WCMD Seasons are upon us

Today is World Card Making Day! I seem to play along every other year as it depends on what I have going on at home. Today is all about cards, woot woot! Over on the Power Poppy Blog Marcy has some FUN going on! Check it out and all the details about playing along in WCMD and prizes with Power Poppy. So be sure and post your creations for us to see!

When we had to decide what type of card we enjoy making the most I was torn. I make a lot of encouraging cards or thank you cards so it was a toss up. I went with encouraging today since one I needed a card for a friend and two the new Season's Seatings digi just came out and I wanted to play with it.  hee hee
The scripture was put off to the side when I was getting them on the page together. Colored with various Copic markers and then scored around the border before adding the chocolate layer. Some designer paper from my growing pile of paper and added flourishes pearls to the edge. Voila! Happy WCMD, have fun!

We got a sale happening. For a limited time!!! 24 Hour Flash Sale (Sale ends Sunday, Oct 7, 2018 at 7am CST)

Choose Hope, Think Pink at Power Poppy

It is World Cardmaking Day and Power Poppy is having some fun! We have a few challenges today all sure to inspire you to play with ink, paper and scissors. they started early this morning, so check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the details!

During this entire month, we honor our mothers, sisters, aunties, friends, grandmothers, and all women facing breast cancer. Let's spark awareness by Thinking PINK on our cards or creations! As a Pink Ribbon Sponsor for Splitcoaststampers' Hope you Can Cling To Campaign, simply join in on one of the Challenges HERE on SCS this month! Check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the details on the Choose Hope, Think Pink challenge!

What better fun than having tea with all the girls? Dina's challenge on SCS found HERE was all about Hold onto your Hope! Create a shaped card with a handle or use an image with a handle. Have fun with it! Be sure to link up your creation on SCS an the PP Blog! This fun teacup shape found HERE was perfect for what I had in mind. I resized it down to about a 5 inch x 5 inch card. Traced and cut. I then trimmed around the center cup part so that I could layer a white piece of cardstock that I stamped my Azalea's on and colored with copic markers. Once colored I added a little bit of white lace trim to the top. Punched a hole in the top of the cup for my tea bag tag to hang down with some bakers twine. Added a few jewels and voila!  I hope you get a chance to stamp and play today! Have a wonderful afternoon.

WCMD Washington Apples

Image

Welcome to World Card Making Day at Flourishes 2013! We thought it would be especially fun and fitting to extend a challenge that has to do with your corner of the Cardmaking World! So, here goes: Create something that represents or is inspired by your state or province. We're leaving the interpretation up to you but you could be inspired by your state or province flower, your slogan, the scenery you'll find there, colors, or your state or provincial flag. Then make sure you describe to us what the connection is! Fun right?
  • Your keyword for online galleries is WCMDFLLCCorner, but remember you must use our InLinkz button at the bottom of the post to be entered.
  • Entries using Flourishes stamps will be counted twice.
Playing along could win you a Flourishes stamp set of your choice!! Now that's always fun! Deadline for entries is Friday October 11 at 5:00 PM EST and we'll announce the winner in our Saturday Winner's Circle on the Flourishes Blog.

I live in Washington state the largest producer and distributor of apples. The orchard fields are amazing around here along with all the wineries we have. So my choice for this challenge was easy as I choose Apple Of My Eye to play with. My apples are stamped onto Classic White card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with Copic collections:

Once colored I simply scored a border around the panel. Took some Color Made Easy Poppy cardstock and added some textures with the swiss dots embossing folder. Added a paper doily to the base that is layered onto more Classic White card stock. Wrapped some red gingham ribbon and twine bow and voila! Oh I do have a little bit of sparkle on the leaves for fun.  :-)  Check out the creations from these talented ladies:

The Good Sense Challenge

Happy World Card Making Day! If any day in the year is to encourage you it is today. hee hee  Flourishes has a fun filled challenge for you, here are the details: Join us this World Card Making Day for a little sensory overload when creating! We want you to tap those brain cells and think about how you could use all five senses to make a creation. Use vibrant color to be a "sight" for the eyes. Use something sweet to eat (food images or embellishments) to pique that sense of smell and taste. Use texture to satisfy that sense of touch or use something noisy - die cut machine, punches, eyelets, embossing to use your sense of hearing in the process. Link up your creation over on the Flourishes blog when you're done using our Inlinkz widget and you'll be in the running to win a fun-filled goody bag full of stamp sets, and goodies! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCWCMD12. So, use your senses and get those fingers inky. We can't wait to see what you create! You have until Tuesday, October 9th at 6PM to enter. We'll announce the winner on Wednesday October 10th!

For my creation I went with the texture and feel part of the challenge. This image is from the set called From the Desk of. I stamped my image out on classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. Colored with various copic collections:

My background is scored to look like a checker board and then added kaiser pearls to the center of each connecting line. Some white wrinkled ribbon in a bow to the corner and voila!
