"CHIBI the Destroyer"

Well while we're at it with cute little CONAN Funko's and Chibi's I would like to share with you a little piece by Michael Cannon sent via his account at Deviant art. Conan ( Chibi ) the Destroyer. It took him 30 painstaking hours to finish up his homage to the late great Masterpiece by Frank Frazetta and I must say...I like it a lot.

Take a peek at the how to process in the bottom photo there. He drew it out and then got busy wit' da' colors. I'd give this a 10 on the excellent scale. In fact Michael Cannon created a masterpiece of his own...great job Michael and thank you for sharing. We look forward to more great art from you.

Conan the Destroyer Article from Star Blazer Magazine!

I came across this old article hyping the release of the abysmal crap-fest, Conan the Destroyer. They do their best to really talk it up and I admit it's a charming look into the pop-culture past of our favorite barbarian. It's followed by a brief two-page interview with the director (i.e. - the man who single-handedly killed the Conan movie franchise) and then capped off by an almost hilarious contest page in which fans were invited to write in why the loved Conan the Destroyer. My answer would have been brief, and probably included an f-bomb or two. ;)

Enjoy...

Conan the Tiny!

I stumbled across this shot of Arnold being easily lifted by Wilt Chamberlain and Andre the Giant during the shoot of Conan the Destroyer. They make Conan look like a dwarf!

Thought you all would get a kick out of it and I'm just revving up to get back to some serious Conan blogging!

By the way, Cromsblood, you've been doing one hell of a job running the blog while I was away! I lift my cup to you!

"Conan II" Vintage T-shirt!

There was a period there when the working title of Conan the Destroyer was actually Conan II: The Destroyer. Whatever. So every now and then, some old merch shows up with that title on it, making this vintage t-shirt kind of funny.

Original Conan Movie Props for Sale!

Thanks to a link on the Conan Completist Forums, I came across this online auction site that sells all kinds of movie props, including a whole bunch of original Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer stuff. These are the actual movie props used in the making of these motion pictures. Not replica collectibles! And the prices show it, some commanding in the tens of thousands of dollars.

You'll find stuff like Sandahl Bergman's Valeria costume and boots...

I strongly suggest stopping by the site, found HERE, and perusing all the awesome Conan goodies. Man, I wish I could afford to buy some of this stuff! One day, when I win the lottery and am a big shot gazillionaire, I plan to have a big, giant room filled with this kind of stuff. And you will all be envious! ;)

1984 Starlog Interview with Queen Taramis!

I found a link to this interview via the Conan Completist Forums from Starlog magazine in 1984 with Sarah Douglas who played Queen Taramis in Conan the Destroyer. It's a pretty funny article where she talks about her cut sex scene with Arnold, slapping the bajeezus out of Wilt Chamberlin and how rather normal and lovely Grace Jones really is (hoo boy). Enjoy!
