November Diva Dare - Day 12

Hi Verve fans!  It's Julee here, wrapping up the final day of our Shape Up November Diva Dare.  This month's dare is to feature a common shape on your card (think hexagons, chevrons, arrows, triangles, hearts, stars, etc.) My card is brought to you by the common circle.  {grin}

When I came up with this month's dare, I had envisioned making a card with all sorts of hexagons, using punches and dies and stencils I've been collecting.  Alas, the world seems to be spinning madly on and I didn't have time to both find all those treasures in my chaos and create something, so I decided to postpone that project and make something with this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Two birds, one stone, ya know?

Anyhow, circles are a favorite shape of mine and I've highlighted them here with rhinestones and scallops and snowflakes and jingle bells and polka dots and even a lacy border punch for the bottom of the card!  Pretty simple stamping... the sentiment from Holiday Treats is stamped in Wild Wasabi and the small snowflake from the same set is embossed in white on designer paper and then hand trimmed.

Supply List
Stamps: Holiday Treats (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Christmas Basics (DCWV), white
Ink: wild wasabi (SU!),
Accessories:  wild wasabi ribbon (SU!), white scrapper's floss (Karen Foster), glittered jingle bells (Michael's), rhinestones (Pizzazz Aplenty), Classic & Scallop Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders), doily lace border punch (Martha Stewart)

October Diva Dare - Day 12

Hi Verve fans!  It's Julee here, wrapping up the final day of our Tag You're It October Diva Dare.  This month's dare is tags (make a tag, use a tag on a card, be inspired by a tag, etc.)!  Here's how I answered the dare:

I just love tags and have a drawer in my studio where I'm always collecting different tags that inspire me, thinking I'll add them to a mixed-media project here or there.  So when I saw these Boys Rock tags on some sweet little fuzzy hoodies my boys just got, I knew they were destined for my craft room!

I decided it would be super fun to make a little tag shaped card and hang it from a goody bag.  I used a tag I had laying around as a template for my tag, then made a folded card base 1/8" bigger all around for the card.  The brushed silver cardstock is embossed with a robot from Birthday Bots and then I took the Boys Rock clothing tags, trimmed one end with pennant ends and adhered to my tag card with dimensionals.  The to/from is stamped using the new Holiday Treats set and I cut them out with pinking circles nestabilities and hand wrote my boys' names.  The little cards are finished off with some Metal Mix Sequins on the robot tummies.

Next I decorated some treat bags using all the gear stamps from Geared Up and then made a hanger for each using Laurie Willison's Decorative Card Hanger Die and then added a bit of pewter liquid pearls for a studded look to match.

Supply List
Stamps: Birthday Bots, Geared Up, Holiday Treats (Verve Stamps)
Paper: brushed silver, basic black (SU!), white lunch sack, clothing tags
Ink: black, pewter (Mix'd Media Inx)
Accessories:  Metal Mix Sequins (Verve), Decorative Card Hanger Die (Soapbox Creations), Pinking Circles Nestabilites (Spellbinders), liquid pearls (Ranger)

Deadline to link your cards is 8PM Mountain on Saturday, November 2nd.  Entries must be new (posted 10/11 or later), include at least one Verve product, include a tag, and be linked up to the linky widget by 8pm Mountain on 11/02/13.

Verve October Spotlight Hop - Day 3

Hi Verve fans!  We're back with Day 3 of our 4 day blog hop series celebrating our release that's schedule for sometime tonight.  (My twins have been sick all week, and I'm running behind, so I'm not sure on an exact time that the website will be ready, but definitely sometime before Saturday morning!)

Today the Divas are shining their sneaky little spotlights on a new set called Unto Us.  Along with some gorgeous Christmas sentiments, this set sports some wintry images, with coordinating dies in the Reindeer Fun Die Set, as well as a chevron label to work with the beloved Classy Label Die.  So settle in for some beautiful Christmas creations along today's hop!

We'll be drawing a random comment winner from all of the comments along today's hop, so be sure to leave a little shout out at each stop as you hop around!

Today's Blog Hop Prize:  Unto Us + Reindeer Fun Die Set
Comment Deadline for Prize Drawing:  Sunday, 10/27 at 5pm Mountain

For my card today, I wanted to keep the layout simple, so this Christmas sentiment could be the focus.   I've used the "They shall call His name Jesus" sentiment and the chevron label stamp from Unto Us and paired it with the cross images from Each Day (part of our September release).

The crosses are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and hand cut.  The Chevron Label was stamped on white card stock and cut with the Classy Label Die.  I then stamped it again on designer paper and paper pieced the inner portion of the label, then popped the cross image up over the top.  A cherry cobbler seam binding bow and some teeny nail art rhinestones are the only embellishment.

Supply List:
Stamps: Unto Us, Each Day (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Santa's List (Teresa Collins), early espresso (SU!), white
Ink: early espresso, cherry cobbler (SU!)
Accessories: Classy Label Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), cherry cobbler seam binding (SU!), nail art rhinestones

Unto Us is an elegant Christmas set with sentiments focused on the true meaning of Christmas, as well as winter imagery and a classy chevron label that beautifully frame each of the sentiments in this set.  The reindeer silhouette and snowflake have coordinating dies in the new Reindeer Fun Die Set, and the label coordinates with our very popular Classy Label Die.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  We'll be back again tomorrow with our final tour of the new release!  Until then, be sure to hop around if you haven't already!

For my card today, I've used the chevron tag from Holiday Treats and a couple different snowflake images for a soft, wintery Christmas card. The chevron tag image coordinates with the Tagged Rectangle Die  which I used as my focal point, adding a soft sky snowflake in the center and then overstamping with the Merry Christmas sentiment in black.   For the horizontal panel, I stamped two of the tags side by side, overlapping the rounded parts, then cut out with scissors for a fun little background strip.  A couple snowflakes on each side balance things out and then I used the pointed snowflake from the set and the coordinating die in the Winter Fun Die Set for the snowflake embellishing the tag. I accented with ribbon from the Stormy Skies Ribbon Collection, some Pastel Sequin Mix and soft grey pearls.  The soft sky layer is embossed with a snowflake flurries embossing folder from Darice.

Supply List:
Stamps: Holiday Treats (Verve Stamps)
Paper: soft sky, white
Ink: soft sky, basic grey
Accessories: Tagged Rectangle DieWinter Fun Die Set (A Cut Above by VERVE), Stormy Skies Ribbon Collection (Verve), Pastel Sequin Mix (Verve), grey pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty), snowflake embossing folder (Darice), glossy accents, glitter

Holiday Treats is a super fun holiday set perfect for packaging treats, but also great for card making.  Chevron mugs and java cups are perfect for coffee or tea lovers and with our coordinating Cup of Cheer Die Set, they're so easy to add to your project.  Add in some snowflakes, which can work with the Frosty Snowflakes Die SetFloral Circles Die Set or the Winter Fun Die Set (pointy snowflake) and you've got the perfect wintery creation.  Lots of holiday sentiments and a chevron tag that coordinates with the Tagged Rectangle Die round out the set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  We'll be back again tomorrow with our first looks at another new set and die!  Until then, be sure to hop around if you haven't already!
