Killing Box (noun) - a military maneuver that entails surrounding an enemy on all four sides in order to massacre them; another term for abattoir or slaughter-house.
Independent (adjective) - not influenced or controlled by others in matters of opinion, conduct; not subject to another's authority or jurisdiction; not relying on another or others for aid or support.
Art (noun) - the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance; human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature.
Grim (adjective) - not to be placated or appeased or moved by entreaty; ghastly, shockingly repellent; inspiring horror; black: harshly ironic or sinister; admitting of no appeasement or compromise.
Simply put, we're independent artists; artists whose sensibilities lean toward the grim. Why? Because we're paying attention. We realize that the world around us is filled with beauty but even beauty is dark, and sinister and surrounded on all sides but the grim aspects of life; human and otherwise. We're the people who circle the edges, never invited in because we're scary, unpleasant and often speak the truth too starkly.
We also realize this type of art is upsetting, and is often lead to slaughter. Most do not wish to know what lurks amongst the shadows and would rather blithely go through life unaware, unenlightened and ignorant. And what do humans do to things they do not understand, or are unyielding to pretense? They kill it.
But we're fighting back. We're few who stand against the many. But with strategy, intelligence and stealth, even the few can conquer the many. And we invite you to join us.
These are the brilliant words of Killing Boxx. This is an incredible, well thought out, and beautifully written site that reviews some really cool stuff. I feel privileged beyond words to say that our good friend, Ken, has posted about a little known combined feature documentary from Twisted Twins Productions working as a team with FortyFPS Productions called PLEASE SUBSCRIBE.
The documentary follows the lives of four viral celebrities, who just also happen to be some of the most genuine, talented, and kind people on the planet -- David Choi, HappySlip, Daxflame, and Tay Zonday. Check out the post from Killing Boxx here, then go wander through the site. You're good to fall in love with the lovely layout and the intelligent content.
With the countdown quickly approaching, we look back fondly at 2010. It's was a BIG, f'n year. So, grab yourself a shot of Jack and settle down for an epic recap... We began 2010 the way we ended 2009, filming our second feature film with CJ Wallis, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE. The film is a documentary that follows Youtube sensations Tay Zonday, David Choi, Happyslip, and Daxflame and explores the impact of viral videos through the eyes of some of Youtube's most subscribed and recognizable personalities.
In January, we traveled to Los Angeles to meet up with Tay Zonday, Happyslip, and David Choi and wrapped filming on the project. The film will be hitting festivals in 2011. Enjoy the OFFICIAL TRAILER below for a sneak preview of PLEASE SUBSCRIBE.
On a very sad note, our dear friend, Hannah Neurotica, lost her father, Michael, to scleroderma on January 19th, 2010. We lost a very talented writer and horror fanatic that day. We had the privilege of knowing him briefly and know he will be missed by all those who's lives he touched.
Being the definition of strength reflected by the Women of Horror, Hannah went on to create and launch the very first WOMEN IN HORROR RECOGNITION month that February. It was the first of a now world wide phenomenon where celebrations occur in every dark corner celebrating and recognizing the great Women of Horror. We were honored to pay tribute to this incredible event and created the WiH MASSIVE BLOOD DRIVE, a world wide event running all February long. How do you take part? Easy. Just give blood. Wherever you are, anytime, all month long, and tell 'em you're bleeding for Women In Horror. The event was a great success last year and we will continuing the tradition this year as we will continue to do forever. We will be releasing a NEWBlood Drive ad that is not to be missed and most likely be rejected by Blood Services much like last year's ad, seen below... *insert evil laughter*
2010 and WiH month also commenced the festival run of DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK. The very first festivals to show the film were two festivals in honor of WiH month, THE GHOULS ON FILM FESTIVAL and THE DOA PRETTY SCARY BLOOD BATH FILM FESTIVAL. We are blown away to be able to say that the film has been everywhere, from LA to the UK, Brazil, Vegas, Texas, Vancouver.... just to name a few. It's been one HELL of a year for DEAD HOOKER and we truly want to thank each and everyone of you for supporting us and our demented little film. Thank you to everyone who watched the film, bought a ticket, attended a festival, told a friend, wrote a blog, did an interview, reviewed the film, and told us about it! We can't begin to thank you enough for backing us. We wouldn't be where we are without you. Thank you from the bottoms of our twisted little hearts.
Now here's a little tune for your mind grapes while we go over the festivals, awards, and achievements for DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK...

We will be releasing official dates in the New Year, but we are happy to announce that DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK will be released next year. That's right, boys and grrls, you'll be able to bring home your very DEAD HOOKER! FINALLY!! Yaaaay~!!
And with the long journey of DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK coming to an end and PLEASE SUBSCRIBE locked and ready to unload on the film festival circuit, we begin anew with AMERICAN MARY.
It's been one hell of a year and the future is so bright we need sunglasses. Thank you to all of your for being there for us!! There are WAY too many of you to name and you certainly know who you are. Thank you more than we can ever express.
Our Bloodiest of Bests and we humbly promise, you ain't seen nothin' yet!!
Happy Birthday, David Choi!!! Here's a little BTS mashup to celebrate this rad guy taking down another year. Really talented, great guy. Check his stuff out, you'll love it.
Early yesterday morning, we drove out to the airport to drop a finished copy of "Please Subscribe" to a delivery depot that would fly it overseas for its first go at the festival circuit. It's really weird after everything is done after a film is completed. It's an odd calm. This was one of the best experiences I have had making a film, and my first time working on a non-fictional piece. The talent, David Choi, Happy Slip, Tay Zonday, and Daxflame, that we had the pleasure of following, and filming are some of the most genuinely kind and interesting people ever. The collaboration between the Twisted Twins and FortyFPS Productions was a lot of fun, in particular because this was the first feature the three of us, CJ Wallis, Jen and me, had worked on together since "Dead Hooker in a Trunk".
Once we have our future plans with "Please Subscribe" underway we will be posting more for you, girls and boys, but until then, the film is done! Wo-hoo!
New BTS photos have been added to Flickr, so check it out for a boo or two!
As the new documentary comes together in post production, it continues to attract more attention. The documentary, "Please Subscribe", follows four internet personalities- TayZonday, David Choi, HappySlip, and Daxflame- as we get to know the people behind the massively popular videos.
If you don't know already, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE is a joint venture from FortyFPS Productions and Twisted Twins Productions that follows Youtube sensations David Choi, Daxflame, Happyslip, and Tay Zonday as they take audiences through their rise to internet fame, discuss how Youtube has changed the face of entertainment forever, and where the future may take us.
Another sneak preview! To get the latest on Please Subscribe, please subscribe to our youtube channel where we will be uploading new content and previews!
Another incredible cover from the VERY talented David Choi! Can you spot the twisted twins item to appear in this video? If you can, contact us and win a special prize courtesy of your favorite twisted twosome! Watch carefully...
Another amazing guest celebrity was filmed this past weekend for PLEASE SUBSCRIBE. Here's a quick look at him along another guest star compliments of Greater Vancouver Zoo.
