TIME OUT Challenges - Home Sweet Home

Hey!

How on earth did we get to Thursday?! The days are just zooming by for me at the moment as I juggle work and life in general. Plus the beans are keeping me on my toes as Josh has finally learnt to crawl and is into EVERYTHING! Ben isn't crawling, but he can sure get where he wants to. Hence my lateness with todays post.

I'm here to share with you my card for the new challenge starting today at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight it is a Home Sweet Home challenge inspired by this photo...

I had so many ideas initially when I first saw this photo, but when it came to making the card none of my ideas worked, but this is how I was inspired...

I started by using the main colours in the photo and 'trying' to replicate the tile effect using  a couple of the small stamps from Background Builders: Chevrons. The 'Hello' is from All Occasion Sentiments #1.

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Sue, be sure to stop by Sue's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back again later in the week with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Still time to play over @ TIME OUT Challenges!

Hey!

Ahhh, the sun is out once again & what a gorgeous day, it makes such a difference and it has certainly got my creativity flowing :)

I made this card this afternoon combining the inspiration photo over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE and below and the new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches HERE and seen below.

Once again I was inspired by the aqua stripes on the wall and this time the chevrons on one of the cushions and the floral damask pattern on another, which I substituted for a Beautiful Bloom & leaf!

My back is much better today and I'm feeling good :) Hubby & I are off out to the movies this evening to watch Hercules. Anyway, I had best get on, I'll be back tomorrow with another card to share. So until then, thank you for stopping by today.

A Colourful Thank You

Hey!

Seriously where are the seconds, minutes, hours and days going?! Time is flying by here at the moment, but I did manage to squeeze in a little crafty time to make this one layer colourful thank you card...

I used the new ColorQ challenge colours seen HERE and below which are a beautiful combination and a combination I wouldn't have selected myself.

I needed to make this thank you card for a friend I am meeting up with tomorrow as they were beyond kind and let Karl and I stay in their flat on our recent trip to London. My friend loves  geometric patterns and florals and decided to combine the two.

Another short & sweet post from me today, it's nearly tea time and I had better muster some energy to get the tea cooking so hubby has something to eat when he gets in! I'll be back again tomorrow with the next TIME OUT Challenge information, be sure to stop by then for all the details. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Simply leave a comment on this post to win & I will randomly select 3 winners on Friday 4th April at 9am GMT & announce them here on the blog.

Now the giveaway on Facebook is different, so you might want to head on over HERE to see what it is!

Ok, that's all from me today, but I WILL be back tomorrow with a new project to share :) Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Cure for the Monday Blues - Pattern Tastic!

Hey!

I think I'm back in the creative groove, it's been a while since I dedicated a block of a few hours to sit and create and I've missed it! I've been working hard creating samples to share with you for the ever approaching February Release and also creating projects for the two classes on Saturday at The Paperlane. There is one space left in each class see the Classes & Demo page HERE for the details.

Anyway, I found a little time to squeeze in a card for the newest challenge in town called Cure for the Monday Blues & hosted by the awesomely talented & very creative DT member Taheerah. Be sure to stop by Taheerah's BLOG for all the details.

This week the inspiration is THIS pattern tastic inspiration photo...

Now I couldn't resist joining in with this one! I instantly reached for my loved but neglected Background Builders: Chevrons set to start this card stamping it repeatedly in black ink onto a rectangle of white CS. I then used my Spica at you pens to add a splash of colour.

Before adhering the rectangle on an angle to the base card I stamped the base card with the grunge circles from Background Builders: Round In Circles and added a die cut star stamped with a sneaky peek of a new set coming your way very soon!

Ok, that's all from me today, there is much inking & stamping to be done! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today :)

Straight to it!

Hey!

How are we all today? I hope your week has got off to a good start. So, I was still rather jet lagged yesterday due to only 3 hrs sleep, so much for me thinking I was nearly over it, my body clock was still on Vegas time, last night was better so it must be somewhere over the Atlantic now! Lol!

Anyway, I kept myself VERY busy yesterday and even found time to stamp to make this card...

I decided to make another masculine card to add to the small stash I have, I've been neglecting the men when it comes to card making! Easily done as feminine cards are SO much easier to make with all the lovely floral supplies available these days.

For this card I used one of the arrows from Accent Essentials: Arrows and paired it with one of the tiny chevron stamps from Wonderful Washi - Christmas. I inked one side of the chevron in Pumpkin Pie & the other in Real Red, inspired by the colours on one of the trees outside the studio. I did the same for the sentiment which is a mix of All Occasion Sentiments #2 and FONTiments - Birthday. The stamped panel is adhered to the base card with foam adhesive for a little dimension.

That's all from me today, I've some reordering of dies to do today & finalise some new die designs, plus some stamp designing to do, so many ideas that I need to bring to life!

Have a great day & thank you for stopping by :)

Design Team Inspiration - Chevrons

Hey everyone! It's Nicki here from the design team, and I have a fun card to share with you today!

One of my favorite Uniko Studio stamp sets is Background Builders: Chevrons. I decided to use it as the main focus on this card.

I first cut a piece of white cardstock for the main panel. Then, using the smaller double chevron stamp from the set, created a pattern using 5 different color inks. Once that was done, I diecut the butterfly from the panel.

For the sentiment, I used the "Thank" from the Pure Florals: Gerbera set. Since I wanted it to say "Thanks", I inked up the last "s" from the "Happiness" stamp from the same set, and added it to the end of "Thank", which is stamped on the Baja Breeze cardstock and adhered to the back of the cardstock panel. A couple pearls give it a special touch.

The panel is adhered with foam tape for dimension. Using a scoring board, I also added a subtle frame on the cardstock base. What a FUN CAS card! I hope you all like it! :) THANKS for stopping by for a visit today!

Sending Hugs

Hey!

I'm back with another scheduled post and another floral card to share with you...

I started out by masking off a small section on a white mat layer and stamped some chevrons in black ink. I then stamped the blooms and leaves from Beautiful Blooms onto white CS and fussy cut them out. Before I adhered them permanently I positioned them with temporary adhesive so that I could make sure there was enough room & position the sentiment from Flower Power #1.

That's all from me today, be sure to pop back tomorrow as we have the September Design Team Blog Hop. We will be revisiting not one but THREE stamp sets and as tradition holds they will be up for grabs just by commenting along the hop!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Design Team Inspiration-Inspired by Pinterest.

Hello everybody,

Gayatri here today sharing with you a card I made using a photo from Pinterest as inspiration.
Here is the the inspirational photo.

I was looking for quilt covers to buy and got distracted and started pinning them lol! Ooo, this is perfect inspiration to make a card, Pin it! lol!
Love the chevron background and the gorgeous bold flower cluster on the top. I made a little twist to it to make my card. First here is my card.

The twist here is I have used multi-coloured chevron as on the background and beautiful bold black flower and leaves. The flower and leaves from Beautiful Blooms stamp set is nice modern flower and leaves which is perfect if stamped in black. And the single chevrons from Background Builder: Chevron stamp set is perfect to stamp in various colours. I have used sentiment from Fontiment stamp set. Love the gorgeous curvy yet modern font. I have accented using rhinestones.

Here are the stamp set I have used for this card.

Clean & Simple with a SPLASH of Colour

Hey!

Happy Wednesday, WOW yesterday was a scorcher indeed and it was nice to be in the studio where it was nice & cool! It's a lot cooler today but still a lovely summers day :)

I've a couple of cards to share with you today using a crisp colour combination that CAS - Colours & Sketches Blog HERE and seen below challenged us to use...

I decided to use the colours in a minimalistic way for my first card and I'm pleased how it turned out...

I used Flower Power #2 combined with Natures Treasures I, such a lovely combination that I keep turning to over & over!

I enjoyed the colour & stamp combination that I decided to make another card...

This time I added in some Background Builders: Chevrons for good measure and a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #1. I also used Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card.

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow along with the Uniko Studio Design Team for the non release month clear stamp set revisited blog hop! I'd love you to pop by and hop along with us & as usual the featured set is up for grabs or if you already own it an alternative prize to the same value.

Until tomorrow... thanks for stopping by.

HAPPY Monday...

Hey!

So, my Monday has gotten off to a good start with a number of jobs ticked off my to do list! How about you? I do hope your week has started well. Anyway, how about a little card to brighten your day which ever way your week has started...

I created this a little while ago, it uses a colour scheme quite out of my comfort zone, but I kinda like it! I paired Background Builders: Chevrons with Flower Power #2 and a sentiment from Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum. I love how you can build the stems of the Flower Power series to make taller flowers, it gives them a different look.

Short and sweet today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment on the BIG Design Team Blog Hop HERE to be in the chance of winning a FAB prize! I'll be drawing & announcing the winner tomorrow.

BIG June Release Design Team Blog Hop!

Hey!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by today as it's the BIG June Release Design Team Blog Hop! Back on the 11th June HERE when Uniko Studio released the latest products many of the Design Team members were away on their jollies and so I though it would be nice to have another release day hop so that everyone could join in. This also means that there is another PRIZE up for grabs which will be announced at the end of the post!

All the products release back on the 11th can be viewed HERE and HERE, so I won't bore you with that again instead I'll jump straight to a few projects...

On this first card I have used 3 of the June Release clear stamp sets, Flower Power #2, Background Builders Chevrons & Natures Treasures I. I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below for the position of all the elements and I used the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below for my colour scheme.

I'm pleased with how this card turned out by kind of wished I had added some grey chevrons to the note book page die cut to add a little more interest. Or perhaps have stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the note book page instead of underneath.

My next card today uses another of my favourites from this release (as some of you may know already!)...

Yep, it's Beautiful Blooms! This time I paired the blooms with some white embossed chevrons and a sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday. I used the current Play Date Cafe challenge colours again seen HERE and below as I'm really liking the combo!

In hindsight again I wished I had not added the black leaves to the middle flower which has a good splash of glitter!

I've one more card to share with you all before we get to the hopping! This card is more masculine and uses another 2 of the June Release clear stamp sets...

I combined Accent Essentials: Arrows and the HAPPY from All Occasion Sentiments #2, the birthday sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday. I wasn't completely happy with this card either! Mainly due to the placement of the two arrows on the lower right, they're not quite aligned with the sentiment.

Ok, thats enough from me lets get to the hop! Now, like with all Uniko Studio's Release Day hops there is a PRIZE up for grabs for this hop as it is still technically a Release Day hop! The prize is the ENTIRE June Release (6 stamp sets) or the equivalent if you already own them. I'm also throwing in a few surprises too. All you have to do to be in the chance of winning is to comment along the hop and you have until Mignight July 1st to comment. The winner will be drawn and announced here on the blog on the 2nd July.

Order of the hop incase there is a broken link:

Taheerah

I've one last bit of information before I go and that is to say that it is also Super FREE Saturday today! To see what it's all about and a closer look of the FREEBIE check out this post HERE.
