American Mary To Play New York!!

AMERICAN MARY TO PLAY NEW YORK!!!!

"The Film Society of Lincoln Center’s annual horror fest Scary Movies returns for its 6th edition featuring a collection of first-time New York City screenings of highly anticipated horror films and thrillers, genre rarities and fan favorites.
Gavin Smith, Film Comment magazine's editor-in-chief and co-curator of Scary Movies, said, "This year's Scary Movies lineup delivers what we feel have become hallmarks of this series: Must-see new films like American Mary, Stitches, and Maniac, some underappreciated gems like The Believers and Eden Lake, and the rediscovery of great work by masters of horror - with Vincent Price in The Last Man on Earth and Wes Craven's Deadly Blessings nicely filling the bill." - Ryan Turek, Shock Till You Drop (full article)

A Tragedy That Could Use Your Help

End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. - Gandalf the White

When someone you love is no longer there, there really are no words to describe the pain, anger, and hurt - the above quote is the only thing that has ever even come close for me. Even when you think you have a handle on it, it comes rushing to the surface when you least expect it. It's hard as an adult and even harder when you're younger.

Jose Rodriguez passed away late July after a tragic motorcycle accident. The unexpected death would be a shock, especially to his wife and young children who would now have to face an ultimate nightmare. The funeral service was held July 31st to a congregation of bereaved family members and friends. Jose's 6 year old would tell friends - "we all need to stick together and be strong", with an understanding of life that no 6 year old should have to face.

On Friday, August 26th at 6pm in at the American Legion - 7908 State Route 69, Oriskany, NY - friends and family will be throwing a Benefit for Jose Rodriguez Family. This will be to raise funds for the Rodriguez children's future. Bands are still to be announced, but there will be live entertainment as well as raffles throughout the night and a yummy buffet. If you are in the New York area and want to go for a night out that would really help some good people out, please make plans to be at this benefit!

Thank you for checking this out and please share the information with your New York friends! A huge thank you to Tim Walchusky who has allowed us to help raise awareness for the Benefit. Tickets are $10 in advance (you can hit up Mr. Walchusky here) and $15 at the door - please make it out to the event and let us know how it went.
