Mike and Ike awesomefest with Jen and Sylvia Soska and CJ Wallis

Mike and Ike are fucking hilarious. Who are these outstanding gents? Comics/entertainment critics/film makers/stoners with a small but dedicated world wide, and very smart, fan base.

We have LOVED what these guys do for a long time and had the esteemed pleasure of sitting down and chatting for a good ole fashioned chat fest about all things under the sun. Of COURSE we chatted about our DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and our new baby, AMERICAN MARY. And what else?

Punching a bear in the face.

A Serbian Film and "newborn porn".

The Human Centipede.

What it was like watching DHIAT in a theater for the first time.

Our retirement from acting after our final appearance in AMERICAN MARY.

Strip clubs.

Baseball bats and disembodied eye balls.

Evil Dead: The Musical and the splatter zone.

Mike and Ike share a bowl and a smile with Jen and Sylvia Soska, the writers/directors/stars of the cult hit film DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, as well as CJ Wallis, the only major Y chromosome in the cast as well as tech guy extraordinaire. Things are discussed, secrets are revealed, passions are ignited, grapes are fermented, herbs are smoked.

Here's the link, please enjoy the most incredible inane banter every uttered ;)

Click HERE and grab a beer (or ten)!

And believe you me, you'll want to follow these fellas on Twitter RIGHT HERE. We tweet up a storm with these gents and YOU (yes, you!) could be a part of it.

We cannot wait to chat with these gents again. Enjoy the radstorm.

Bloody Best!

What About Bob?

"Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste, I've been around for a long, long year, Stole many a man's soul and faith..."

Truer words are rarely spoken or, in this case, beautifully designed. Compliments to designer CJ Wallis. There is nothing this man can't do.

Jen Soska has now reached her limit of 5,000 facebook friends. However, Bob Soska is more than happy to accept your friend request. After all, 5,000 is a good start for an army, but 10,000 has a really nice ring to it...

Come join the Twisted Twins Army and let's be friends. Each and every single one of you.

Friend Bob here.

Bloody Best!

Boo La La!!!

There is a hidden treasure for British Columbian, West Coasters to discover. Since we were little twisted twins, we would go in and look at all the rad. There we would find the means to properly celebrate the holiest of holidays, Halloween. We would become Beatrix Kiddo, GoGo, Elle Driver, Nancy (SIN CITY), Catwoman - my God, the number of times we have been Catwoman - Katana and Mileena, Sindel, Maharet and Mekare, Mary Jane Watson, and so on because of this fine establishment. It's a pity you can't play make believe everyday, unless you go into film making. That's a Bingo.

As you might know from reading earlier posts, we recently collaborated with the fantastic CJ Wallis of FortyFPS Productions on a project promoting the utterly fantastic Nokia N8, and there was a costumtunity - an opportunity for a costume. We met with our good friend and the shop's owner, Laurie Sluchinskiat Boo La La Costumes - Life's More Fun In Costume (and it is) - and she hooked us up with some incredibly beautiful and unique costumes for the short. It's not everyday that you can walk into a place and get a penguin mascot suit (that's right folks, twisted twin, Jen, is a majestic penguin) and a Starchild suit both - plus hundreds of other costumes that are just fabulous.

Boo La La prides itself with an inventory of over fifteen thousand costumes. Sorry no costumes for the kiddies here - and those little 'uns hog up all the inventory everywhere else anyhow. Not only does the store accommodate the casual and seasonal costumer but also styles for local theater and film productions with their expertise. Get Laurie to help you on a project and you're going to be a very lucky film maker indeed - the costumes worked wonderfully.

I've loved coming to this place for years and the team is just wonderful. We adore Laurie - she's just about the coolest lady ever and she always gets you the best stuff. If you need a wardrobe on this side of fantastic whether it be for film or fun, come by her shop for a boo or two...

Twisted Twins Join Director CJ Wallis for "Runaway"

Ladies and gentlemen, it's about to get wicked up in this bitch.

CJ Wallis would have to be our favorite person to work with and you bet your sweet ass that goes double, nay, triple when a 46" HD television is on the line. We are as happy as a 12 year old at a Bieber concert to be working together with him on his entry, RUNAWAY, for the Nokia N8: Direct and Project contest. CJ was approached by Chris at WOMWorld/Nokia to participate in this competition. You can get all caught up here.

Though we must, as always, keep our lips sealed on the particulars and plot of RUNAWAY, we can reveal that it will be directed, of course, by mister Wallis, it will be shot ENTIRELY on the gore~geous little Nokia N8 to showcase the handy little camera's impressive capabilities, we Twisted Twins will be lending a hand with the story, the sensational Jeffery Zablotny will be providing visual embellishments along with CJ, and the talented Connor Stanhope (above), seen as the young Lex Luther on SMALLVILLE will be appearing in the film.

Please read the FULL STORY HERE.

The top three entries will get to keep the Nokia N8 and have their short film uploaded onto the Nokia Canada YouTube page. The top film selected will also receive a "huge screen TV" and two free cinema passes for the year. The finished clips must be submitted by January 13th, 2011. The winners shall be announced live at a huge celebration held at the Vancouver Art Gallery on January 19th.

Stay tuned...

One final thing I can say is that we want that TV. We want it bad. It is a downright, bloody shame that a household that loves and lives for film like this one doesn't have a beautiful HD TV to enjoy our movies on. We WILL win that TV. If for nothing else, to see my exquisite Solid Snake in his full, high def glory.
Mmmmmm... hmmmm... that's some good Snake. Soon, my darling, soon.... I'm gonna go take a cold shower.

XO,
Jen

Arrow in the Head and American Mary

Rob Dimension foretells American Mary on NecroCOMICon

Rob Dimension is awesome. If you haven't checked into the LATE NIGHT HORROR HOTEL, naughty, naughty... We love it. Makes us giggle like school girls. It even says so right on the box ;)

Not only is mister Dimension a supporter of our new girl AMERICAN MARY (treat yourselves to a little read of his FULL ARTICLE on AMERICAN MARY here), but he has supported this Twisted twosome from the DEAD HOOKER days. And much like elephants, twisted twins don't forget those who stand by us.

Stay tuned, boys and grrls...

Something wicked this way comes...

XO,
Jen

Killer Reviews and American Mary

Since we released our first look at our new project, AMERICAN MARY, the response has been over whelming. We can't even begin to thank the horror community for embracing the new film as they have. We're happy to announce that our MARY has reached far and wide and now she's even entered KILLER REVIEWS. Thank you to Gregg Dumont of KILLER REVIEWS for showing our new girl some love!!

We will also be sending over a copy of our first born, DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, for immediate review!! And just when you thought the rad storm couldn't get any more epic, we have BIG news looming for DHIAT. Whatever could it be? Well, it has become our most pressing questions... Guesses? ;)

Excelsior~!!

Twisted Twins talk American Mary with Hannah Neurotica

"In late November Jen & Sylvia Soska announced how they would celebrate the second anniversary of Twisted Twins Productions: release a teaser for their next feature film! Hype was building around just what the teaser for American Mary would contain. Would it be another Grindhouse inspired feature like Dead Hooker in a Trunk (DHIAT) or……..? Just what direction was this creative team heading? As one of the lucky few to view the teaser before it’s December 11th release, it was hard as hell to keep my mouth shut. And yet the twisted twins along with partner in crime/ co- producer CJ Wallis (Fortyfps Productions) are showing excellent willpower in a culture that wants nothing more than instant gratification. It’s been a while since we were given a horror film to look forward to without being inundated with clips and behind the scenes footage and leaks, etc. Not to mention trailers that are so long you feel as though you already saw the damn film. The first American Mary teaser gives very little away but says a lot about the atmosphere and eery body horror vibe that awaits us." ~Hannah Neurotica, Ax Wound Zine

For those of you who are a little late to the awesome fest, allow me to re-introduce you to Hannah Neurotica. She is an incredibly gifted writer. Her knowledge of horror would put would many to shame. She is the creator of Ax Wound Zine. Her official site will inform you that Hannah Neurotica is an artist who uses numerous creative mediums to explore issues of gender, sexuality, and taboo. And this is very true. Ax Wound Zine isn't only loved by we Twisted Twins but also director Eli Roth, Herschell Gordon Lewis (Godfather of Gore: Blood Feast, Gore Gore Girls, 2000 Maniacs!), Lucky Mckee (May, Sick Girl, The Woods), Jovanka Vuckovic (Award winning writer and former Editor-In-Chief of Rue Morgue Magazine (2003-2009), and by horror fans, feminists, and people everywhere. She is also the founder of Women In Horror recognition month (and it's almost time for our annual Massive Blood Drive in celebration of the aforementioned month...).

Hannah also happens to be someone we both respect and admire. She has stood by us and our DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK long before AMERICAN MARY came along. For this reason, she was one of the very first ones to get a look at the new film. We were so happy to have the opportunity to open up about the new teaser, what's in store for the new film, what else is coming up for us all, and what people are saying about AMERICAN MARY.

Be sure to check out the FULL INTERVIEW HERE.

Bloody Best!

Project Greenman

Introducing Project Greenman. Here's their story...

This video is brought to you by CJ Wallis of FortyFPS Productions. Twisted Twins Productions was there on set to assist this noble cause. What noble cause? This one --
"Start by being aware of issues affecting our environment and what you personally can do to make a difference. Now imagine what an informed and organized group could accomplish! Discover the art and science of gardening as you embark on an awesome lifetime adventure.

Project Greenman will allow you to follow a tiny seed through its life cycle. Planting seeds and growing plants represent the continuation of life; a rebirth of our world and promise for tomorrow. We want you to be part of this future. When you become an "Agent for Change" you will have the chance to assist other members fulfilling a commitment to rejuvenate our Earth. Plant a tree, share seeds and draw public attention to what we're doing right and where we're going wrong. You will have pride in knowing you are part of an organization committed to the betterment of our planet. Demonstrate compassion towards others and offer assistance whenever possible."

I remember on Earth Day as a kid in school, we went to this huge site where there was a bunch of us with bags and bags of seedlings to plant. It was really fun and I got that 'Wo, I'm helping make the world a better place' feeling. You hear a lot about environmental issues and the problem sometimes seems so overwhelming that you don't know how to start. Education for young people, heck, us older fucks too, is the best way to introduce people to greener thinking. Project Greenman is one of those initiatives that gets you thinking, starting just with a small seed.

The Scarlet Ending, FortyFPS Productions, and Twins, Twins, Twins...

Over the weekend, we Twisted Twins had the esteemed pleasure of working on two music videos for the Scarlet Ending, an incredible New York band, directed by CJ Wallis. If you don't know him by now, *cough, Goody Two Shoes, cough, Dead Hooker*, shame on you. Seriously. Go sit in the corner and let the grown ups talk. As for the rest of you, read on...

Though the content of the videos are hush hush for the time being, I CAN tell you that these videos will blow your mind grapes. You ought to keep a close eye on FortyFPS Productions for all the details and the release dates.

As for the Scarlet Ending, who may these wondrous musicians be? Glad you asked.

In their own words...

"The music scene in Syracuse, New York is a snow globe that has been turned upside down and shaken by a new sound. That sound is coming from The Scarlet Ending, a six piece band that is stretching the confines of genre. Loosely defined as indie rock, The Scarlet Ending offers a blend of pop with cabaret, the grit of dive bar rock with the charms of three part harmony. This unique personality comes through in the angelic yet unforgiving voices of sisters Kaleena and Kayleigh Goldsworthy. These two command the stage while playing piano and guitar respectively, in addition to violin, melodica, and a pawn shop of other instruments. The theatricality of the girls is supported with a backbone of innovative musicians. Guitarist Jon Tedd and Cellist Jess Hafner compliment the layers of sound while Bassist Aaron Garritillo and drummer Nicholas Streeter syncopate and carry each song to their full potential.

The Scarlet Ending has received recognition both home and abroad, beginning with their debut EP which earned them a Syracuse Area Music Award for Best Pop Record of 2005. Their follow up full length, Cries and Whispers, saw the release of “The Way We Used To Be” which was featured on MTV’s The Hills. Since this breakthrough, the band has been active touring in the United States as well as seeing time in Greenland, Germany, and The Middle East as members of the Armed Forces Entertainment roster. This upswing of exposure has made The Scarlet Ending an unrelenting force. With the release of "Ghosts" in April 2010, featuring Will Noon on drums (of Straylight Run and Breaking Pangea), The Scarlet Ending is ready to expand their fan base, and share the rare promise and potential they possess. The Scarlet Ending has never claimed to redefine the expectations of pop music, but they just might."

And may I just say that the Scarlet Ending is absolutely amazing. As people and artists. It was a real pleasure to meet fellow twins that are working their collective asses off for their art. It really shows. They are talented, brilliant, sweet, thoughtful, beautiful, and driven. I miss them already.

Stay tuned for the delicious unveiling...

Bloody Best!
