the art of Gerald Brom ! ( Rhymes with CROM ! )
The following text was taken from Brom's bio on wikipedia...enjoy -Mikeyboy
Visit BROM'S website and marvel at his work here @ http://www.bromart.com/
" Brom was born March 9, 1965, in Albany, Georgia. As the son of a U.S. Army pilot he spent much of his early years on the move, living in many countries such as Japan and Germany (he graduated from high school in Frankfurt, Germany), and U.S. states including Alabama and Hawaii. Brought up as a military dependent he was known by his last name only, and now signs his name as simply Brom: "I get that asked more than just about any other question. It's my real name, my last name. I got called Brom all the time as a kid, and it just stuck."
Brom has been drawing and painting since childhood, although he had never taken any formal art classes. "I wouldn't exactly call myself self-taught, because I've always looked at the work of other artists and emulated what I liked about it. So you can say they taught me." Brom cites the work of Frank Frazetta, N.C. Wyeth, and Norman Rockwell as influences on his style: "Okay... Rockwell isn't the kind of inspiration most people expect from me, but he just painted things so well. To me it's not so much the genre but the way it's done, and you have to admire his technique."

CONAN and TARZAN
I saw this drawing by Tom Yeates over at " SINGULAR POINTS " A quite excellent blog if I may say. I just had to share. It calls to mind a pitch that I had shopped around to DARK HORSE a few years ago.
A team up of the two characters in one great adventure. I was in the second phase of my plot synopsis and drawing up some plate designs and character sheets. I was told that there will absolutely be no CONAN team ups ever not even a one shot elseworlds type hypothetical derision. In keeping with CONAN's roots and staying true to the REH vision...I completely understood. It's ok with me. But I finished my plot anyway. It is an unfinished piece but I have two issues laid out on paper and mayhaps one day I will share it with ye. It just depends on whether or not the good people would like to see it or read it.
It does of course involve time travel...of a mystical nature and a fight between our two heroes and reincarnation and mirrors and sub human ape men ( which is a big part in both authors lexicon of savagery. ) But in order for me to share or even finish my outlines...there would need to be a demand. So...in this case if anybody is interested in reading my story just let me know here in the comments. If I see a particular number of people. I'll share with you all.
In the mean time enjoy the great artwork of Tom Yeates and visit " Singular Points" http://singular--points.blogspot.com/ trust me its a great and interesting blog. Love Mikeyboy
EDIT: On a related note, there is in fact a Conan/Tarzan crossover from Turkey that's been kicking around for a long time, although it's not entirely original (some of the artwork was "borrowed" from JB via SSOC, and possibly elsewhere)...it's a fairly long story and Turkish is tough to translate, but one day I hope to post it around here in English. And I've gotta agree about Singular Points, definitely one of my regular stops on the mighty interwebs. Great stuff Charles! Cromsblood

Conan vs. The '80s by Jerome Opeña
Ever want to see Conan taking out such '80s luminaries such as Cobra Commander, Thundercats' Pathro or MOTU's Skeletor? Well now you can thanks to this drawing from Jerome Opeña. I spotted this on Super Punch which linked to a sparse art blog with a rather familiar sounding name...

Rejected Conan Art by Paul Maybury!
I spotted these pages via artist Paul Maybury's Tumblr site, where he posted a few pages of art that he submitted to Darkhorse Comics in the hopes of getting hired. Alas, it was not meant to be. I, personally, think this art is brilliant, and even though a bit of a departure (apparently, Dark Horse thought it was too cartoony), I think that the character of Conan is strong enough to withstand the interpretation and the overall mythos will be stronger for its inclusion. This... art... kicks... ass.

Just a Little Conan Art...
I just saw this little piece of art, done in an inspired Kubert-ian style in watercolor, on deviantART and simply had to pass it on here. It never ceases to amaze me how artists continue to be inspired by Conan. Enjoy...

EVEN MORE Conan Art by Rodney Buchemi!
One of the blog's favorite artists, Rodney Buchemi, who's work was showcased HERE, was kind enough to drop me a quick note and send us a couple of new pieces of art for us to share here on CROM!
Rodney is one seriously top-notch artist as clearly evidenced in these two pieces. Have a look and see for yourself!
