Hello Verve friends and welcome to December's Diva Dare!  It's Andrea here with you today sharing this month's dare is entitled Favorite Things.  With the busyness of the Christmas Season upon us and the New Year quickly approaching, it's nice to take a breather and look back at what we've accomplished.

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  This month's dare is entitled Favorite Things.  With the busyness of the Christmas Season upon us and the New Year quickly approaching, it's nice to take a breather and look back at what we've accomplished. 

So this month, we are daring you to share your favorite Verve creation(s) for this year OR create a new one with one of your favorite Verve products.  

I scrolled through all my 2014 Verve creations and could not get below five cards....sorry!

I adore Strong Anchor and the matching Nautical Die Set!  Such a great set for masculine cards.

Pink Power is one of my favorite sets released this year.  It has many encouraging and inspiring sentiments and the matching Ribbon Die is simply divine!  I went very girly with this card, which is a bit of a stretch for me, and I just love how it turned out.

This colour combination makes me smile, as does this fabulous flower image from Happy Place and the matching Happy Doodles die set.

I had so much fun making this masculine card using Wonderful Marvelous and the Starry Die Set. 

Last but not least is this card which just makes my heart go pitter patter.  The sentiment from Words of Wisdom stands for everything I believe in - speaking truth amid the status quo.  The the pink polka dotted flowers created with the Loopy Blooms die against the woodgrain just makes me happy :)

November 2014 Diva Dare

  Vellum Visions - November Diva Dare

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  This month's dare is entitled Vellum Visions.  Soft and classy, vellum always makes a big impression.  So, this month, we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project. 

I love white on white cards and had a winter wonderland concept in my mind for this month's Diva Dare.  I hand cut my "snow banks" and used both the embossed and debossed side of my Swiss Dots embossing folder to create some depth between the two snow banks with the texture difference.  Next, I used the Christmas tree die from the Winter Fun set to cut out five vellum trees and arranged them on my hills, making one a 3D tree for some dimension and interest.  A few bling centered snowflakes and silver cording along the bottom added a touch of colour and sparkle to my winter wonderland, and I finished things off by adding a small tag using "joy" from Inspire Hope as it is my favorite Christmas word.

October 2014 Diva Dare

  Pink Power- October Diva Dare

Welcome to October's Diva Dare!  This month's dare is entitled Pink Power in honor of October being breast cancer awareness month.  Many of us have had friends and family who have waged a battle against this disease, and over the past five years, I have had two very dear friends who have both battled and won their fight against breast cancer.     

So needless to say, I simply adore this new Pink Power set, and am totally smitten with this gorgeous silhouette!  One of the friends I mentioned above decided to go bald and beautiful during her chemo treatments, and I made this card with her in mind as she carried herself so proudly at a time when one does not exactly feel beautiful.   

For my card, I pulled out two pink papers and accented them with silver, some bling, scallops and a heart.  I couldn't resist using the Ribbon Die again as it is such a wonderful symbol.  The butterfly is a symbol of metamorphosis from dealing with being bald from chemo to new hair growth and a new lease on life after treatment.

Terrific Trios - September Diva Dare

Welcome to September's Diva Dare!  This month's dare is entitled Terrific Trios.  Back to school time usually means life is a 3 ring circus, so this month we're daring you to add 3 of something to your card or project. 

I used this week's Viva La Verve sketch by Diva Charmaine, and immediately thought of using this wonderful image from the newly released One Cup.  Needless to say, the trio aspect of the dare was all taken care of wink, wink.  The matching Cuppa Tea Die Set was great for cutting out the cup image and then I paper pieced them with MME's Stella and Rose papers (still love these papers!).  Opted for a natural pallet so the cups would pop, and added the crimped panel and some raffia for a bit of texture.
