Simple Kraft colors and card

A friend's daughter asked me to create a few cards that would be quick and easy for a group of friends. These were two that I showed her that were rather easy with little coloring and some textures. I do like how kraft or white cardstock give you the option of little work as the splash of color sets it off well. This first one is using Alluring Lily if you have the digital image, or Tiger Lily that I have used here. Not using the whole image is a great idea for quick cards also.
Some simple coloring with colored pencils for the petals. Added swiss dots for the textured background and then a die cut scalloped edge. Finish off with my sentiment and some sequins.

My second one using the digital version if you have it Dahlia or in my case the Dahilia XL stamp.  Same thoughts for this one but a different embossed background and color. I added more white colored pencil to the petals on this one and I think was my favorite. She liked both and thought the variety for colors would be good. Either way Voila! :-)

April colored bird

Evening. Things have been a little busy lately as I started a new job a little over a month ago. It has been fun and challenging trying to balance all the newness of things. I did get my card done for the
Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge, just never got it photo'd till now. This month is posted and you can find the challenge HERE.

Grabbed my Prisma colored pencils and gave them a whirl. Boy I am rusty at creating ai yi yi. Used some designer paper from an older pack and added some textures to the base layer behind the bird panel. A simple jewel for the snowflake and voila! Wish I could say I was gonna get some coloring in this weekend but that isn't going to happen. We have a few house renovations we are starting up. Anyways.... I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Krafty fragrance

Good morning. Was your New Year's weekend as successful as mine? I did a pretty good purge/clean of the house and just about every room or cupboard. I would say we were very successful and felt like we accomplished a lot. Starting off 2021 on a more hopeful and clean note.  :-)

How about a floral note today. This is Pure Fragrance that is printed on kraft paper and colored with Prisma colored pencils. Still needing to work on my colors and blending with these pencils.

There are so many videos out there on colored pencils and after I watch them I always give it a try. This is one I did a few weeks back and just now am posting. Simple layer of designer paper onto white and added to the kraft base. Had two tags punched n the bin so I added one to the top and one to the edge. A few enamel dots and my sentiment tag to complete. Looking at this I can tell I need to watch more videos and practice more once again. ha ha  Have a wonderful day!

Quite a Christmas part two Cuddle In The Cabin

Good Afternoon and welcome to Power Poppy's Quite a Christmas release part two. If you missed part one check back on the PP Blog HERE for the start and all the sets both parts. Marcy has drawn a total of 10 new stamp sets/digital for you. These are all available in digital format or in stamp form. More information from Macy and noes on all the sets can be found on the Power Poppy Blog each day. Get ready and enjoy!

Today we are sharing with you Cuddle In The Cabin. Don't you just love the wintry scene of a cottage and snow all tucked back like a hide away. More times that not I wish I had a cabin to go to just for quite and serene feel of it all. Anyhow...My creation today is using Prisma colored pencils after I stamped my cottage onto kraft card stock.

Before I stamped the sentiment I also stamped in light gray ink the extra tree in the set for a background of the sentiment. Didn't quite turn out like I thought it would but it doesn't look too bad. Die cut a heart out in red to bring out the chimney and the word heart in the sentiment. Added a wood button and some twine to the edge and voila!

Sweet Friday

Good morning. Trying to catch my breath the last few weeks and haven't had time to post much. I did create this card a few weeks back and finally sat down to post it. This is using Apples in Season that I colored using Prisma colored pencils.

Once colored a simple die cut for the shape to layer onto the designer paper. I also added a strip of green olive paper down the side to match under the sentiment circle and the button. Some enamel dot accents and sparkles to finish it off. Voila!

Gamer birthday

I bought this digital image I don't know how long ago and finally am using it. He is called Game On and he sure is perfect for a guy birthday we have coming up. He is printed on kraft cardstock and colored with Prisma colored pencils.

Pierced around the edge for the image panel then layered on to the designer paper and the embossed red base layer. A few die cut banners and stars for accents. Finished with the birthday sentiment. Voila!

Wash your hands please

Happy Friday! Wash Your Hands , have you seen it and used it yet? I forgot I even colored this up and needed to post it. Ack! Still relevant anytime I would say.  :-)  I used some of my new Prisma colored pencils that I got. Still trying to learn new ways to shade with them from video's I ahve been watching.

I like how the bubbles turned out on this with the hints of sparkle that I added to them.
A simple stitched die cut for the image panel and layered onto some green card stock and added to the base. Voila!

Calming easy feeling

How about a more subtle softer feel with Lavender creation today. Don't miss out on this stamp set as it is on sale now! I stamped the lavender bag onto kraft card stock and used various Prisma colored pencils to color. Still need to work on the blending a little bit I think but I do like the softer feel that pencils give cards.

More of the designer paper from that Authentic pack I was sharing last week for my base layer. Wrapped some lavender ribbon and twine around the base layers. A button and some sequins accents. Voila!

Penciled Serenity

Good morning. Season of Serenity was another new digital image that we came out with. Printed on kraft card stock and then colored with a variety of Prisma colored pencils. Still needing to work on the colored pencil technique but I do think I get better with each try. Needed to blend more I think? Anyways.

Easy design with only some cord wrapped around the base tied off with a button. Sparkle added to parts of the green sprigs and a few enamel dots. Voila!

Hanging by the needles

Welcome to the Dirty Dozen September Christmas challenge. This months challenge can be found HERE. Hope you can play along.
How about some Wreaths Plain and Fancy today for my card. Lots of distressing on the edges as you can see. Gives it that warm country feel I think along with the Prisma colored pencils I used to color with.

Just a simple little button with some twine wrapped around the end panel. Then added some sparkle to finish it off. Voila! Check out the challenge and play along. Have a great day.

Deer birthday man

Another digital image that is no longer available. Man I need to either stop buying these or start using them more. The hard choices in life. ha ha  This did not quite turn out like I pictured it in my head either with the green grass like I added. Too late though once it was done I had to work with it.

Anyways, this one is using my Prisma colored pencils and some distressing around all the layers. A few brads as accents and my birthday sentiment. Voila!

Dry dock birthday

Good morning. I hope you had a good weekend. For a change I was able to sit down and get some coloring in and create some cards. That is really good too since we have several birthday's coming up and I am out of all birthday cards. This image is a digital called In The Harbour which apparently is no longer available.

Printed on kraft card stock and then colored with Prisma colored pencils. Actually played around a lot with these this weekend which was super fun. Added piercing around the image panel and the base layers. A diamond textured background before I added the piercing to that layer.
Tied some twine around and a button for the birthday sentiment and voila! It sure was nice to get into some paper and colors this weekend. Have a wonderful day.

Penciled Rose with quote

Good morning and happy Friday. Marcy released a beautiful new digi from the Instant Garden called Vital Rose which can be purchased and printed now! :-) My watercolor colored pencils skills needed some more polishing so I thought this rose would be perfect. And I would say, I need some more polishing yet. ha ha  Water coloring with ink or pencils or whatever just seems to evade me, but I keep plugging along and keep at it. Eventually I will come around, right? Anyways... This rose is awesome any color  medium you choose I would say.

The quote around the rose is colored with a light blue pencil and then water colored over just as the rose. Wonder if a darker blue would of made it stand out more, maybe next time. Just a little texture for the base layer with some swiss dots. Wrapped a little bit of sheer black ribbon and then added the flower base. The petals do have some sparkle and a few sequins as usual.  :-)

Deep soothing breath

Welcome to the 2018 Dare To Get Dirty Challenges. What fun these are. Not sure what we are talking about? Check out the FAN CLUB page and join the club. Special challenges and fun awaits you! :-) This year I am able to host a challenge again and I am super excited as this is always a fun week at SCS. Check out my challenge HERE for details and linking your creation.

Some of you might need to be a little more generic with their creation for the challenge such as I have done here. And that is PERFECT all the same. I want everyone to play along. This is Take a Deep Breath that is just awesome. We actually saw some of these flowers and leaves up in Canada recently when we were on vacation, very cool! I have this printed on kraft cardstock and colored with various Prisma colored pencils. Some scrap designer paper for the base that is embossed with a dots folder. Some piercing along the bottom edges and a button and twine combo for the corner. Sparkles added to the water and voila! Hope you can play along with us today!

Kindness Free Digi at Power Poppy

Good morning and welcome to another Digital Blitz from the every so talented Marcy! Today we have a few FREE digital images for you to download and play with called Kindness is the way. Not only free, but Kit and Clowder has a free online coloring using these images. GASP!!! I know right.... Please check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the details, links and more info on the next few days of digital images. Woot Woot!!!

I ADORE this new Kindness is the way.  I printed on the kraft cardstock so I was able to color with my Prisma colored pencils out on the desk. This was printed to fit the front of a standard card yet I wanted to only use portions for this card. A polka dot designer paper to go behind just a tad of the flowers. Wrapped twine around the base and a button to bring out the soft blue on the petals. Stamped between the flowers a few sentiments from Party Time and then added sparkles to the purple flower. Also added pencil to the sentiment panel. Voila!

Please check out the Power Poppy Blog for a listing of all the creative creations being shown today. Along with details of the coming days. So exciting! Have a wonderful day.

Pencil Peonies

Well it was time to pull out the Prisma colored pencils again and color this one called Irresistible Peonies. Isn't is lovely? I have the clear set called Peony Muse and you can create just about any arrangement you want with the set. The Prisma colored pencils were needing to be used again so  grabbed three or four and went to town. I ADORE how these leaves turned out with the hints of banana. Very soft and pretty.

This all started because I had this banana colored heart die cut sitting on the desk and that was my color focus with the purple. Added some swiss dots to the green and then my sentiment from Loving Tulips and some sequins and sparkle. Voila!

Beautiful bouquet

Morning. These wonderful blooms are called Pure Prairie Bouquet.  This is a rather vibrant and colorful array of flowers so I tried to re-create the idea in my head using the Prisma Colored pencils. Yes I am addicted to these and need practice.  :-)  I think the blue flowers are my favorite but you knew that already didn't you? hee hee

I have the stamp set but used the digi for this as it was in my printed stack that I am trying to twindle down a bit. The only accent I have here is the little scallop border to the left and some sequins. The green background paper was suppose to draw out the leaves and stems but not sure I accomplished that quite right. Oh well... Live and you learn right.  I hope you have a GREAT day today! Thanks for stopping by.

Penciled Orchids cascading

Morning. So yes I have been going a little crazy with the colored pencils I know, but I need a lot of work still. And the only way to get it right is to keep coloring and trying, right? Yet another one using the Prisma colored pencils and the new Instant Garden release called Orchid Cascade

I made a mistake when I had this printed as I thought it was kraft card stock, but in fact it was chocolate. EEK! Well why not give it a try? The colors turn out more vibrant on the chocolate paper verses the kraft isn't that interesting.
Using one of the sentiments in the digi and just moved it over to be under the petals a little bit. A few sequins for accents and voila! Thanks for stopping by today.

Penciled Pansies

Good morning and welcome to the weekend. hee hee  If you get a chance check out the new Power and Spark challenge this month with our host Ally. The challenge is Fabric inspired. How fun is that , with all the beautiful fabrics out there it will be hard to pick. I will be playing later this month hopefully. Be sure to check out the PP blog for details.

This creation is using Pansies. Using two of my new purple shades of Prisma colored pencils and a light blue color. The green shades I already had and then a hint of brown for the centers and some vanilla. I do like how this turned out.
Die cut the flowers and made sure that the petals that over extended the die were popped out from the panel. A decorative die for the background and some light blue paper. Tied off a ribbon bow with some silver cord and jewels to finish it off. Voila!
