CAS Colours & Sketches Guest Designer

Hey & Happy Thanksgiving to ALL my friends in the USA & those who celebrate!

I'm back this afternoon with my last Guest Designer card & post for CAS Colours & Sketches, I'mve had so much fun in the studio creating for the challengesand the colours & sketches for November are certainly 'challenging' me to step outside of my comfort zone!

Anyway, this week is sketch week & this super CAS sketch had me stumped for a while but then I had an 'Ah Ha' moment. You can see this weeks sketch & challenge HERE and below...

And this is the result of my 'Ah Ha' moment...

I have been slowly sorting through some old stash that has been stored away in the garage since we moved in February and I came across this cute little Santa that I bought a long long time ago from the Ink Pad in NYC.

He just so happens to fit perfectly inside the film strip frame from Strike A Pose! and so that is what happened! In the other film strip I used a sentiment from the now retired Jolly Christmas clear stamp set.

As you can see I embossed both the film strip frames with stardust embossing powder, fussy cut them out & adhered them to the card using foam adhesive. With all the detail to the centre of the card I added a little corner detail to the white panel before adhering it to my white card base.

Ok, that's all from me just now, but be sure to head on over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE to see the Design Team's fabulous samples & I hope to see you in the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday TIME OUT Challenges!

Hey!

Can you believe TIME OUT Challenges is celebrating its first birthday?! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIME OUT :)

This fortnight we are celebrating with a Home Sweet Home challenge, inspired by this photo seen below...

This is how I was inspired...

As you can see I was inspired by the colours and the frames. I decided to use the filmstrip from Strike A Pose! for my frame and used Simply Said Birthday sentiments.

Speaking of Home Sweet Home, we moved into our new sweet home last week, hence the blog-a-roo and everything being so quiet. Plus the majority of my craft supplies and life in general is in boxes! I think we will be living from boxes for a few weeks, as it's not easy unpacking with two not so little beans keeping me busy.

My not so little beans turned 6 months old this week, this is them in their new high chairs...

Lattice, Frames & Florals

Hey!

As I said yesterday I had some time to 'play' and made a few cards to share with you this week. Todays card uses a lovely combination of stamps, even if I do say so myself!

This is a mini 10.5 x 10.5 m card. I started by marking the centre with a faint pencil mark both vertically and horizontally in order to stamp the single lattice design all over the base card using grey ink. I started stamping them starting in the centre and working my way outwards in all directions. After rubbing out the pencil lines I coloured the centre lattice image.

I used my square dies to create a mini frame and accented it with a trio of ditsy florals from Background Builders: Vines and a couple of leaves from Natures Treasures I.

That's all for today, but I will be back again tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Supplies
Card Stock: White (Boyes)
Ink: SU! Going Grey. PTI Spring Moss and Raspberry Fizz
Accessories: Sizzix Framelits Square Dies, Foam Adhesive & Spica At You Pen.

Just For You...

Hey!

Seriously the days seem to be flying by here at Uniko Studio HQ. Currently my days are filled with fulfilling orders, designing & organising myself for the rest of 2014 plus LOTS of tidying, sorting, clearing out & organising in the house. I don't think I have ever been so organised! I'm doing ALL the things I know I won't be able to do, firstly before all I can do is waddle & secondly before the twins arrive! Lol!

Anyway, I took a little time to craft last night & whipped up this card...

As I've said before every month I treat myself to a few goodies from the Stampin' Up! catalogue. When I saw the Sizzix Sqaure Framelits Die Collection they bumped a few things down the list as I had to have them! Inspired by all the flowers in the garden as I look out the window, I decided to use my new square dies to create a polaroid frame.

I started out with a rectangle of Papertrey Ink Bitty Dot Basics designer paper in Soft Stone measuring 8.5 x 11 cm. Then using one of the square dies I die cut the inner frame, finishing the polaroid off by rounding the corners. I placed the frame on my base card & lightly drew round the inner frame so I knew where to stamp the stem & leaves from Flower Power #2. The sentiment stamped on the frame is from A Gift For You & I finished the frame off by wrapping some embroidery floss around it & tying it in a bow. This is adhered to the card using foam adhesive as is the fussy cut flower from Flower Power #1.

Ok, that's all from me today, I've some more sorting & organising to do! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by :)

I Just Wanted to Say ...

Thank You!

It's only been 3 weeks and already I feel LOVED! The blog here has reached 50 followers and Facebook 44 so I wanted to say THANK YOU to all that are following me, commenting & enjoying what Uniko Studio has to offer!

I'd LOVE more followers and for you all to keep spreading the word about Uniko Studio! But for now I am happy and I will tell you a lil bit about the card I have made today.

This is a cute little 4 1/4" square card. I used Soft Stone (PTI) CS which is a great neutral. It's not too grey and not too white so it's just right! LOL! I stamped the 3 circles image onto the base card using Versamark ink which gives a lovely subtle background detail. You can just about see this on the lower left of the card in the photo.

I then stamped the clock face from the Time set in Black Memento Ink and used my Copics to colour it in. I just did simple one colour colouring with no blending but just alternated the colours in the clock face. The clock face is simply cut out by hand and layer onto a 1 3/4" circle punched from Hawaiian Shores (PTI) CS.

I then used a frame paper punch from Fiskars {I think} and punched one from white & one from Basic Grey CS. To get the white frame inside the grey frame I simply cut each of the punched pieces in half and layered the white frame just inside the grey frame. I then used double sided tape to adhere the clock face  to both sides of the frame.

The whole piece is then mounted onto the card base using foam pads & then I stamped the sentiment below in Memento Black ink. Simple, but effective and another way to stretch your paper punches a lil further if they aren't quite big enough!

I hope you have enjoyed todays card and you are inspired to have a play with paper punches & stretch them a lil further!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check back tomorrow to see who the winner is of the stamp set from the blinkie giveaway!
