Super FREE Saturday & Uniko Studio Challenge #10

Hey & Happy Weekend!

It's been quite a while since I last launched a Super FREE Saturday collection, but today sees the next collection available for download for FREE from the Uniko Studio website HERE

I had a little brainwave whilst designing this collection and decided it would be fun to coordinate the collection with the current Uniko Studio Challenge #10 HERE. This will make is super easy for everyone to join in on the challenge.

How about a look at the collection...

As you can see I've kept it really simple, it is a printable JPG available in A4 and US letter size. It features all the colours and the theme for this months Uniko Studio Challenge HERE.

Now I've created a couple of cards to show you it in use...

This first  card is SO simple, in Photoshop I used my marque tool to select the circle image and pasted it into a separate document and then I simply printed the document and trimmed it to size and mounted it onto a lilac card base.  Below is a close up of the image...

For my next card I used one of the journal cards...

For this card I printed the A4 sheet of designs & fussy cut out the journal card I wished to use. I also trimmed the Thinking Of You sentiment. The current Freshly Made Sketch layout seen HERE and below lent itself perfectly for this card.

Below is a close up of the detail...

I'd LOVE you to download the collection and join in on the challenge, don't forget the winner of the challenge gets a £10 Gift Certificate to spend in store and a Guest Design spot on the blog!

I hope you've enjoyed today's cards and like this new SFS collection :) That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Super FREE Saturday!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

I can't believe that today is the last day of November and it is also Super Free Saturday here at Uniko Studio. I've been a bit sporadic this year with the Super Free Saturdays this year and it is on my New Years Resolution list to get them as regular as clock work for 2014!

Anyway, let's have a look at this months freebie...

It's called Peace * Love * Joy and is trio of circular labels with a mini poinsettia inside them. They come in a mini PNG file which is available for download HERE on the website.

I had ideas galore in which to use these little labels, but time flew away from me and I only managed to whip up this trio of cards which are inspired by THIS snowflake card made by Maile Belles.

I simply printed off the file with the 3 labels and fussy cut them out. I then used my At You Spica Pens to colour the poinsettia in and the rim of the label. This is then layered onto the largest Designer Die Snowflake and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. The medium and small snowflake die cuts are adhered flat to the card. Below is a close up of the detail, it doesn't  show how sparkly the poinsettia is though in the photo but it is there in real life.

After making this one I went on to make two more with the same colours but switching them around....

I can't decide which colour version I like the best! I do hope you will pop over to the website HERE & download the file. I'd LOVE to see too what you make using them and you can link your project up HERE into the current challenge too, email entries are welcome too just email me a photo of your project & I'll upload your entry.

While your over on the website why not check out the Black Friday & Cyber Monday Bargains! They end on Monday midnight GMT and they're being snapped up and you wouldn't want to miss out.

Ok, that's all from me today I will be back tomorrow with my Countdown to Christmas advent, where I will be sharing an ideas & quick projects to hopefully inspire you a bit more with your Christmas & Holiday preparations. Until then , thank you for stopping by today :)

Super FREE Saturday - Funky Florals

Hey!

Welcome to another Super FREE Saturday here at Uniko Studio. This month brings you a super trendy digital print out collection featuring funky florals in some yummy Stampin' Up! colours, check it out...

This Super FREE Saturday collection can be downloaded for FREE via the Uniko Studio website HERE. Simply register on the website if you haven't already and download the file - easy!

How about a couple of projects using the collection...

For my first card I used one of the journalling cards and stamped a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #1 and Time. I printed an extra journalling card so I could fussy cut the flower out and adhere it using foam adhesive.

Before I adhered the journalling card to the SU! Strawberry Slush mat layer I stamped same said layer with the small polka dots from Background Builders: Round In Circles using white pigment ink.

For my next card using the freebie I decided to use the current Uniko Studio Challenge sketch seen HERE and below...

I used a 1 3/4" circle punch to cut out the round label from the collection and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Label Love: Birthday before mounting it onto a die cut.

The friend sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments #3 and I stamped it before I adhered the white panels to the base card using foam adhesive. I printed & fussy cut a couple of the flowers which appear on the red journalling card to finish the sketch layout.

Why not have a go & use the freebie to create a card & enter it into the Uniko Studio Challenge #2?

A few of the Design Team have created projects using the collection too, links to their blogs are below...

I hope you enjoy the freebie! Thanks for stopping by today :)

Super FREE Saturday - "Hello" Speech Cloud

Hey!

Welcome to another Super FREE Saturday here at Uniko Studio. This month brings you a super trendy digital collection featuring speech clouds, lots of "hello's" and a modern floral digital patterned paper, check it out...

This Super FREE Saturday collection can be downloaded for FREE via the Uniko Studio website HERE. Simply register on the website if you haven't already and download the file - easy!

How about a couple of projects using the collection...

For my first card I used one of the cloud speech bubbles, digitally stamping it in a turquoise colour and then sizing one of the "hello" sentiments to fit inside, I then printed it & cut it out. I decided to pair it with Background Builders: Chevrons and the friend sentiment from Time.

Keeping with the "Hello" theme I made a second card using the digital patterned paper in the collection & simply printed and die cut a couple of BRIGHT Butterflies, the sentiment is again from Time.

For my last card using the collection I decided to change the theme to make a simple birthday card...

I started out by creating a document 13.5cm x 10cm in Photoshop and place the digital paper into my document & resizing it slightly & moving it down to a small section. (Note, I printed all the pieces for each card onto one A4 sheet of 160gsm paper). I then printed the document and trimmed it to size before stamping my sentiment from Flower Power #2. I fussy cut two flowers from the paper and adhered them using glue dots for a slight bit of dimension and added some bling to finish.

That's all the projects I have to share today using the collection. If you download the collection and use it I'd LOVE to see your projects, why not upload them to the Uniko Studio Flickr Group HERE or send me a link to your project on your blog or you can even email me a photo!

You could also enter your card / project HERE in the Uniko Studio Challenge as the theme of this collection fits in perfectly with the challenge theme!

A few of the Design Team have created projects using the collection, links to their blogs are below...

I hope you enjoy the freebie! Thanks for stopping by today :)

Take Care

Happy Friday!

The weekend is nearly here and it's a holiday weekend here in the UK and dare I speak to soon, but it's set to be the hottest of the year so far which isn't hard to beat! I'm looking forward to an extra day with my hunny & hopefully some sunshine!

Anyway, I've a super CAS card to share today...

I noticed that the new CASology challenge code word HERE this week is care and so thought of the Take Care sentiment from Flower Power #1. I went on a bike ride yesterday evening to meet my guy after he finished work. The sun was out & still quite warm and I saw my first butterfly of the year which reminded me that I hadn't used my BRIGHT Butterflies dies for some time.

The patterned paper is a left over piece from the Eclectic Mix Summer Digital Patterned Paper Collection. I've got plenty of paper scraps and this card layout is perfect for using such left overs.

That's all from me today, thank you for stopping by.

Just a note...

Happy Friday!

Popping in real quick for a graphic style floral 'Just a note' card today...

I've had this card sketched out for a while now a found time yesterday to make it. Sorry to have more Chrysanthemums again, but they seem to be my go to set at the moment!

Flowers is the current Addicted to CAS challenge theme seen HERE, so I thought I'd link up to that challenge.

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Hope you all have a lovely day & YAY! for the weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hybrid Chrysanthemums

Hey!

I'm back today with a card to share that I've made using the current CAS(E) this Sketch! I had this card idea in my head as soon as I saw the sketch and had to find a little creative time to make it...

The sketch seen HERE and below certainly got my creative juices flowing & I can see me coming back to this one!

My card is almost a one layer card, but I decided to mat the main layer with some SU! Summer Sun CS I had left in my stash. I think it helps frame the focus of the card...

I thought I'd put together a photo tutorial of how I created this card too, I'd have done a video tutorial but I am not very good at those... YET!

I'm working in Photoshop CS5, most Photoshop & Photoshop Elements packages have similar menus.

Step 1 - Create a new document the size of your card panel. Mine is 10 cm x 13.5 cm

File - New - Custom - Enter dimensions - OK

Step 2 - Create a second new document the size that you want your patterned paper strips to be. Mine are 1cm x 5cm

File - New - Custom - Enter dimensions - OK

Step 3 - Open the digital patterned paper files you want to use. I chose a patterned paper design from Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum Digital Patterned Paper Collection.

File - Open - Locate Saved Digital Download - Open

Step 4 - As the canvas size of my card is a quarter of the size of the digital patterned paper I decided I needed to shrink the paper so that more of the design would be seen on each of the coloured/patterned strips.

Image - Image Size - Enter Dimensions - OK

Step 5 - Creating the strips.

Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool select the top left area of the paper big enough to fit inside the second document in step 2

You now want to copy this section of the paper to paste into the second document.

Edit - Copy

Step 6 - Go to document 2 (I named mine strip size) and paste the paper into the document.

Edit - Paste

Step 7 - Before we can copy & paste this paper strip into our first document in Step 1 it needs to be flattened so it is just one layer.

Layer - Flatten Image - Edit - Copy

Step 8 - Paste patterned strip into document 1

Roughly move & place the strip where you want it to be. You can play with placement & spacing once you've all you strips on the document.

Step 9 - You could repeat Steps 3 - 8 with each of the 4 other colours of patterned paper.

However, I took it one step further and made the process a little more time consuming! I wanted the pattern across all the strips to match as they went across the card front which you can see in my close up photo above.

How I did this... Step 3 - 6 are the same as above. In Step 7 before I flattened my image to copy and paste into the main document I moved the paper to the left by 1cm

Step 10 - Repeat Step 7 & 8

Step 11 - Repeat Step 9 but for the 3rd colour/patterned strip you'll need to move it across to the left by 2cm and by an extra cm for each strip until you've five strips in your document. Which should look like this...

Step 12 - Adding the sentiment. Use the Type tool (T) to do this. Select & change Font & Font Size as required.

The font I used is Disco 18pt.

Step 13 - Print document, trim to desired size

Step 14 - Stamp 'Hello' sentiment & adhere mat layer to card base

Ta Dah!

I hope you found the photo tutorial useful?! If not I'm sorry, but I hope you liked my card :) That's all from me today - phew I hear you say after all those photos! Haha!

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & thank you for stopping by.

April 2013 Release & Reveal!

YAY!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by as today is the day I get to show you all the NEW products that are now available to buy HERE at Uniko Studio!

Let's get to it! In order of Sneak Peek & Introducing... first up is the NEW Designer Dies - BRIGHT Butterflies...

Designer Dies: BRIGHT Butterflies £5.00
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

These dies are sold separately to the clear stamps. The dies come joined together and as Aimes demonstrated HERE earlier in the week it's fun to use them joined together before making them individual dies. I used a metal file to file the sharp edges once they were separated.

Next up is All Occasion Sentiments #1...

All Occasion Sentiments #1 £4.95
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

All Occasion Sentiments #1 is the first in a series of clear stamp sets coming here at Uniko Studio. The set features 'mega-sized' sentiments in fabulous & trendy fonts perfect for providing the focal point for your projects. Suitable for card makers & scrapbookers alike!

Next I have a new digital patterned paper collection to unveil...

Basics On The Grid Digital Patterned Paper Collection #1 £1.50
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

Basics On The Grid Digital Patterned Paper Collection features 6 grid designs in 5 fabulous & popular Stampin' Up! colours, the 2011-2013 In Colours to be exact!

How about another couple of clear stamp set reveals...

Flower Power #1 £4.95
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

Flower Power #1 is a smaller sized clear stamp set & the first in a series of 'graphic' floral & themed sentiment stamp sets! The set features a 2 step stamping graphic flower & thoughtful sentiments in a fabulous modern font!

Next we have...

Background Builders: Round In Circles £9.95
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

Background Builders: Round In Circles features a variety of circles & polka dots with a modern yet retro twist to suit all styles of paper crafter! Though this set is smaller in size and price of the previously released Background Builders: Lattice clear stamp set, it still packs a punch, containing 9 stamps! I've also kept the builder strip stamps as long as possible to make stamping a background easy :)

A fun feature to the set is that the small polka dot strips (3rd from right & last on right) can be 2 step stamped as Taheerah our April Guest Designer demonstrated HERE!

I had so much fun designing this clear stamp set that I went and designed a complimentary digital patterned paper collection...

Round In Circles Digital Patterned Paper Collection #1 £1.50
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

This digital patterned paper collection features elements inspired by the clear stamp set in 5 Stampin' Up! colours. It contains both 'feature' design papers & complimentary papers with a total of 6 designs seen in the product picture above.

Did I save the best clear stamp set for last? Quite possibly, though I am biased! The next Pure Floral set...

Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum £15.95
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

Much like the previously released Pure Florals: Gerbera clear stamp set, Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum features both solid and linear stamps, not only providing a 2 step stamping but also suiting crafters who like to colour and those who don't! A few mix & match sentiment options in another gorgeous font tops this set off!

This set also has a complimentary digital patterned paper collection, which brings me to revealing the final product of the April Release...

Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum Digital Patterned Paper Collection #1 £3.00
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012/13

This digital patterned paper collection features elements inspired by the clear stamp set in 6 Stampin' Up! colours. It contains both 'feature' design papers & complimentary papers with a total of 3 designs  in 6 colour ways.

Now that I've revealed all the products in full which are ALL available to purchase HERE, how about a few projects using some of the NEW products...

My first card uses the same colour combo as yesterdays card HERE, which are the current 'Less is More' challenge colours HERE. This time I opted for a more masculine graphic card using Background Builders: Round In Circles & the 'Hello' sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #1.

Stamping on an angle adds interest to a card, I stamped the background in one direction and stamped the sentiment in the opposite to balance the card.

I had more fun with angles on this next card...

I started out by masking off a section of the base card at an angle, I then stamped the solid & liner graphic flowers from Flower Power #1 in SU! Pool Party & Ruby Red which was inspired by the current Dynamic Duos challenge colours HERE & seen below. The sentiment 'Hello Friend' is from the Time stamp set, which makes this card perfect for the current Addicted to CAS challenge too HERE, their current code word being Friend.

I'm a big fan of aqua & red and so I had to ink up my Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum stamps to make this card in the same colour combination...

I used the large linear flower for the stamped background & paired it with the Congratulations sentiment also from the set.

That's all from me today, but I know my amazing & talented Design Team & Guest Designer Taheerah have some FAB projects to share with you...
