4. Charmaine 8. Teresa

Comment deadline for prize drawing is Sunday, April 15.

In the spotlight today is a brand new set called Hope Lifts and its coordinating die set, Lifted Hope (sold separately)This set is filled with uplifting sentiments perfect for encouraging those going through a difficult time. The whimsical balloon and butterfly images complement these sentiments perfectly.  And the hope word die included is just perfect for adding a touch of hope to any card or project.

If the butterfly in this set looks familiar, it's slightly less intricate and a bit larger than the butterfly in our previously released Sparkly Dreams set (which was briefly retired due to a lost artwork file, but I'm happy to say the lost has been found and it's back among our offerings!).

For my card  using the current VLV sketch I embossed the butterfly from Hope Lifts twice, Cutting the cardstock one with the larger die from the Lifted Hope set and the vellum one with the previously released Butterfly Dreams die set. I love how they layer together to create a beautiful dimension.  Here's a close-up...

If you're still with me, the hop starts over on my blog, Poetic Artistry! Come say hello.

Winter 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and New Digi

It's beginning to look a lot like winter and that means it's time for the Winter 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Hooray! I just love seeing all the coffee/tea/cocoa inspired creations filling up the blogosphere during these hops. It's a busy time, but so much fun to see all the cups of cheer being lifted.

Verve is once again proud to be a hop Super Sponsor once again. We're providing one of the oh-so-many fabulous prizes up for grabs for those who link up a newly created WINTER themed coffee, tea or cocoa project over on the official Winter 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop post.  The linkup is open through December 15, so I hope you have a fabulous week of getting inky!

In honor of the hop, I've designed another fun holiday coffee themed DIGITAL set and it's on SALE along with a bunch of other holiday and coffee themed products! It seems that all that's keeping me going these days is a little coffee and Christmas cheer, so that was the starting point for the set. The Running on Cheer DIGITAL Set just released this morning, so head on over to the Verve shop to check it out! And if you haven't seen our full line of digis yet, be sure to take a peek!

My card uses one of the smaller cups and the Running on coffee and Christmas cheer sentiment from the Running on Cheer DIGI. I printed them on my laser printer, colored with Copics and fussy cut the mug.  Some beautiful papers from Authentique make up the backdrop and I accented with a bit of ribbon, some red jingle bells and a glittery wooden snowflake tucked behind.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope y'all enjoy the hop!

I've been under the weather with a pretty miserable sinus infection the past couple weeks and got mixed up and posted my take on the challenge over on my blog, Poetic Artistry.  So head on over there to read a bit more about the process that resulted in this sunny little CASE of Jenny's card. Then grab your stamps and make something to link up for this fun challenge!  I can't wait to see what you create.

Sale Extended and a Mojo Monday Contest

Happy January, friends! I'm just popping in to let you know that I've extended our sale through January 10. Here in Idaho, we're in the middle of a winter storm with more snow than we've seen in 30 years. School is closed yesterday and today, and one of my boys is sick with a fever and requires lots of holding. All of this means I have had no time to change out the website, so our sale continues.

Through January 10, save 35% off all current stamps and dies and 50% off all retiring products in the shop.  And save an additional 15% off your purchase with gift code SNOWDAY.  Sale prices and gift code valid on in-stock merchandise through January 10, 2017. Code must be entered to receive discount.

It's also contest week over at Mojo Monday! Come play along for a chance to win some Verve! We add a winner for every 50 entries, so the more the merrier. Hope to see you over there!

To get you started, here's the card sample I created with the sketch and the Faith Medley stamp set.

November New Release Spotlight Hops Day 1

Welcome to Verve's November New Release Spotlight Hops!  We've got a new release coming your way this Friday, November 4, and we're so excited to share our first looks at the new stamping goodies with you! The next three days we'll be putting on a daily blog hop to showcase the new products and also give you a chance to WIN some new Verve! Hooray!

Hopping along with our talented crew of Divas this month are three very special guests. You can read a bit more about them below, then scroll down for all the blog hop deets and full product reveals.

Lee Ann Barrett of Greyt Papercrafts has been on my reading list for as long as I can remember. I love her style which is at times crisp and clean and at times a bit of mixed media funk.  Her coloring and use of color is always spot on and I'm always finding myself inspired after a trip to her blog. I'm thrilled to have her as a guest for this release. Below is a little bit more about her and a little Q&A session about her stamping style.

Hi!  Originally from Chicago, I now live in St Louis Missouri with my rescued greyhound, Bella. I am a school nurse by day and a paper crafter fanatic by night.  When I am not crafting, you can find me reading, hiking, or decorating my house as I am also an avid DIY-er. The great outdoors is my favorite place to be and I travel to as many national parks that I can.  Verve was one of the very first stamp companies that I discovered as a newbie stamper and I am thrilled to have been asked by Julee to guest design this month.  Thank you, Julee!

1. How/when did you get hooked on stamping?  Scrapbooking was my first papercraft love, starting some 20+ years ago.  Yikes!  I am aging myself!  I got hooked on stamping about 6 years ago when I was asked to participate in a card drive for Operation Write Home.  I had been to Stampin' Up events prior to that, but the 'hook' never fully set til the OWH event. Then I discovered Splitcoaststampers and that was it!

2. How often do you stamp? I usually do some stamping nightly, unless the mojo dries up, then I take a few days off.

3. What style(s) are you most drawn to creating? What I am drawn to and what I can do are two different things!  I love CAS style but it does not come easily to me!  I lean towards clean, yet elegant cards. In the end, I will try just about any style!

4. What do you love most about paper crafting? Paper crafting is my form of relaxation as I am sure it is for a lot of you.  Nothing like coloring after a stressful day of work!

5. What technique or product is currently making your paper crafting heart go pitter patter? Currently, I love coloring!  Mixed media has also got my attention, especially when water  coloring is involved.

Lynn Mangan of The Mango Boys and Me is a master at clean and simple stamping. A long time customer, I'm always awed and inspired by her simply elegant creations, wishing I had a bit more of that CAS mojo inside of me. I'm so excited to have her as a guest this month. Below is a little bit more about her and a little Q&A session about her stamping style.

A big huge thanks to Julee for having me a guest designer for this release! I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling since I received her email. I’ve been a Verve fan for a really long time and this is a huge honor!  A little about me… I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Pat.  We’ll celebrate our 25th anniversary this coming August!  Time certainly flies!  I’m mom to four gorgeous boys: Ryan, Jonathon, Collin and Marcel. They keep us hopping with their activities and I’m often running from event to event. I also work full time and am extra blessed to have almost all of our family living close by in Cincinnati, Ohio.

1. How/when did you get hooked on stamping?  I started stamping in the mid 90s and primarily used stamping for scrapbooking through the years. When I started having my boys, I quickly started stamping their birth announcements and then transitioned to cards. I haven’t stopped making cards since!  I love the feeling of accomplishment when finishing a card.

2. How often do you stamp? I work full time and most often stamp on the weekends…early in the morning before the rest of the house is awake. I love having an hour or two to myself to craft away.

3. What style(s) are you most drawn to creating? Definitely a clean and simple designer when it comes to card making. Love white space on my cards and always look for inspiration from CAS designers.

4. What do you love most about paper crafting? That it is relaxing. It is a hobby that can take my mind off just about everything.  And the best part is the end result is something that I can give to others by sending my cards. Most of the time I make cards with someone in mind.

5. What technique or product is currently making your paper crafting heart go pitter patter? Well obviously, I love these gorgeous new stamps by Verve…the fonts are always amazing and I love the sentiments. I am a sentiment girl for sure.  I am also loving the trend with Zig Markers and water coloring. It took me a little while to get comfortable with water coloring, but I love that it lets me color outside the lines…so to speak!

Tenia Nelson of Jazzy Paper Designs has been wowing me with her unique spin on clean and simple for the past couple of years. I love the bit of unexpected swagger she brings to each card and it's always fun to see her little bits of washi mixed in. I'm so excited to have her as a guest! Below is a little bit more about her and a little Q&A session about her stamping style.

Hello all my name is Tenia Nelson and I am a 35 year old jazz pianist, music teacher and paper crafter that lives in Denver, Colorado. I am married to a great guy named Tim, I am momma to my awesome son Thelonious (Theo) and I have two wonderful doggie "kids" Miles and Brillo. When I am not playing everywhere in town, teaching wild and crazy kids, or making cards, I play soccer with the hubby and just hang out with my friends!

1. How/when did you get hooked on stamping?  It all started with a Stampin' Up! party......and now look.....lol!!

2. How often do you stamp? I try to stamp every other day.....it is stress relief !

3. What style(s) are you most drawn to creating? I love all styles but I like the CAS approach the best.....it suits my crazy busy lifestyle!

4. What do you love most about paper crafting? Creating and making AWESOME friends in the process!!

5. What technique or product is currently making your paper crafting heart go pitter patter?
Ummm......I love to dabble in LOTS of techniques I love watercoloring with my Spectrum Aqua markers......my FAVE....and of course my washi tape.....lol!!

Fall 2016 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's time again for another Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! As a coffee, tea and cocoa loving card maker, I get so excited for these quarterly hops. Verve is happy to once again be one of a long list of Super Sponsors giving away prizes, so come share your fall themed hot beverage creations over on the official Fall 2016 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop for a chance to win!
The hop starts today and runs through Friday, September 30 at 11:55 pm pacific. To be eligible for any of the sponsored prizes, you must link up a newly created fall themed coffee, tea &/or cocoa project over on the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog post.

We've also got a little blog candy, today!

Blog Candy: Everything Nice, Pumpkin Spice Die Set, Harvest Gold Sequin Mix
and a handmade coffee card!

Our next release is coming up on October 1, and one of the three sets we'll be releasing has a fun little pumpkin spice theme.  Just leave a comment below to be entered into our prize drawing to win the Everything Nice stamp set and coordinating Pumpkin Spice Die Set.  Comment deadline for the giveaway is 8pm Mountain, September 29.  I'll post the winner on September 30.

My card is a sneeky peeky at the new Everything Nice set.  I stamped the mug onto designer paper, then stamped the pumpkin inside and shaded around it with Copic markers, adding some glittery Nuvo crystal drops to my whip cream for a super sparkly treat.  And then I fussy cut because the dies still hadn't arrived from the manufacturer when I was creating the card.

The pumpkin spice and everything nice sentiment is stamped onto a stitched circle die and I used another stitched circle die, randomly stamped with another bitty pumpkin from the set in soft sky.  This is backed with a doily and I stenciled the background using antique linen and rusty hinge distress inks.  I finished things off with a seam binding bow and a couple orange rhinestones, because it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that bling.  {wink}

Oh, and the layout is the super fun September Sketch 2 at Viva la Verve!  Come play along with us for a chance to win a Verve gift certificate. For another peek at this set, check out my personal blog, Poetic Artistry today.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous little hop. I can't wait to go check out everyone's coffee loving creations!

October Release Retrospective Hop

Welcome to our October Release Retrospective Hop!  We've so enjoyed celebrating our release with you this past week with spotlight hops and guest spotlights.  And for a grand finale, all four of our fabulous October guests have teamed up with the release team today for one last day of spotlighting! Along today's hop there's a fabulous $50 gift voucher to the Verve Store up for grabs, so I hope you've got your hopping legs on today!  {grin}

If you haven't had a chance to check the Guest Spotlights out, click the links below to head on over to their blogs.

So, all of the fun products our Divas and Guests have been spotlighting are available to order in the Verve Store.  Both Just Breathe and Good Work were delayed at the manufacturer and are currently on pre-order status.  I just received confirmation that the sets shipped from our vendor yesterday, so pre-orders should start shipping the middle of next week.  Thanks so much for your patience.  I'm so humbled by how many of you have taken the time to do the pre-order!  Big puffy hearts to you all!
Just BreatheGood WorkPsalm 150:6
Good Work Flower Die SetFrosted Snowfall Sequin Mix

I'm the start of the hop over on my blog, Poetic Artistry.  After I finished making the card for my post over there, I decided to make a short video showing how I made the tag using the scallop topper die in our Good Work Flower Die Set and also how to use the MISTI for a shadowing technique on sentiments.  You can view the video on my YouTube channel. Once the video was done, I decided to make a card using the tag from the video, so I pulled out this week's Viva la Verve sketch and got to work.  Here's a closeup where you can see the shadowing on the sentiment.

Since I'd already chosen pool and brown for the tag, I grabbed some crumb cake designer papers and a bit of sno cone card stock.  I just love those polka dot hearts, so I cut the From the Heart Die Set in white and then in designer paper.  I stamped the polka dot heart from Just Breathe over the two smallest heart die cuts, then matted with the next size up of the designer paper hearts.  I pulled in more polka dots with the long distressed polka dot border strip from Better Together.  Then I finished things off with some enamel dots and a little brown sponging all around.

Want to win some shiny new Verve? I'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win a $50 gift voucher to Verve! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! Deadline for commenting is Sunday, November 1.  Here's the full hop list...
