Introducing... Ink & Flip Snowflake

Happy Thursday.

Welcome to the last day of the December 2023 mini release introductions. Today we are introducing the next addition to our unique Ink & Flip Stencil series, Ink & Flip Snowflake.

Just like the previously released Stencil - Ink & Flip Star, which you can see in action HERE. The result, a beautiful geometric snowflake. You might recognise this product from some peeks I shared of the Uniko Stamping Retreat a few months ago. The attendees of the retreat were the first to test the stencil & receive it as their free gift.

Anyway, lets have a look at how the team have used the stencil...

This stencil, along with all the products we've introduced this week will be available tomorrow, 9am GMT Friday 8th December 2023.

Hello December & A Winner!

How did we get to the final month of the year?

I really don't know where November went, but one thing I am determined to see 2021 out with some festive fun, so you're really going to want to stick around and check in 😉 regularly!

So I am starting the day off with some festive creativity and a belated winner as I simply forgot to announce it, so my apologies 🙈

First up I have two cards to share using the prize going to one lucky person at the end of the post...

My first card I wanted to pair the Stencil - Mid Century Modern Shapes with Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake. I think they have paired together pretty well, especially with this icy aqua colour combo.

I used three shades of Altenew Sweet Dreams ink collection , Dew Drops, Aqualicious and Teal Cave. I added some sparkle to the snowflake and a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

As we've officially begun the countdown to Christmas I decided to put a festive spin on the Flower Power #5 stencil...

My idea is it represents a modern interpretation of a white Christmas rose. I used white pigment ink through the stencil and once dried I added yellow ink to the centre.

I then decided to add a sheen with embossing through the stencil with VersaMark & WOW Glossy Clear embossing powder. I then added a simple sentiment from Christmas Sentiments.

Okay, so that's my creativity for today. How about we get to that winner...?

With the help of Random.org the lucky comment left on the post HERE is...

Wow, these are gorgeous stencils and very unique!

Congratulations 🎉 please send me an email with your postal address no later than Friday 17th December 2021 to claim your prize.

Thank you to all those who left comments and joined in on the fun. Don't worry, there is SO much more fun to be had this month :)😊

Countdown to Christmas Day 20 - Stencil Sunday

 Happy Sunday!

Today was a much more relaxed day for me, it has been nice to go at a slower pace and enjoy some time with The Beans and my husband.

I spent some time outside in the garage while The Beans had a play on their bikes. Our garage is a multi-function area. It is your usual storage of tools and bikes, but we have made it our home gym too. We have a treadmill, a cross-trainer and my husband has a weights bench in there and his pride and joy a full size pool (billiard) table!

Anyway, back at the end of Summer I spent an afternoon sorting and tidying a lovely workout area for my to do my home fitness programmes in and planned on getting some gym flooring to make it a little nicer and more appealing to do the floor work!

Then my husbands boss passed away and my husband had the job of emptying (and storing) the works unit and it took up all the lovely space I had made. So today we spent time clearing and moving stuff into the loft area so that the flooring I have ordered has a space to be put down and a new piece of equipment mounted on the wall.

As much as I find it easy to workout indoors, it is home fitness after all and I literally fall out of bed at 5:30, do a 5 min affirmation a bit of reading and then do my workout at 6am with an awesome group of ladies via zoom (my accountability / team), I keep the TV volume down and don't play music as to not to wake anyone!

It's going to be pretty cold in the garage at 6am, but I am looking forward to being able to have the volume up a little, listen to music and not worry about waking anyone up! I am sure I will soon warm up as I do my workout.

As you might be able to tell and if you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed my sister account and how BIG a part of my life investing in my health & fitness has become. Not only have I seen a difference physically, it has helped me especially with my mental and emotional health post lockdown 1 and during lockdown 2. I'd hit a big time low in lockdown, being on furlough, not having time or being able to do Uniko, home schooling and all the rest took its toll on me and this came and has been my outlet of frustration which has led to enjoyment too!

Anyway, enough of my rambling, I didn't intend on 'sharing' so much! I even found some creative time this morning and it was lovely to find enjoyment in joining in on a challenge, something I haven't done for a while...

My card layout is from the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge HERE and seen below. It's been a while since I was inspired and had the time to look through some of my favourite challenge blogs.

I decided to ink up the Christmas Folk Snowflake as I don't feel I have given it much love this festive season!

It's another stencil that I am drawn to inking with red! And is it just me that uses WAY much more ribbon when making Christmas cards than any other time of year?!

Another super simple & quick Christmas make from me today & I think I am almost done with Christmas cards, yay! I am just doing neighbour & local friends cards that I will deliver one evening this week.

Okay, I best go and get these Beans to sleep! Their bedtime during the holidays gets later and later and this mummy is up early!

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Christmas cards or not

Bonjour !

It's Izzy here today with 3 cards using products of the last release. Needless to tell you that Christmas approaching, I make cards to add to my Christmas stash. Nevertheless, I'm quite often inspired by challenges around in blogland.

Lately I had a card to make as a DT for a challenge asking to use torn paper and I made the following card thinking that Uniko was still the sponsor. Here is the card.

I love this big and gorgeous Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake so I used it as the star of the show for this card. I cut one in a blue Vellum paper and another one in white paper that I covered with glitter.

I torned a strip in a white paper that has glittery incrusted and I adhered it to a blue iridescent panel. I foam mounted this panel on the double blue card and I adhered the snowflakes on top. The sentiment from the BIG & BOLD - Snow Clear set is stamped and heat embossed with white puff embossing powder.

For the following two cards, I've been inspired by the Twofer card challenge. They asked us to use holiday greenery, and I thought that the greenery of the Season of Beauty set was perfect to illustrate this challenge and to show the versatility of the Uniko stamps.

First I've made this Christmas card. I die cut a square in a red card stock and I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment on it. I cut a square in Vellum and I adhered the red square on top.

Both squares are adhered on the card. And to finish I coloured the berries with a red metallic gel pen. I love how the gold embossed greenery shine over the black card.

Although exceptionally we were allowed to enter two of the same occasion cards, I opted for a totally different occasion for the second card. This greenery is also beautiful on its own and I found it perfect for a grief card.

I cut a square panel and I stamped the greenery with a very dark grey, then I stamped the sentiment from the Pure Florals - Lily set.

On the double white card I embossed a square slightly bigger than the free panel. I cut a strip of Vellum that I fixed to the back of the panel with adhesive tape. I did the same with a thin black ribbon. To finish I flat adhered this panel over the white card and I glued a little black knot on the ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope this Christmas or not post will help you to use your Uniko supplies for different occasions. Just try and you will see what results !

Have a great crafty week !

CAS Colours & Sketches #302 - Seasonal Sketch

Hey!

Oh my! I am running terribly behind this week on all areas of life :( I'm finally here with my final DT card for CAS Colours & Sketches. It's been a blast being on the DT and I will miss being part of a wonderful team. However, my life is so busy at the moment, something had to give.

Anyway, the countdown to Christmas has begun and over at CAS Colours & Sketches the Design Team are getting into the festive spirit too. This week the challenge HERE is to choose a sketch from 2018 and make it seasonal.

I chose to use the colours from challenge #295 seen HERE and below...

And here is how it festive...

I LOVE snowflakes! With all the talk of the possibility of snow this weekend and having recently purchased The Stamp Market Snowflake Die, I had to put it to use!

I die cut the snowflake from some left over sparkly card (Stampin' Up! I think) and paired it with some heat embossed snowflakes from Background Builders: Christmas and the 'Let it Snow' sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas. For good measure and simply because I love the stuff, I added some Simply White Gloss Nuvo Drops!

There is still time to join in on this last CC&S challenge for 2018 and there is more inspiration from the CC&S Design Team over HERE. Be sure to check out which colour combo they've all chosen to make seasonal :) I look forward to seeing you in the gallery and happy festive CAS card making!

Introducing... Snowflake Serenade Clear Stamps

Hey!

Welcome to Day 3 of the December 2018 Release product introductions.

I am so happy you have decided to pop by again. The countdown to the December Release is in full swing and this is the fun part where you get to see the sneak peeks in action. Be sure to catch up and comment on days 1 & 2 HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. I have a little giveaway each day, see details at the end of the post!

As December is a super busy time for everyone, it is just me doing the product introductions for this release. Though the Uniko DT will be joining me on Release Day for our traditional blog hop :)

Anyway, let's have a look at another new product Snowflake Serenade clear stamp set. This stamp set plays on the wintery side of the season, making it versatile and not just for the Christmas & Holiday period. The clear stamp set features a lovely main large swirling design comprising of snowflakes & holly leaves. There is a trio of sentiments and a trio of accent snowflakes in varying size.

Here's how I have used the stamps for my showcase today...

I've stamped the large swirling design in Encore Silver ink & heat embossed it in Stardust EP for added sparkle. I changed the orientation of the stamp, repeating the above to fill in other sections of my card layer.

I used one of the sentiments from the set & decided to embellish the design with the smallest  die cut snowflake from Designer Dies Snowflake Trio. I've die cut this from a silver shimmer card stock scrap I had in my stash.

Just the one card from me today using this set, I was thrown off track mid week with hubby being involved in a little car accident. He managed to stop his car from hitting the one in front, but was then hit from behind, squishing our car into the one in front. He's fine apart from a gash to his head and a few aches and pains. Though I spent the majority of the afternoon in A&E with him to get him checked over. AND crazily I plan a release for the day after a little family weekend away!!

Anyway, as it is the season of giving, each day of the introductions I will be randomly selecting one lucky comment from either this blog post, the Uniko website blog post, Facebook or Instagram to receive an eGift Certificate code to the value of £10! So be sure to leave a lovely comment ;) Winners will be announced on Tuesday 11th December before the release!

November 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It's time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY - Whoohoo!! For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about...

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!

On non - release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.

Usually I choose a product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn't seen much air time! This month however, I decided to look back at a few products Uniko released in October 2017 HERE.

Specifically the Uniko Designer Dies and NEW Uniko Stencils...

CAS Colours & Sketches #248 - Colours

Hey!

Happy Tuesday and happy November! I can't believe we are into another new month, these days and weeks are flying by so quickly I can hardly keep up!

The weather here in the NE of the UK seems to all of a sudden turned very cold and wintery. I don't mind the cold as long as it isn't raining and cold! Luckily so far its been dry/sunny and cold!

Anyway, back to why you are here!

A new month means a new hostess at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month our hostess is Samantha and she has come up with some wonderful inspiration, including this colour combo HERE and below to start us off...

And here is how I have used the colours...

Greens, not my strongest colour to work with and when I use a green I tend to choose more earthy greens or bright lime greens. So I was a little stumped at first when I saw this combo!

When I get stuck I often turn to Instagram or Pinterest for inspiration and thats what I did. As I don't have these colours in Stampin' Up! ink, (I could have matched close colours) but had them in card stock, I was looking for a design to incorporate card.

I was heavily inspired by Laurie Schmidlin's striped snowflake card on this post HERE. I am drawn to anything with a snowflake on it and even more so when there are stripes involved too!

I trimmed a panel of white card and simply adhered strips of alternating Tranquil Tide and Emerald Envy card, leaving a gap in between. I then die cut the panel using a MFT stitched die.

The snowflake is the medium one from the Uniko Designer Die Snowflake Trio die cut from a silver shimmer CS. I bought this from The Papermill many many moons ago and only have small off cuts left :( The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Poinsettia stamped and embossed in Silver Dollar EP. Both the snowflake & striped panel are adhered to a white card base using half thickness foam adhesive.

That's all from me today & thanks for stopping by, but if you need some more inspiration using the challenge be sure to hop on over HERE to see what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches Design Team have made.

Hugs
