Uniko's Customer Top 10 of 2023 - Number 3

Hello & Happy Friday.

I'm back today with the next Uniko's Customer Top 10 of 2023 - Number 3 and really it is no surprise that this product, Background Blocks Mid Century Modern has made it into the top 3. And when I looked at my website stats, it has actually now made it to the top as Uniko's ALL TIME Best Seller.

I cheated a little with today's card and I am sharing one I made recently for Creative Stamping magazine, issue 129.

For this card I paired the background with Beautiful Blooms III and a sentiment from Everyday Spring Sentiments.

Thanks for joining me again today.

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Linda Walmsley

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the first of the Alumni Feature to celebrate our 10th birthday. If you missed what this month long feature is about, you can catch up HERE on my post introducing it.

Today we are delighted to welcome back the talented Linda Walmsley. Linda joined the team in February 2018, a landmark release when Uniko expanded the product range to include stencils.

Back in February 2020 Linda created this beauty using Kindness Blooms and has chosen this card to CASE for this fun feature.

Linda has kept the same colours and a similar overall pattern design but updated her card using Background Blocks Layered Modern Floral and a sentiment from Birthday Wishes.

How stunningly beautiful is that! I know you're going to be hugely inspired and could CAS(E) it for the Linky Party if you're stuck for an idea.

Huge thanks for dropping by today.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Introducing Alumni CASE Yourself

Welcome to Day 2 of Uniko's 10th Birthday Celebrations 🎉

Today I am introducing a fun feature we have this month here on the blog. If you are a long standing fan and follower of Uniko, you will know that Uniko has been honoured to have so many talented crafters as part of the team over the years.

With it being a milestone birthday I have called upon a few of the Uniko Alumni to join in on the celebrations with a fun feature. They will be appearing here on the blog this month in-between quests up until our traditional countdown to release day. Each of the Alumni have been given the task of choosing a favourite make from their time on the team (a task in itself) and then to CASE it using a newer product.

I couldn't resist joining in the fun myself 😉 so I am kicking things off! So, what card have I chosen to CASE? This for me was the hardest task, but after looking through Uniko's first year I went back to the beginning and decided to CASE one of my very first cards I made using Uniko clear stamps...

Hands up, who remembers Today, Tomorrow & Always Time and Today, Tomorrow & Always Extra Time? These were Uniko's two debuting clear stamp sets in 2012 and I combined them onto this card.

Now here is how I CASE'd myself...

As you can see I pretty much kept the card layout, stamping layout and colours the same. Not my usual colours for a floral card, but I think the loopy florals from Kindness Blooms lend themselves to a non traditional twist like this.

In place of the clocking in card on the original card I knew a Background Block design would be perfect, choosing one of the 22 current designs wasn't easy. Background Blocks Solid Wonky Stripes won in the end!

My question to you is, what Uniko products would you have chosen to CASE my card? I'd love to know and if you decide to make and CASE, I'd love to see 😊

That's all I have to share today and I hope you enjoy this feature this month. If you missed the start of the celebrations, you can catch up HERE

A Little Bit Of Kindness Blooms

 Hello & Happy FriYAY!

It's always a good Friday when a bunch of lovely restocks arrive in the studio 😊 I've said it before, but I'll say it again, it always inspires me to dust these sets off and give them some fresh inky love ❤️  Today I managed to tear myself away from the July Release 😉 and was inspired to ink up Kindness Blooms...

I chose some summery colours to try and coax the sunshine back, but unfortunately it just brought rain today 😔 I used Concord & 9th inks in Buttercup and Honeysuckle, trying my hand at a little watercoloring too for the blooms adhered with foam adhesive.

The sentiment is from Floral Vines, I just love this font. Plus I added some white gloss Nuvo Drops to the flower centres to finish them.

I know a few people are waiting for the Kindness Blooms Designer Dies (and others) to be back in stock. I am hoping to have a small batch ordered at the end of this month 🤞

That's all the cards I managed to make, but here is a little recap on the restocks that have arrived...

Seeing as I have a Bean Free night tonight 👏 I will hopefully be back over the weekend with more creativity to share with you.

Until next time, thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday - BA Inspiration

Good morning folks, Julie here with a little bit of BA Inspiration.

In keeping with my aim to create all my Christmas cards before the end of November, I'm back with some Merry and Bright Christmas inspiration for you.

For my inspiration, I used the latest challenge over at CAS Christmas, where their cue word this month is RAINBOW. Rather than use the larger stamps from our Christmas sets, I used some of the smaller ones and used them in unusual ways in a rainbow theme.

My first card uses the tiny tree from Christmas Pop and stamped it in a rainbow pattern following the line of my die cut snowdrift.

I first cut a snowdrift from some scrap card and traced a line in pencil as a guide for my stamping, then starting roughly in the center and working outwards, I added my rainbow of trees. After stamping the sentiment from Festive Sentiments onto the snowdrift, I glued it onto my card, as simple as that.

My second card is probably my favourite of the three. When I was teaching, many years ago, Rene Magritte was one of the artists that we used as inspiration, especially the paintings where he paints features of the face but without the actual face being there, such as Les Belles Relations and The Paysage de Baucis. The features are in the correct anatomical place so your brain fills in the gaps. This card is a little like that, this time it's Rudolf!

The antlers are from Background Builders:Vines, Winter Additions, the baubles are stamped with the small flower center from Wonderful Day and his nose is the flower center from Kindness Blooms. His eyes were drawn freehand with a black fine liner and his nose was made shiny by the addition of some Glossy Accents. A few hand drawn lines for the strings and the same sentiment from Festive Sentiments completes.

My final card was a little trickier to make and had a bit of a shaky start!

My first attempt ended up in the bin as I managed to get an inky splodge in the bottom corner after I had completed it, this is the second attempt, after an initial dry run on some scrap paper!
I doodled some lines in the rough shape of a tree in pencil before adding the bulbs from Background Builders Christmas 2018. Once the ink was dry, I drew over the pencil lines with a black fine liner then left it again to dry before rubbing away  the pencil lines and coloured the bulbs with my Zig watercolour markers. To give the bulbs more impact, I gave them a coat of Glossy Accents, the same sentiment completes.

Well that's about it from me for the moment. I hope I've inspired you to use those tiny stamps that sometimes get forgotten and to think outside the box when it comes to your cardmaking.

Keep safe out there.

Have You Seen?

Happy Monday.

Today I am sending you some happiness, good health and sunshine wishes your way. I know that all around the world we are struggling to deal with the craziness of everything. Stay strong, listen to your government guidelines and spend some time creating to take your mind off it all.

I thought I would pop by to tell you about a Uniko feature in the newest issue of Die-Cutting Essentials that came out on Thursday.

I am super excited to share a little peek at the feature I did for the magazine using the newest Uniko Designer Dies Kindness Blooms collection. This collection of dies coordinate with the previously released Kindness Blooms clear stamp set and were released last month during our 8th Birthday celebrations.

This is my favourite card I made for the feature. One because it was super fun to make and two it shows most of the dies in the collection AND it also shows how the tiniest die in the collection can be used in a different way to create a fun background.

Yes, I really did use the tiny circle die to die cut all those individual holes in the background! I've also used both the solid flower die combined with the detail loopy flower die combined with the coordinating stamps. All the details and instructions for this card can be found inside the magazine. You can buy the magazine online HERE.

I've not managed to create anything new with this clear stamp set just yet, but I hope to this week if time allows. However, I did receive this beautiful card through the post this past week from a lovely customer, Anne S, who is clearly enjoying combining the stamps and dies.

It makes my day to see customers and friends finding enjoyment and creativity using the products I design. It inspires me to create and gives me new ideas of how to use them! It delighted me even more to receive this prettiness in the mail, which I will display in the studio. Thank you Anne :)

One last thing before I sign off for the day, it's been a long one as I've not been sleeping well these past few days. Like most I am sure with all that is happening and on our minds.

Paper crafting, stamping, die cutting and making hand made cards is a wonderful therapy and distraction to all that is going on. So I thought that whilst Post Offices remain open here in the UK I would give you all a little discount code to use to treat yourself to something from the Uniko store.

Use Code happyspring10 during checkout.

Plus, with receiving the news yesterday that Happy Stampers Festival will not be going ahead at the end of April I have a lot of inventory and I am in need to create some space in the studio!

Thank you in advance for your support and custom. Each and everyone of you is truly appreciated.
Stay safe & well.

Introducing... Designer Dies Kindness Blooms

Hey!

Welcome to Day 3 of the February 2020 & 8th Birthday Release product introductions. If you missed day 1, be sure to catch up HERE and for Day 2, HERE.

Today we are back to introduce a collection of Designer Dies which coordinate with the previously released Kindness Blooms clear stamp set. I know I am biased, but this is such a fun stamp set, the loopy flowers are cute and adding the dies just adds to the possibilities.

How about we get to the inspiration!

Wiebke

WOW! That was one inspirational hop. You have got to LOVE the fun you can have with this stamp set combined with these new coordinating dies & my Brand Ambassadors certainly showed this.

I hope you enjoyed the hop & left some comment love along the way. I will be randomly selecting some comments left on the Introducing hops to win prizes!

Thank you for stopping by today & I hope you will come back tomorrow for more inspiration.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - One layer Christmas card made with non-Christmas stamps

Hi there!

Hannelie here showing a Christmas card made with a floral stamp set... and it's one layer for super easy mailing!

I used a simple triangle mask to create my Christmas tree. Mine was cut with my Silhouette cameo, but you can use a die or even cut a mask with a ruler and craft knife. I blended some light green ink with the mask in place and then started stamping the largest bloom of the Kindness-blooms-clear-stamp-set . I stamped from the bottom up , dark to light, simply overlapping the flowers. I then used the dot from the set to decorate the tree and the flower center for the star on top of the tree. I used the word "JOY" from Festive-sentiments-outlined-clear-stamp-set as the trunk of the Christmas tree. Finally added some glossy accents to the 'baubles' and added tiny dots of gold liquid pearls to the star.

I hope this will inspire you to be creative with your supplies !

Thanks for stopping by today :)
