Sensational Stripes Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop

Hi Verve fans!  It's time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop!  There are two ways to win Verve prizes... check out and comment on the design team's blog posts to see their take on the inspiration, then go get inky and link up your take on the challenge to be eligible in our prize drawings!  Be sure to scroll down for all the challenge details and the master hop list!

The stripes theme made me think of the Seeing Stars set, and I was in need of a baby card, so decided to swap out the blue in the inspiration piece for pink.  I stamped the stars on pink pirouette and hand cut, then matted with smoky slate stars cut with the large star punch from SU!  Next I pulled out the Emery Plain Jane and stamped it a few times on some stripey pink paper, then cut individual pieces out and layered on foam tape to add some dimension.

The Little Star plain jane is my focal piece, stamped in crumb cake, then cut with stitched circle dies and matted with smoky slate.  I colored the stars with a copic marker and then highlighted with a touch of glossy glaze.  Next I stamped the card base using the Peaceful Medallions set randomly in pink pirouette, crumb cake and smoky slate.  I added in a piece of pink card stock embossed with strieps, then finished off with some twine wrapped around the card and a couple of enamel stars to adorn the stripey stars.

Stripes go with everything! Make them nautical, or pair with florals for a graphic look. Use stripes however you're inspired! Use the inspiration graphic or head off in your own direction, just show us your stripes!

April 2014 Diva Dare - Day 12

Hi Verve fans!  It's Julee here, popping in to wrap up this month's Little Things Diva Dare.  The deadline for your challenge entries and comments is 8pm on Wednesday, April 23.  I've added the linky widget to the bottom of this post, so it's easy to find!

For my card, I pulled out the Birthday Bots set and got to work making a card for a friend who is expecting a little girl.  The bot is stamped onto a pre-made tag shape, then I paper pieced the jumper and colored the hat with copics and added some dots around the tag to set it off.  The sentiment is colored with Copics and then coated with glossy glaze.  I did the same to some star die cuts from the Starry Die, sprinkling a little glitter on them for a some shine.  A stick pin and some ribbon from the Truly Madly Deeply Ribbon Collection accent things and I embossed the pretty in pink layer with my favorite Stars & Swirls embossing folder.

January Diva Dare - Day 9

Hello! It's Amber here with another day of Diva Dare! Aren't you loving the new format? 

Some details:

We dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - Baby Love!  The baby part could be for a new little someone...or a special someone!  Be sure to look for the details on how you can win some new Verve goodies at the end of this post!

Well, it's no DOUBLE DOG DARE or anything, so don't be afraid to jump in and play with us! 

I answered the challenge with a baby card! I have a few friends and cousins who are due with their own bundles of joy soon so I've been in baby card makin' mode!

I wanted to do something a *little* different, so I cut about 1.25" off the card front for some visual interest and then hung the sentiment panel off the side!

I colored the animals from To the Moon and stuck 'em behind the Smallest Things PJ panel, I think they're so cute!

It's mostly covered up by the animals, but the sentiment panel is built on top of the Classy Label die. The sentiment was cut out with a label punch by EK Success.

January Diva Dare ~ Day 3

Hi Everyone! It's Sankari here with Day 3 of the Diva Dare, where this month its all about Baby Love, baby! Here are the deets:

Can I tell you how much I have been loving the sweet little animals that Julee has created with the To The Moon stamp set? Each of the little baby animals are soooo adorable and I couldn't wait to give them some more love for my project today. One of our sweet friends is having a baby in a couple of months (a wee baby girl!) and so I couldn't wait to create a little somethin' somethin' for her and her little bundle of preciousness :) I used this little onesie template (created by stampercolleen on SCS) and decided to create a little onesie card and matching giftbag:

For the onesie, used yummo Pixilicious papers and cut out the onesie pattern and outlined it with a bit of liquid pearls and used the little teddy bear with the window frame technique (Jackie and Amy - I totally love how you did the little guy in the window and I couldn't wait to "window" him too :D I punched out a little heart for him to hold and popped up the sentiment "welcome" on the side.

Card Ingredients:

Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black and Grape from Memento

Accessories: MS heart punch, bling, eyelets, EK sucess punch, dimensionals and button from stash.

For the giftbag, used one of the 6x6 pages from the DP set and had that as the background with another paper pieced onesie on the front. I decorated this onesie with the Classy Oval frame from the Love Notes stamp set. I stamped the sentiment: "Sugar and Spice and everything nice" onto the frame and then attached a little bear with a heart on it and popped it up onto the gift bag. I finished the bag off with a bit of ribbon:
