Feature Friday - Uniko On Trend with Ink & Flips and More!

Hello & Happy Friday.

It's been a wonderful, although busy week packing all your lovely release orders, thank you! I am delighted to come by today and share the first Uniko Feature Friday of 2025.

You might of heard me say or mention an upcoming feature in Simply Cards & Papercrafts Magazine during the release. Well, the issue has finally been published and I can share a little peek at the Uniko 'On Trend' feature.

Issue 266 is now available in most UK supermarkets and online at CraftStash. And my newest innovative and unique Ink & Flip Stencils, Ink & Flip Layering Geometric Gem and Layering Flower are featured.

It's always an honour to be asked to make cards for a feature and even more so when I am able to tie in two new products. Here's a little peek at the 4 page feature. I give you some more fun ideas and ways to use these stencils.

This inspired me to get inky and give some more love to the Ink & Flip Layering Geometric Gem Stencil and I have a new video over on the Uniko YouTube Channel, HERE.

As you know, when I design products, I am always thinking of how they can be paired with others that I have previously released. One idea I had was pairing the gem with the Stencil - Bokeh Layering Hearts to create a loved up card.

I decided to create a Valentine's Day card, that I might actually for once give to my husband! But you could easily change out the sentiment for an engagement, anniversary or wedding card.

Anyway, that's all from me today.

Uniko's Customer Top 10 of 2023 - Number 5

Hello.

Now comes the time between Christmas & New Year where we no longer know what day it is, or what we are supposed to be doing! Though saying that, it is a time of year I actually love. Today The Beans have been enjoying their Christmas gifts and this afternoon they have gone to spend time with their grandparents. So I have come into the studio to create and make cards.

Plus, I am here today to share Uniko's Customer Top 10 of 2023. Today we have the 5th most purchased product and it might be no surprise, it is another Mid Century Modern one. Today is a Stencil - MOD Background Builders Circles.

Designed just like the Stencil - MOD Background Builder, this one however features quarter circles and fun semi circle accents.

Here is how I decided to use it today...

I think I was inspired by the weather today with shades of grey! This one was a little easier to mask and ink each section of 4 quarter circles. I used Altenew inks for this, Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond and Pure Graphite.

I then decided accent the background with the Love You heart from Always & Forever which I stamped in Cranberry ink.

Thanks for joining me again today.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Background Builders: Hearts

Morning All,

Steph here today. How is 2023 treating you so far? I feel like it's going too fast already and with that in mind I've turned my thoughts to Valentine's Day cards using Uniko Background Builders: Hearts stamp set. These background builders sets are always so versatile as you can create backgrounds (as per the stamp set name!) or just use individual elements to create beautiful cards. I have shown both in today's post.

For my first card I was very much thinking of Valentine's Day and went with the reds and pinks. The heart I have used here is my favourite from the set as I love the 'sketchy' effect and it is also present in other Uniko sets so mix and match away! (Sunshine & Rainbows & Mid Century Modern Florals). The sentiment (XOXO) is from the Uniko Always & Forever stamp set.

I stamped and heat embossed the hearts and sentiments onto scraps of red, pink and cream card before die cutting into squares. I then added in further squares and rectangles of card to create a patchwork effect. This is a great way to use up card scraps, of which I have far too many!

My next card uses one of the strips from the stamp set to create a heart covered background. I used my stamping platform and placed the stamp to the right hand side (when shut) so I could leave the stamp in place and simply shift the cardstock to the left each time I wanted to stamp a new column. I then used one of the other heart stamps from the set to create the teal and olive  hearts before fussy cutting and laying on top. I added a lovely large sentiment from the Uniko BIG & BOLD - Hugs stamp set and a simple small heart from the Uniko Flower Power #3 stamp set to fill the gap in the bottom right hand corner.

Finally I wanted to use the most popular product from the recent Uniko Jan mini releaseBackground Blocks Linear. I can see why this stamp was so popular as it was so brilliantly showcased during the product introductions but also because it is so versatile. I simply stamped the BB Linear in dark grey, at an angle, and to this I added the outline heart from the Background Builders: Hearts set. Once again I have fussy cut the hearts, both inside and out (I'm a bit of a fussy cutting fan!), before placing them on foam pads and adhering to the card front. The sentiment is from another one of the Jan mini release sets called Mid Century Modern Frames

Thanks for joining me today and hopefully I've given you some inspiration for your Valentine's makes, or not, as you can see that two out of the three are not actually for Valentine's Day!

Much love

Steph x

WIN it Wednesday!

 Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a good week so far, mines been as crazy as ever, but that just seems to be lockdown life at the moment!

Today I thought it would be nice to have another WIN it Wednesday. I did a couple of these during the countdown to Christmas for some added cheer during these crazy days. So as the crazy continues I thought I would have it as a regular feature once a month.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching I thought a LOVE themed prize would be good. So let's have a look and see what this months prize is...

To be in the chance of winning this prize package* of Always & Forever, BIG & BOLD Love AND You Are Sentiments Outlined simply leave a comment on this post no later than Midnight GMT Sunday 31st January 2021.

The winner will be randomly selected and announced on the blog during the first week of February. Please just one comment per person and I do have comment moderation on!

* If the randomly selected winner owns any or all of the prize an alternative prize will be offered.

And as it's always nice to see the stamps in action, here are a couple of cards from the Uniko Brand Ambassadors from when the stamps were reintroduced and released in 2020.
