Flying hearts

Hi all, Victoria now has flooding so keep those prayers coming for those areas and also for the recovery proses. Thank you so much for the many messages sent they are all appreciated. This project is one of my older iris folding patterns which Ive adapted to suit some punch art as well, very easy to do if you have never done iris folding before! All punches used are from stampin up and can be purchased here through me. I used Bashful blue ink for the clouds and the saying comes from an older stampin up set called "so many sayings". For more details you can find a folding pattern sheet for the wings here and also check the below pics.....

For the wings on these smaller hearts I have embossed some lines to help make them curved. And the below pic shows how I have shaded the main large heart.

A simple project but hopefully one you will enjoy :) sit back and watch my video....
Blessings to you

Small Men's Briefcase gift box

Hi all, Our nice cool winter has produced some really great fruit this year! the Mandarins have been so sweet and same with our lemonades. We got a nice lot of large passion fruits that's enjoyed climbing all over the Mandarin tree! we had to pick a lot of them already as some other little creatures are enjoying them as well and leaving us just the skin shells! we only have a very small back yard but we have been amazed how much you can actually grow in such a small space. We also have a Guava tree that should produce next year mmm yum cant wait!
anyway i was watching one of Dawn's videos today and just loved this men's shirt and tie card she made and wanted to use up the leftover DSP on something that could match the card so I came up with a cute little briefcase gift box! you could get 2 out of the leftover paper. See the pattern and video below (sorry the sound is a bit out of whack on this one...not sure why), Enjoy!
Blessings to you

Folded Card Front / video tutorial

Hi all, my head is so busy at the moment as we are packing to go away for a 10 day holiday to Great Keppel Island....off the north Queensland coast of Australia.....it's so exciting, we've had this planned now for a while as something spacial to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. strange how when we are the busiest we seem to get heaps done....sooo i wanted to leave you all with this tutorial for you all to try while im away. One of the ladies from my card making group bought this idea along to show me, I think its a nice change form the regular flat card fronts and looks great as a Christmas card idea. Ill post the pattern below...To make the poinsettia flower I used a large maple leaf punch cut into sections and a 1/2" circle punch to mount it on (not shown here).

I have circled the stamp i used and shown you here where to cut the leaf in sections for the flower, punch 3 leaves and cut each one in this way then mount then on the 1/2" circle punch. to add glitter to the swirly stamp i used a quickie glue pen and traced the swirls then added glitter.

Hers's another one i made. I added some more emboss lines around the edges and attached this cute little flower i learned to do by layering up 2-3 large flowers and 2 smaller ones. sponge some colour on them and put a brad through them all. Spray them with water and crunch each petal up how you would like it to sit and let dry. This works really well and dries quite hard. I then sponged a little more colour on it and added some glitter. And Ive also done a video of this card front as we all know we learn much easier by watching someone else do something.. i hope you all enjoy and catch you all when we get back!!....Valita

A cute Gift card Box / Punched Tulip

Monday class has come and gone and its been really cold here.....bring on summer!!! never thought I'd say that. Now ive lost so much weight i feel the cold so bad....lost all my fluffy blankets!! Well im going to get this posted out quickly because im off to the hospital soon. My uncle had a massive heart attach yesterday and they say he may not make it. My mum is so upset. He's not real good I'm affraid, a very Godly man he is and has been some one to look up to for a long time.....so here my cards for you this week with a heavy heart.
The first is called a Gift Card Box. I found these instruction on the net while surfing around one day some time ago. Just be ware to line all the shape up before you emboss or tape down. as the first ones of mine went in the bin.....but i was happy how it turned out in the end....worth having a go. Heres some differnt veiws of the same card.

I thought it was cute the way it pops up when you open the box lid.....remember to make nice crisp folds and the card will work better the more you use it. Heres a side veiw.

And here are a few pics that Shona sent to me....they are great!

Our second card was snack easy using 4 oval punches folded in half to make this pretty Tulip.....

Well enjoy and have a lovely day....Valita

Bee's on a pop up card

Hi all, boy monday's come around fast!!! in todays card lesson we made a slider card and a quick stamping card...so im going to give you a quick tutorial on how i made my little bee to decorate the card. Some things you will need are your punches glues and deckle scissors and you know you cant stop at one once you start...LOL
We have our son off to a teen leadership camp this week so my mind and prayers are in two places at the moment. anyway enjoy:)

So you will need to punched 2 hearts in parchment paper, 2 eggs 1 orange 1 black. 1 small circle(7mm) and for the antani i used a snoflake punch.....my swirl punch just punched its last:(

Using the deckle scissors cut the black egg into six.

Using 3, glue these onto the orange egg.

Glue on the head.

Using the snowflake punch make cuts where ive marked and attach under the head.

To make the wings first fold in half.

Then fold one side back down following the middle fold line.

Flip over the heart and fold down the other side...kinda like making a paper air plane.
Open the folds and it should look like this. a nice M shape.

Now use a good quick drying glue to attach the wings and finish by marking with a white gel pen and a little glitter.I think hes's cute and he can be a great addition to any type of card.

and finally a quick peek at the second card.....until next post...Valita

Diamond fold card and another monday

Hi everyone, Im late getting mondays class out again....but here it is. We had fun trying this diamond fold card. The Youtube video tutorial on how to make this is found here. Please note this is not me on the video as some have thought. LOL. If you cant veiw youtube here is a link to circle of crafters Judith has a pattern there just scroll down.
I love the scallop punch which i made this center flower with, i bought it not long ago and i know it will have many uses.....a great investment. The leaves were made using ribbon. Ive had a few people ask me how i made the flower scince i posted this so ill add this short tutorial for you.

Using a scallop punch out make cuts into the center without loosing any petals.

Using your shaping tool and a padded mat press the petals so they curl up.

On each petal make a half turn then add a center, gliter etc

I hope this has helped.....Heres a pic of the second card.

This is a great shadow box stamp from Impressive stamps Australia. It can be used in so many ways. I added punches over the stamps and 3d the lady bug.
I have to say thankyou to Mel for the you rock my socks bolg award she gave me and would love to pass this on to...well i cant give it back to Mel cause at the moment shes just rocked my socks right off!! LOL...so I'll pass this on to Chrissy. You rock Girl! thankyou for the inspiration you have given me and many others....Luv Valita

Well its just a quick post today but I'll leave you with this .....Valita
