Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Ren-Yi

Happy Monday!

What an exciting week we have in store. But before we get to the release countdown fun tomorrow, we have our last Alumni joining us today. I am absolutely delighted to have Ren-Yi as our featured Alumni.

Ren-Yi joined Uniko in October 2012, when Uniko expanded the team and ventured more into the digital stamp world and was an integral part of the team along with launching Uniko's Challenges.

Let's have a look at the original card Ren-Yi chose as inspiration, which uses the solid flower from Flower Power #4.

I love this bokeh style of stamping to create an eye catching background. This of which Ren-Yi has created on her stunning new card below.

Ren-Yi created a beautiful watercolour background and used the Background Blocks Scattered Hearts to create the soft bokeh effect along the edge. The focal image is the silhouette from Just Because, stamped and then outlined by hand with a gold marker. Isn't this a beauty.

Thank you so much Ren-Yi for joining us and hopefully it won't be as long till next time!

So, that was our last Alumni CASE Yourself feature this month. I do hope you have enjoyed the feature reminiscing with me and all the old and new inspiration.

I do hope you will stop by tomorrow for a little surprise and our release sneak peeks! Until then, Crafty Hugs

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Carol Mayne

Happy Sunday!

Today we're featuring Alumni Carol Mayne and her amazing cards. And I also remember her for all the supportive and positive comments she always left everyone.

She has CASEd this card from May 2018  using Flower Power #8 for her first share:

And here's her new card using Flower Power #8 again, but this time the stencil version takes centre stage on her slimline card.

Carol has kept the red-to-pink ombre palette in the stencilled flowers and the green of the leaves from her first card appears in the delicate frame around the sentiment.

Inspired and excited by Uniko's 10th birthday Carol has a second card to share. This one was made not so long ago in March 2020 and used Background Builders: Classic for the clipboard stripes, Flower Power #1, Flower Power #2 and Flower Power #6 stamps and the matching dies.

Carol drew inspiration from the pink in the stripes, the kraft of the clipboard holder and the stripes along the sides, which she translated into a pink flower using the Flower Power #1 stencil onto a kraft base and a woodgrain backing panel.

Thank you Carol for your brilliant cards, both old and new.

Coming soon - on Tuesday 22nd we begin the peeks and introductions for the new February birthday release.

So exciting!

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - CASE Myself

This is a second special Birthday-surprise for Bev!

Today it's on me to join into the fun of the CASE myself event on the Uniko Blog!
There's a difference to the other participating crafters - they are all Alumni Team Members who just came back to celebrate the 10th Birthday of Uniko with Bev, the team and all customers...
But I am still an active member! During the next days you will see what I'm talking about... the February Release is coming closer - just a few days left until the Sneak Peek and Introducing Days will start!
😀

Beverley released her very first stencil designs in autumn 2017.
I was so honoured when Bev asked me to join a small team with a focus on stencils! Sure I wanted!
During the years I had some Guest Designer postings, but wasn't a permanent member of any team before!
On February, 17th 2018 Bev introduced our new Stencil Design Team on the Uniko Blog
- Sarah Gray, Julie Beech, Linda Walmsley and me.

But first let's return to the CASE myself event!
Is there anything closer than using my very first contribution I made as fresh team member of the Stencil Design Team and CASE it?
Definitly not!

This is the card I used as CASE inspiration:

K1-907 - fly by balloons

I made three new cards.

For the first one I used the Equalizer block Stencil, The English Country Garden Butterflies Stamps and Dies and a sentiment of the Anniversaire Arts Décoratives set.
Here I've used the layout and the colours of the balloon card. I also took the three different colours of the balloons to the butterflies. The background isn't embossed here, but the front of the butterflies and the sentiment are. The butterflies are adhered one side flat, the other one with a mix of 1 mm and 2 mm dimensional pads.

K1-1561 - Birthday Butterflies

The second one is made with the Honeycomb Pattern Stencil and the Bee happy and Simply Said Blocks II.
Here I've used the layout, but different colours. Again I intensified the colours from top to bottom. The three bees are identical, but (like balloons in the wind) they fly in different directions. The sentiment isn't on a banner this time, but it has a black background like in the original card.

K1-1560 - Bee Wishes

And the third one is in the background like the one before, but I changed the sentiment to one of Floral Vines and the bees to "the one" of Mid Century Modern Florals.
Maybe you can remember, where you have seen these bees before?
If not, hop here or here and you will find my funny special own bee-creations - it's like a second act of CASEing myself.
The little rings and dots give an optical kind of black background for the sentiment, but with a lighter, less bold look.

Stay inspired and be excited, what the Uniko BA-team will show you soon!

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Lindsey Bowe

Hello & Happy Weekend!

It's a wonderful start to the weekend here as today we're featuring Alumni Lindsey Bowe. Do you remember her wonderful clean uncomplicated design style?

Lindsey was again a valued customer of Uniko and then joined the team and really worked her magic with our products.

The first card she's chosen to CAS(E) is from back in February 2016. How beautifully timeless does her use of the 4th birthday limited edition floral look.

And as this stamp is no longer available Lindsey has given her card a 2022 update using our popular Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas.

Fired up by her first card Lindsey has taken the opportunity to CAS(E) another of her BA cards.

This time from not quite so long ago, May of last year, using the In The Forest stencil combined with a greeting from Christmas Sentiments. How stunning is that rainbow blend!

So using the same blend of pastel rainbow colours and machine stitching she has updated her card using Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas.

Huge thanks to Lindsey for sharing her inspiring cards.

How have you been getting on with the first five quests?

If you've completed them all you're half way towards maybe being the big prize winner. But don't worry if you're not quite up to speed, there's still plenty of time to play along.

Huge thanks for dropping by today. Check back tomorrow for the 6th quest

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Sarah Platt

Hello & Happy Thursday.

A warm welcome to today's featured Alumni Sarah Platt. Sarah joined the Uniko team back in December 2014 and showcased Uniko products with beautiful bright colours and worked wonders with geometrics. Honing a unique and recognisable style. I am delighted Sarah is back today sharing her wonderful style and amazing inspiration.

Here's the first card Sarah used to CAS(E) herself, first created back in April 2017. A rainbow of colours using Background Builders Squared and a greeting from the retired All Occasion Sentiments #2.

And here's how it looks updated with teals, blues and greens using a newer addition to the Background Builders range, Delightful Diamonds, and BIG & BOLD Happy.

Next up is Sarah's card from September 2017 using Background Builders Seeing Stars and one of the bright happy colour palettes she always loved to use.

Here's her new version using Background Builders Delightful DiamondsBIG & BOLD Wish and Birthday Sentiments. Looks like her go to 2022 colours are the teals, green and blues.

And one final card from Sarah -  just because she was having so much fun using Background Builders Delightful Diamonds

How creative are all Sarah's cards? I'm sure if you were inspired by them and added a card in the Linky Party the colours would really stand out.

Huge thanks for dropping by today. Check back tomorrow for another amazing prize giveway!!!

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Sandie Munro

Happy Sunday!

Today it's the second of our Alumni features and we're welcoming back Sandie Munro and her classic CAS style. Sandie joined Uniko in November 2014 and was welcomed with open arms as she took on the task of organising and revisioning the Uniko Challenge.

I know you all love her cards and will be as delighted as we are that she's joining in with our 10th birthday celebrations.

First let's take a look at the card she chose to CAS(E) made way back in March 2015. It showcases the beautiful Pure Florals Gerbera stamp set.

The design layout was switched round for her new interpretation using Happy Succulents as the focal image and a greeting from Birthday Sentiments.

How amazing are both cards! Bound to sparkle up your creativity and a real treat for all CAS lovers. We'd love to see your cards, maybe inspired by Sandie, in our Linky Party .

Huge thanks for dropping by today.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Featuring Alumni Linda Walmsley

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the first of the Alumni Feature to celebrate our 10th birthday. If you missed what this month long feature is about, you can catch up HERE on my post introducing it.

Today we are delighted to welcome back the talented Linda Walmsley. Linda joined the team in February 2018, a landmark release when Uniko expanded the product range to include stencils.

Back in February 2020 Linda created this beauty using Kindness Blooms and has chosen this card to CASE for this fun feature.

Linda has kept the same colours and a similar overall pattern design but updated her card using Background Blocks Layered Modern Floral and a sentiment from Birthday Wishes.

How stunningly beautiful is that! I know you're going to be hugely inspired and could CAS(E) it for the Linky Party if you're stuck for an idea.

Huge thanks for dropping by today.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Introducing Alumni CASE Yourself

Welcome to Day 2 of Uniko's 10th Birthday Celebrations 🎉

Today I am introducing a fun feature we have this month here on the blog. If you are a long standing fan and follower of Uniko, you will know that Uniko has been honoured to have so many talented crafters as part of the team over the years.

With it being a milestone birthday I have called upon a few of the Uniko Alumni to join in on the celebrations with a fun feature. They will be appearing here on the blog this month in-between quests up until our traditional countdown to release day. Each of the Alumni have been given the task of choosing a favourite make from their time on the team (a task in itself) and then to CASE it using a newer product.

I couldn't resist joining in the fun myself 😉 so I am kicking things off! So, what card have I chosen to CASE? This for me was the hardest task, but after looking through Uniko's first year I went back to the beginning and decided to CASE one of my very first cards I made using Uniko clear stamps...

Hands up, who remembers Today, Tomorrow & Always Time and Today, Tomorrow & Always Extra Time? These were Uniko's two debuting clear stamp sets in 2012 and I combined them onto this card.

Now here is how I CASE'd myself...

As you can see I pretty much kept the card layout, stamping layout and colours the same. Not my usual colours for a floral card, but I think the loopy florals from Kindness Blooms lend themselves to a non traditional twist like this.

In place of the clocking in card on the original card I knew a Background Block design would be perfect, choosing one of the 22 current designs wasn't easy. Background Blocks Solid Wonky Stripes won in the end!

My question to you is, what Uniko products would you have chosen to CASE my card? I'd love to know and if you decide to make and CASE, I'd love to see 😊

That's all I have to share today and I hope you enjoy this feature this month. If you missed the start of the celebrations, you can catch up HERE
