Brand Ambassador Inspiration, Spring Botanicals- Tulip

Good morning, how was your weekend? Mine was not what I had anticipated as a workshop I was helping at got cancelled at the last minute, so I had some time to play in my own craftroom!
Here's what I made, specifically for an old work collegue who loves red flowers!

Just before Christmas Bev used a Waffle Flower die set to create this card and so I was inspired to make this one using the same die and Spring Botanicals - Tulip.

On a panel of Mixed Media paper, I used the stencil from the die set to plan my placement of the tulips, sketching in the open areas lightly with a pencil. Next, I stamped using some masking, a bunch of Uniko's Spring Botanicals- Tulips with Memento Toffee Crunch.

Watercolours were used to paint the blooms and I was about to cut the Postage Stamp panel when I realised I'd had the stencil the wrong way around and my planned design wouldn't work!
So with a little bit of thought, I decided to cut the panel anyway and see what I got. Instead of placing my panel face down, I placed the wrong side face down into the die panel. I had initially intended to cut out each of the panels along the stitched lines and place them on a new die cut panel, but now couldn't do that but with the help of an old fashioned embossing tool and a foam mat, I sort of rescued it with some manual embossing!
To cover where the masking hadn't worked I inked through the stencil with some Mustard Seed DI, then stamped a few bits in Toffee Crunch at strategic places.
I'd purposefully left the small rectangle in the bottom right clear so that I could stamp my sentiment, Doodle Flowers in more Toffee Crunch.

The die cut panel was mounted on some black card and then onto a trimmed down 5 x 7inch white card base. The black serves to hi-light the die cut as well as masking the different white of the MM paper. I love using MM for watercolouring, but getting a base card to match is tricky. This little trick is just enough to fool your eye!

So that's about it from me for today, crafty hugs

Good News!

Happy Wonderful Wednesday.

I'm back today with good news and a card.

So before I get to my card, how about the news. You might have seen on the website, or the post I shared on social media the day after release. My sincere and HUGE thanks to you all for the overwhelming love, comments, support and record amount of orders, that I have (apart from the backorders) now completed and posted. That all but two of the products sold out.

I know a few missed out on ordering, which shows with the backorders that are already stacking up, thank you!

The good news is, you don't have to wait long for the restocks to arrive. They are due in the studio Thursday 17th August along with a few other restocks. I will share here on the blog, social media and via our newsletter to announce their arrival. Backorders will be my priority as soon as they land in the studio.

Now onto my card...

If you saw my release day Facebook Live or caught the replay HERE. You might recognise the bauble on this card. I demonstrated my reverse masking technique with Mid Century Modern Baubles and then I used the Stencil - MOD Background Builder to add the detail.

I decided my base card needed a little pattern too, which for a clean & simple card maker is quite unusual! I was looking through my stamps and felt I have neglected so many of them that I am going to try my best to give some older clear stamps some love and pair them with the new release.

One of the clear stamp sets I've neglected is Background Builders Classics. So I used the stripes to create my own simple tone on tone plaid. I finished off with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas (back in stock next week) and some enamel dots.

I think that's all I have to share today. Once again, thank you for making this an amazing release.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Focus on Happy!

Hello there!

Sarah here with a Brand Ambassador Inspiration post for you.
I've been MIA for the last few months due to a complete lack of crafting mojo ... I'd love to know how you fellow crafters cope with these situations. For me it's been a long spell of short bursts in my craft room and a bin full of rejects!
In the end I treated myself to a couple of new goodies and that seems to have spurred me on a little, especially in the Christmas card department but more of that in a few weeks!
Anyway on to my cards for today and I suppose I inspired myself using the card I created for our current Anything Goes challenge, which can find it HERE It was a really quick card to create (which we all love) and the cheery colours always make me smile.

Instead of using the Background Block: Equaliser, which I used for the challenge card I inked up the Background Builders Classics set. I've hardly used this one but it's full of interesting patterned and plain stripes so I need to ink this up again soon.

I used Altenew Inks throughout and simply kept the stamp in place in the Misti whilst moving my cardstock slightly upwards / downwards before stamping. The same technique with the BIG 'Happy' sentiment, from the 'All Occasion Sentiments' range and is sadly now retired. The white-embossed 'birthday' is from the Art Decoratifs Anniversaire set and to finish I popped the die-cut sentiment panel up on fun foam then added some coordinating enamel dots.

Below are a few more examples ... exactly the same stamps and process but different colour-ways. They were quick and easy to make and always good to have in stock.

Thanks for calling by and I hope you've enjoyed this little inspiration post and fingers crossed I'll be back soon.

Have a fun day!

Swipe and Stamp - Brand Ambassador Inspiration.

Hello friends, Rahmat here with my inspiration today.

I have a simple one layer card with a fun technique.

Do watch the video for this quick card.

I have used 3 different sets from Uniko for this card, it's a very simple technique where you just swipe the ink pad on the stamp and stamp it. I haven't used Misti her, I have used a ruler to stamp, but yes you can use any stamping tool for this technique.

Supplies used:

Background Builders - Classic

Natures Treasures stamp

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind feedback. Have a great day!

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Wonderful Day

Bonjour !

Izzy here with some inspirational cards made with the Wonderful Day stamp set.

As you already know, this month is the Uniko's 8th Birthday, so to go on with the celebration, I made my first card a birthday card.

On a white double card, I made a strip on the left edge by stamping the foliage of the set in two shades of green. Then I used the Background Builders Classics set to make the black stripe.
I masked these strips and I aleatory stamped the different stamps of the set in different colours except the large bold flower that I didn't use.

One of the flowers has been stamped on a piece of white card stock and fussy cut to be foam mounted on the card. I finished off with a sentiment from the set.

My next card is also a celebration card but with brighter colours. I also used the BIG & BOLD - Wish stamp.

I used a rainbow ink pad to stamp repeatedly the same image so that it looks like some fireworks.

I stamped part of the bold wish sentiment on top.

Then to finish I added some Wink of Stella on the colours as well as on the black sentiments. It's always hard to show the sparkle on a photo but believe me, it's all shiny with vibrant colours !

For my last card, I chose a totally different look and occasion.

As a lover of blue, I couldn't finish playing with this set without a blue card ! So I decided to make a smooshing background with two Distress inks. Once dry, I die cut this background into a crimped frame.

Then I stamped the flowers and the berries with the two Distress inks I used for the background. To give it more sparkle, I put some drops of Diamond Stickles on the flowers and the berries. I finished off by stamping the sentiment (from the Flower Power #6 set) on a stripe of Vellum that I previously covered with Wink of Stella.

That's all for me today. I hope you will get inspired and that you will come and join the Birthday Linky Party HERE with your birthday card ! And don't forget, during the whole month of February 2020 you can take advantage of the fabulous 10% discount on all your orders !

Thanks so much for stoping by and have a wonderful (and crafty) weekend !

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Hello!

Hello!

It's Jane here today to wish you a very Happy New Year and share a few cards made with the BIG & BOLD Hello stamp set. I also added in some stripes from Background Builders Classics.

BIGBOLDHello     BBclassicsPP

Here's my cards: A set of three ................

............... and a singleton.

The trio of cards all follow the same design just switching up the greeting and base card colour. While I was making these cards I kept looking at the smaller stamps that often get neglected in a set and decided to give them some love too. I used colours that were similar to the base card colours of the set of three and changed up the stripes to horizontal.

Well that's my little share all complete for today. I hope I may have inspired you a little with these CAS cards.

Jane
