always up for some bright Spring colours and a whole lotta gorgeous shamrocks!  I thought I'd mix it up a bit and use some non traditional colours for my St. Patrick's Day card :)  It was so fun to make a doily out of some light grey polka dot paper and a fun double bow with some green   Pastel Polka Ribbon.  I've made a cluster of Lucky You shamrocks stamped in Kiwi Kiss green and Bermuda Bay teal.  I made the sentiment panel with the Classy Label Die and matching label image from Love Notes.  Now, I have one more card for you!  It's actually the first card I made for the Dare and then I thought,"Hey!  It's St. Patrick's Day! I can't NOT post a St. Patrick's Day card!"  LOL  So here's another card using the just released Better Together stamp set, Curvy Bookplate die with matching frame image from Tag Time.  The polka dots on this one is courtesy of the Polka Dot Basics Ribbon Collection

Welcome to March's Diva Dare!  This month's Dare is entitled "Do The Polka."

Ever seen aqua poppies?  Probably not, but aren't they GORGEOUS?!
I made some pools of aqua with my Gelatos and water and colored up these fabulous flowers from Poppy Birthday and die cut them with their coordinating dies, Build a Poppy Die Set.  That yummy ribbon is from the Pastel Polka Dot Ribbon Collection and there are a few sprinkles of Pastel Sequin Mix on my card for a little sparkle!

March 2014 Diva Dare ~ Day 5

"Do The Polka", March Diva Dare

Welcome to March's Diva Dare!  This month's Dare is entitled "Do The Polka".    

What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka!
 

I just LOVE polka dots. . .and I love to polka!  LOL  What a fun Diva Dare, right?   For my card, I used Text Objects.  The papers are from the Life of the Party Collection from My Mind's Eye.  I started by stamping the medium heart onto the polka dot patterned paper and cutting it out.  Then I used the Bountiful Backgrounds set and stamped the polka dot pattern and stamped and cut out the smaller heart. 

I die cut a large heart using the Jotted Heart Die.  The pink piece of patterned paper has the large polka dots, which make me smile!  :)   As finishing touches, I added the little button as well as the scored dotted line at the top of the card.  Are you ready to polka?

At least when I'm creating a card, because this girl hasn't ever danced the polka. Any way, I'm sneaking a peek at a new Verve set releasing sometime soon, eeep, called Better Together! I've got definite dots in the Polka Dot ribbon from the Polka Dot Basic Ribbon Collection, sneaky dots from the new release set, and crazy dots from the minute text print on the pattern paper. You could even say I have sparkly dots from rhinestones, too!
