I couldn't let the day pass without popping by to wish you all a happy, healthy & wonderful 2023. I hope it brings you all you desire. 

Did you have a good festive season?

I really enjoyed some downtime with the family and time away from the studio. So much so that I actually had to clear the decks before I could make anything. It actually felt good to give it a good tidy and put things back where they should be!

I felt a little rusty getting inky and other than being inspired by the fireworks last night, plus the Pantone Colour of 2023, Viva Magenta I totally just went with the flow with my card.

I used the Stencil - Party Confetti inked with Concord & 9th Honeysuckle. I then stamped the 'happy' from Festive Sentiments and the New Year from Christmas Sentiments. I then added a trio of bursts from Mid Century Modern Florals.

A little busier than my usual clean and simple style, but I am hoping to venture outside of my comfort zones more this year. And not just when it comes to creating. There are so many wonderful things coming this year following a few doors I opened at the end of the year.

To start though is the first NEW RELEASE of 2023!! 

Let's just say, if you love the Mid Century Modern Collection, then you're going to love it. Sneak Peeks are coming on Monday 9th January and the NEW products will be available on Friday 13th January. Keep an eye out on social media, as some little sneaky peeks might just pop up.

DT Inspiration - Stencils and patterned papers

Hello, Wiebke here with a brand new stencil-project for you!

 

Like most of us, I have kind of a "comfort zone" when I create my cards. I use similar materials - most of the time I'm crafting with stamps and stencils, inks and markers and some embellishments.
And sometimes I almost forget there are also other ways to craft...!

A while ago, I recieved a card, made with a mix of patterned papers combined with punched elements, embossing paste, stamping and sewing! Not my own usual style of crafting - but so beautiful! 

So this other card inspired me for my current card!
I tried this new-to-me technique mix and show you the result!

 

I grabbed some patterned papers, cut them in pieces, adhered them onto a thin paper and went to my sewing machine to sew them all together with two different stitching-lines.
The next step was to add three different embossing pastes on the paper. One is an opaque white glossy paste, one a less opaque matte white paste and one a mix of a golden colour and the matte paste. 

I moved both stencils - the Party Confetti Stencil and the Bright Butterflies Stencil - around to get exact the shapes I planned on the different areas. I wanted many of the small hearts! 💕
So it was important to let one paste dry before moving the stencil and start adding the next one to avoid smearing them around!

In the center I kept a free area to add the sentiment "You are Amazing" of the new You are, yes you Stamp Set with white embossing powder (fitting to the glossy white paste).

After everything was finished, I cut the layer down to my card size and adhered it with a strong adhesive tape.
Cause there are so many different materials which give enough interest, I think it's not necessary to add some extra embellishments to a card like this one.

February 2018 & Uniko's 6th Birthday Release Sneak Peeks Day 1

WhooHoo!

Yep, that's right the time has come to start the countdown to February 2018 & Uniko's 6th Birthday Release! Hopefully you have enjoyed the 6th Birthday Celebrations so far with the Treasure Hunt and the current Birthday Linky Party, there is still time to join in on this HERE.

Anyway, how about some peeks at the new products available on the 28th. Todays 3 peeks are all birthday/celebration themed, but I am sure they will have uses for other occasions too!

First up is a peek at a sentiment clear stamp set. If you LOVE Festive Sentiments, which was released back in October 2017, then I think you may just LOVE this too ;)

Next is another addition to the Background Blocks series and a stamp that is sure to breathe new life into some older Uniko clear stamp sets! 

Lastly, I am sharing a peek at one of the 5 new Uniko Stencils...
