The Gorehound and American Mary

We love horror. We always have. Little did we know when we stole into the horror sections at our local video stores and peeked behind the rental boxes to discover the horrifying images that there was such an incredible horror community out there. The way DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK was accepted and supported by this aforementioned community absolutely blew us away. Even at its early stages, having released only a TEASER TRAILER and down loadable POSTER, our new project, AMERICAN MARY, has received killer feedback. We ant to take this moment to thank Erik Kulczynski, the Gorehound himself of THE GORE HOUND for standing behind our new demented vision. If you like heavy metal, gore, and wicked awesome movies, treat yourself to a look around the GOREHOUND.

We certainly will be.

Film-Book, Mary-Doctor

"Underground surgeries? Why would you ever do something like that, take that risk? This is for those people that are surgery addicted I guess. They ran a few episodes on this – I believe – on the TV Show Nip/Tuck. This is a good teaser trailer as it leaves the viewer wanting more. Check out the American Mary teaser trailer below and leave your thoughts on it. No word yet on when American Mary opens in theaters."

We are just so damn happy that the teaser is spreading so far and has achieved its greatest goal... to tease.

Thank you kindly to Film-Book dot Com for posting the teaser and for the lovely write-up. Treat yourself to the whole piece here.

Spooky Sean Spends a Night (Chatting) With the Twisted Twins

We like talking to awesome people. And we just happen to be in luck as the horror community is filled with pretty much the best people there are. As people may notice when they speak to us, we're very down to Earth. We can gore and geek it up with the best of 'em.

We were abso~fuckin'~lutely thrilled to have had the opportunity to chat with Spooky Sean, of Spooky Sean's Sinful Bloggery!! He was kind enough to approach us for what he deemed a "random ass interview" and if you've seen DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, you'd know that "random ass" is an element we both fully embrace and thrive on. It's like applause for Tinkerbell and water for flowers. We live off it. Not only was the interview a hell of a lot of fun, we also had the chance to answer questions we've NEVER BEEN ASKED BEFORE! That's right, this bitch is full of exclusive tidbits from your favorite Twisted Twosome. My VERY favorite being: "If you could be any kind of monster, what kind would you want to be?"

For the FULL INTERVIEW FEAST, eat it up HERE!!

Thank you kindly to Spooky Sean for the delicious chit chat. We look forward to round two!!

XO,
Jen

Can't Contain Our Splatter Love!

Roughly translated as...

"There are out two sister a little bastard files that come from the Canada that, with their first independent film, from them produced, written, directed and interpreted, received an avalanche of compliments from different publishing heads international, beyond that from experts of the area like Eli Roth. The film is titled Dead Hooker in to Trunk and tells the story of four friends to the taken with a body of a prostitute found in the luggage compartment of their car. Jen and Sylvia Soska now attempt themselves in this American Mary, controversial film always realized means the Twisted Twins Productions, company of property of the sister."

Who are these wonderful Italians who have such kind words for us? They are Splattercontainer - the biggest Horror Magazine Online from Italy. We are delighted that they have heard of our work and are excited to see what comes next with AMERICAN MARY. I received a message this morning from Marco Viola of Spattercontainer letting us know about their wonderful piece and we can't thank them enough for getting behind the film like this!

Ringraziarla, Splattercontainer! Lei è meraviglioso e resteremo in contatto.

Hell Hath No Fury... like a Man stuck in Jersey

"You know – I disappear into Jersey for not but two days and all sorts of crazy shit starts going on. Jen and Sylvia Soska have really had the indie horror scene talking this past year. Their yet to be distributed film Dead Hooker in a Trunk has been making waves and in spite of lack of distribution has been able to find showings in a ton of spots that defy tradition. We even hosted a standing room only showing in the downstairs of a pub!" - Marc Patterson

Marc Patterson is one hell of a guy. If you don't know him or haven't read BRUTAL AS HELL - please catch up here. For those of you that are have yet to be introduced to the fantastic site that is BRUTAL AS HELL, please read on --
"Brutal As Hell is a horror culture website that focuses on modern hack n’ slash, 60′s and 70′s exploitation, gialli, sleaze, and all forms of video nasty, highlighting hot directors, actors, composers, and everything that falls in-between. Brutal As Hell features five original monthly columns, news, film reviews, and monthly interviews. Check out the bio’s below!"

I absolutely fucking love that DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK has played in a pub and I fucking love every single person who came out to support it, told a friend, and has been behind the film. Marc has it right on the money when he says (about AMERICAN MARY) "this film will be our reward" in reference to the new film being a thank you to the horror fans that have been supporting us. The success that DHIAT has seen and will see - distribution news is just around the corner - is a result of the horror community banding together and really getting behind the film. AMERICAN MARY is our humblest thanks.

This is a great and intriguing piece. Much speculation on the upcoming film, but for now our lips are relatively sealed. Read the whole article here and relish all the radness.

The Jaded Viewer sets his sights on AMERICAN MARY

"Christmas has come early this year. The Soska Sisters have given us an early present in the form of a new trailer." ~The Jaded Viewer

We love the Jaded Viewer. Once upon a time ago, when we were virtually unknown and had a heck of a time getting people to take a chance on checking out a little indie film called DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, he had been the very first to review the trailer. We promptly sent out a screener of the full feature and now the rest is history. He has mentioned that IF he ever lands a quote on a DVD box, he will retire. I certainly hope that is not the case as I don't want to live in a world without a Jaded Viewer in it.

For his insight into our new project, AMERICAN MARY, check out his BLOG HERE.

A very sincere thanks for the continued support and friendship.

Jen

Anything Horror and American Mary

"My favorite sister filmmaking team is back with another feature. Sylvia and Jen Soska, the twisted minds behind the fantastic DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, are back and this time they sound like they’re really taking a trip down a very dark and disturbing road, and I’m so excited that I’m about to burst through my skin!!" Scott Shoyer, Anything Horror

Scott Shoyer is a true horror fan and certainly knows his shit. We chatted with Scott earlier this year and really enjoyed it. If you missed out, and shame on you if you did, you can make up for it by checking out the interview here.
Though are lips are sealed in regards to many of the details of the film, Scott is able to shine some light on what you can expect in the upcoming film.

You can check out the FULL ARTICLE HERE. You can thank us later ;)

Thank you to mister Shoyer for the gore~geous piece!

Twisted Twins Productions' 2nd Anniversary Sneak Peek

Today is a very special day -- today we celebrate Twisted Twins Productions' 2nd Anniversary with a teaser for our 2nd feature film, AMERICAN MARY. This has been an incredible journey, friends. We will never be able to truly express how much all the kindness and support has meant to us. We started with a crazy idea and crazy ambition - with one of the best teams in the business, we made a grind-house indie flick called DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and thanks to you folks, it's been making it rounds like an acclaimed lady of the night. The film has traveled the world being screened everywhere, with more screenings coming everyday.

We would have never ever been able to have gotten to this point without all the love and support. Thank you for every message sent, every piece written, every time word was passed along, every festival that screened us, every interview given, every time you sent along encouraging words, and for all the friendship. We never knew the kind of warm welcome we would receive from the horror community and it means the world to us.

It is at this time we would like to give you a sneak peek at the new feature. Below is the teaser. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible: The team at Industry Works who not only believed in us to be the sales agents for DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK but also for being part of the team that is bringing you AMERICAN MARY, to CJ Wallis of FortyFPS Productions who shot, cut, and did the post on the teaser, to Paula Lindberg who plays a perfect Ruby RealGirl, to Mark Shostrom who gave the production invaluable advice, to Katie and Alyssa Satow who brought the aesthetic of Ruby to life, to Brandy George our additional hair and makeup artist, to Marius and Agnes Soska whose kindly co-produced the venture, to Dr. Dan and Loretta Hartney for their generous contributions, Beck Goldsmith who supplied the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, Lily the sweet grey fluffy kitty for excellent work, and to my beloved doppleganger, Jen, for all the little things like kicking some ass.

Please enjoy this teaser. Pass it along to your cool friends. Tell folks about it.

We're in early pre-production on the piece and are hoping to get this out to you, girls and boys, soon! It's going to have some totally fucked up, unique shit with very dark humor throughout. I hope you dig it.

The Realm Cast is Realm Awesome

One day left in November before the big countdown to the AMERICAN MARY teaser release on December 11th. You can keep track with the new countdown calendar on the front page of the site (million thanks to CJ Wallis for creating something so pretty and dirty).

I'm getting realmy realmy stoked and that's not just because our friends at The Realm Cast is getting the word out about the upcoming sneak peek. Well, maybe it IS because The Realm Cast is getting the word out. Thank you, Sam the Horror Man, for saying this --

"My favorite twins are back and have loads more to offer us."

Aw, shucks. The feeling is mutual, sir.
"Oh the lovely Soska sisters. They truly do make my black heart skip a beat. They brought us the gritty fun flick Dead Hooker In A Trunk, and now they plan on giving us more horror goodies to enjoy starting December 11th.

The date is an important one to the women as it also happens to be the two-year anniversary of their production company’s formation."

Read the whole piece here. Then, because you're already on a rad site for fans by fans, you should mill about. Loitering is fine and you're going to love it. It's a must read for horror fans.

Geek Tyrant Teases Something Cosmetically Twisted

Our good friend, Brian Shirley, of Geek Tyrant, had a sneak peek of the upcoming teaser (Dec. 11th - second anniversary/second feature film) and had this to say --
"The two awesome twins Jen and Sylvia Soska who brought us Dead Hooker in a Trunk are at it again, this time with American Mary. What's happening on December 11th? Well I'm glad you asked my friends. The Twisted Twins are celebrating their two year anniversary of Twisted Twins Productions and will drop the new teaser trailer for American Mary on their website on that date. I've been lucky enough to witness this teaser and after going over it several times this looks like another winner from our favorite Canadian twins. I'm not allowed to say too much but I will say this, "American Mary is cosmetically twisted"!"

It's getting closer! Read the whole piece here - you'll be glad that you did, boys and girls. More news to come and maybe a little versus...

Proud Mary Keeps on Rolling

The countdown to the release of the AMERICAN MARY teaser on December 11th continues as November comes to an end. Our good friends are helping spread the word. A very humble and gracious thank you for all the support. You are the people who made DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK the success that it is today. AMERICAN MARY is especially for you.

Here is more tease for the upcoming teaser --

Read the piece from MORE HORROR.
"We can't wait to see what the girls have in store for us next. We'll keep you posted."

Read the piece from DREAD CENTRAL.
"Twisted twins Jen and Sylvia Soska, the masterminds behind Dead Hooker in a Trunk, are back at it with American Mary, a film they're keeping quite close-lipped about other than promising its trailer will debut on December 11th."

I just want to tell you everything in every tiny detail, but for now, we must wait. Thank you for being at our side for this journey. It's going to be a real mother-fucker.

Mary Loves Her Ax Wound

It's two weeks before the AMERICAN MARY teaser release and Twisted Twins Productions' second anniversary. We were introduced to miss Hannah Neurotica, of Ax Wound, a little while ago by mutual friend, Eli Roth. Since then, we've become very close - like sisters. Hannah was one of the first people to read the script for AMERICAN MARY and as the project progressed, we've spoken back and forth excitedly.

As the excitement spreads with the upcoming teaser trailer, Ax Wound gives an insider look on the new film and here's a little tease --
"AMERICAN MARY tells a very different story then DHIAT and is less Grindhouse, more straight up horror. This is a story that really gets under your skin. It’s as if they took what scared them most and used AMERICAN MARY as a vehicle for exploring that creepy reality. This is a movie nobody will be able to ignore – it will explode & this post is proof that I said it before the storm of much deserved horror fandom comes raining down on AMERICAN MARY."

The subject matter comes from something that did indeed disturb the shit out of us, the twisted twosome. It's going to be a very dark ride, girls and boys. Things are coming together beautifully and things will start happening faster and faster. Read the whole scoop from Hannah here. Hannah, thank you, sis. You fucking rock!

Mary, Mary...

A little screen-saver that CJ Wallis of Forty FPS Productions (also Goody Two-Shoes from DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK) created for us. Only a few weeks away from the big teaser reveal on December 11th. Stay tuned, girls and boys!

The Best Laid Plans

A few months ago we showed 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk' to director Eli Roth who took a shine to the film. Since then, he has been incredibly supportive of it and our work. He asked if we had a more 'straight-forward' horror script that he could read. What came from that request was 'American Mary'.

We had originally planned on shooting a teaser/sneak peek for it this Saturday and it was going to be awesome, but, as with any production, there were a couple problems. Our original actress had scheduling conflicts so we had to recast. Last night, things fell through with my prosthetics team. Scrambling to fix the situation, we have one day to figure things out and it doesn't look like it will happen.

I'm sad to inform you that this advanced look at the film will be put on hold until I can reschedule it's construction. Very sorry, boys and girls. I've been excited about this story for a long time and had hoped that this would work out, but it won't.
