July Project Parade-Day 12

Good morning, it is Teresa.  I am luvin all the divas projects, aren't you?  I hope that you will play along with us, you know there is always prizes to be won!  I new as soon as I heard the theme this month what I wanted to do.  I do know people in the service, my Dad, other family members, and lots of people in our church have served and are still serving.  I help with doing care packages for them throughout the year.  I turned my attention to the men and woman whom I have done nothing for.
I have been wanting to donate cards to a wonderful organization, Operation Write Home.  This was the perfect timing and I must say that I kept these cards so simple because of the guidelines, but I am more proud of these than most of my other cards.  I really thought about who may receive one of these and there need to send  a note of love back home.  I hope whom ever will choose one of my cards to send home will see the effort I made to make it special!
As I mentioned there are some guidelines, it is super important that you take the time to read them in your effort to help.  You can read all about it here.  NO glitter is a huge guideline, you can read about that here.  The cards must be marked Operation Write Home on the back, I made labels on my computer.  Only A2 sized cards and the tuck of the envelopes are also important, you can read about that here and watch the video.  These ladies put forth a huge effort to stay organized and keep it uniform, lets help them help the men and woman in the service....true hero's!
I kept all of the cards similar, using Carolyn Gavin's designer paper from K & Company.  I chose it because of the fun patterns and wonderful colors, I wanted them to be light and cheery.  For the card on the left I used Always On My Mind, Blue Skies, and the tiny heart is from Wild Thing I used one of my favorite sketches from Jen d.  For the card on the right I used Blue Skies, Beautiful You, and Floral Whimsy, this sketch is from the Dirty Girl Challenges.

I did not use ribbon on these cards, I wanted them to be lighter and not as bulky.  I used yarn and a crocheted flower on these two.  For these I used Always On My Mind and  Blue Skies.  The sketch for the one of the left is from a Verve Challenge way back when and the one on the right is one of Amber's Viva la Verve sketches.

I used Always On My Mind and Blue Skies for these two also.  These sketches are from the Dirty Girl Challenges and a favorite of Mercy's sketches.  I hope you like my "Hero" project and take time out of your day to thank a hero in your life!

March Project Parade Day 6

Good Monday morning, it is Teresa.  I am bringing to you my flower project for this months project parade.  Have you started on yours yet?  I have been wanting to make one of these paper wallets, the tutorial is from SCS.  Of course I had girly in mind, but wow it really turned out girly with lots of bling.  If you have not tried one of these you should, it was super easy to make.  I used the very beautiful and elegant flower from the Easter Joy set.

I heat embossed the flowers, cut them out, and added a clear gemstone to the centers.  The photo of the inside shows the sides and the color of pink Bazzil card stock I started with.  Once you add a tiny bit of sponging, the versamark, and embossing powder; it did change the color of the paper to a darker pink.
I made a card to match using this weeks mojo sketch, you can see the sketch and all the mojo makers creations at the The Mojo Monday Blog,  the sentiment is from the Beautiful You set.

This is a closer look at the gorgeous flowers, so lovely.  I sure hope you join us with this months flower themed project parade.  I enjoy looking at all of your creations and try to show you each of you some luv with a comment.  Enjoy!

October Project Parade--Day 8 (The Last Day!)

My cuttlebug and I have a special bond. I did my first embossing with him after my husband brought him home for me as a Christmas present three years ago. Since that time, I've spent many days and nights with him, feeding it paper and A,B, and C plates, folders and dies as I lovingly give his little handle a turn. He was as excited as I was to learn that Verve needed him in a big way this month as a hero for the October Project Parade. He served proudly along with his friend, the Heat Gun, Big Blue. Okay, okay, down to business---I really do love embossing and only recently acquired a taste for heat embossing---I LOVE IT and have actually learned how to do it without making such a mess (finally)!!! I'm sure you are already aware that this month's Verve Project Parade Challenge is to emboss to your heart's content! Heat or Dry--easy peasy! You still have a little time to upload your creation and link it to THIS POST where you can also find all the details on how you can win $15 in Verve Bucks! I just want to thank my best tool friends in the world, precious Cuttlebug and my Heat Gun, Big Blue who really makes me melt. Without them, this card would not have been possible. Love, sus

Polka Dot Bliss

Have you seen the delicious inspiration piece Julee chose for this month's Project Parade? When I first saw it, it made me think of a 1950's soda shop. I don't know why, but when I think of the 1950s and soda shops or sock hops, I also think of polka dots! That's where I started with this inspiration. I used the Welcome Baby Cuttlebug Folder on the Pink Pirouette cardstock. I used the three different sized flowers from Grateful Elegance, and a sentiment from Beautiful You. The last "frilly" touches were the Threading Water border punch and organdy ribbon.

Wanna win some Verve Bucks? Just upload your creation to this post no later than noon on September 5th. If you upload to SCS, please use keyword VVPP05, so we can see all of your delicious creations! A random participant will be drawn on September 5th and receive $15 in Verve Bucks to spend at the Verve Stamps store! Can't wait to see your creations!
